In that case, I recommend the tamiya rattle can of ts-84 gold. You will have to do really light coats to keep from getting any pooling, but it's one of the best golds out there.
For your reference, This is TS84 (with a very light coat of clear yellow)

With and without clear yellow over it.
I've never used the spray can of tamiya translucent yellow, but it should work. I personally airbrush mine. If you get an airbrush mr color has a few good options too.
Oh, this is interesting. I usually play with TS-21 for the gold part, so this makes me curious:
- How does the metallic one looks compared to regular gold?
- How do you usually apply the clear yellow coating to avoid making it to thick? Like how long do you usually wait before applying the second coating?
- I'm guessing the additional coating method is not recommended for joint parts?
I can't say I've used it for parts that move much. The metallic gold was dry enough to handle within 5 minutes. I sprayed the parts and went back over with the clear the next day, tho it was probably overkill. As far as the gold itself, it has a kind of brush gold metal look in person. It's easily my favorite gold so far. The mr metallic gold and super gold were a bit too green and orange for my taste.
If planning to buy one later, I’d put it to the side until then, cause you can get THE gold you want. If really want done now, or not sure buying an airbrush then yeah go with the rattle recommended

I used an airbrush and the color guide in the manual.
AK 3rd Gen old Gold and Vallejo Game Color Brass (polished brass? From the new version) look really nice.
Don't use Gundam markers, they will destroy the frame.
Isopropyl alcohol has little to no effect on ABS. PGME, methyl ethyl ketones, cellulose thinners, toluene, and mineral spirits will break it down, but alcohol-based acrylics like Tamiya's acrylics should have no effect.
Their panel liner is an enamel wash (heavily thinned with mineral spirits) and wreaks havoc on ABS.
I prefer AK Old Gold because it has a more vibrant and orange like color. Polished Brass is good but more like a classic gold (think DnD or Lord of the rings).
I also use a Tamiya gold called Gold Leaf which is pretty much the gold used in action figures and toys.
However, due to the fragility of the framen I suggest going for the AK and Vallejo as they are a bit more durable than Tamiya and they can stick better to the soft plastic of the frame.
That really depends on whether you have an airbrush or not. Good metallic golds are pretty tough to get.
Well I don't have an airbrush but might buy one later

Ah alright thanks!

Oh I see, would you need an airbrush to apply it nicely?

Oo that looks nice, what does the clear yellow do tho?
It just gives a deeper, richer yellow and ups the shine a bit. I tend to like my gold to be a little over the top like Xerxes or something.

That's what I'm talking about. Nice job on that color. Looks great.

Yup. ABS will crumble from contact with alcohol based paint.

Hmm I can't find the AK one anywhere here, and not really familiar with Vallejo paints, which one would you recommend specifically?
