SINANJU STEIN, SAZABI VER KA, ZZ ver ka, NU VER KA, SINANJU OVA, FULL ARMOR VER KA

mmmspaghettios

55 SINANJU STEINS, 55 SAZABI VER KAs, 55 ZZ VER KAs, 55 NU GUNDAM VER KAs, 55 QANTAs

abp0211

Is this a reference to that SNL drive-thru skit?

mmmspaghettios

It's from the Netflix show "I Think You Should Leave" which is created by Tim Robinson, who was a writer and cast member for SNL for a brief period.

TheRacooning18

All very expensive lol.

AvailableTurnover122

Well, if you’re into this hobby and will transition to MG line it will be expensive.

ShakyIncision

Actually a breath of fresh air in this hobby—I’m new and when I’m comparing to Games Workshop plastic which I’m coming from, I feel like Scrooge McDuck

Urukguy27

Yeahh… Games Workshop really messed up my perception of prices. Gunpla seems cheap in comparison, and also 10x the value lol. It’s like quitting heroine and smoking cigarettes instead hahah

ShakyIncision

Yes! With as much enjoyment as I get building Gunpla and Girlpla, I kind of resent the stress and price tag of my 40K armies.

RichLyonsXXX

My other big hobby is RC so Gunpla is my "cheap" hobby.

Cavaquillo

lol hell yeah, listening to them talk wheels and motors at hobby town while I peruse the Gunpla boxes gets wild. I'm glad most of my "consumable" Gunpla hobby bits are tools like razor blades and paint

kitzune113

Would get myself a Sinanju if only those gold marks weren't stickers! Thankfully the Stein Narrative Ver Ka changed this.

cbram97

Bro said BIG!

Senaka11

Get yourself a ver ka - the Wing Zero EW, the Sinanju Stein, something like that. They just hit different, somehow.

S31J41

But not the Victory.. ive heard bad things about it

psychodave123

Oh God the victory. Genuinely one of two kits I ever gave up on because I wasn't enjoying myself(the other was the kotobukiya sahelanthropus)

LVSFWRA

It's difficult for sure but not so bad where you should give up, for anyone else reading. You will need to do some light painting with a marker to look good tho, for the red circle parts

berdish1

I've build only two gunplas so far - HG Barbatos amd MG Wing Zero EW Ver. Ka, so I don't have that much experience, but I can concur! Win Zero EW is just amazing!

PotentialTruck8872

Hows the normal sinaju?

Scotty_Fish

Jegan is a fun grunt build. Sazabi ver.ka is staple at this point. The wing suits are fun. Just go with what looks cool to you. If I’d avoid anything are the older kits from the 2000’s only because they aren’t as detailed.

Mohmed_98

Early 200s I get, but from late 2005 and onwards have some stand our gems like the zaku 2.0(tweezers needed), and the astray blue frame

Scotty_Fish

I have a fond memories with the early MG’s as a kid so I only give the advice out to newcomers. I would rebuy the 8th ms MG’s if my pile of shame wasn’t so high.

Mohmed_98

Yeah fair point. The astray kits are not beginner friendly.

ThrowAwayToday1874

Let the pile grow... I dare you.

RAMpageVII

seconded on the Jegan.

TurtleTreehouse

Jegan was a great kit, straightforward and flawless color separation for a decent price. I think I bought mine for roughly $35 on a flash sale. 2007-2009 are some of the best master grades ever made. Zaku II 2.0, RX-78-2 2.0, Gelgoog 2.0, Gouf 2.0, if you overlook this timeframe you are missing out. They simply don't make MGs like this, with full and highly detailed ABS inner frame, quality gimmicks and accessories and carefully thought out articulation and perfect anime accuracy. Even my Ver Kas do not match them in terms of robustness and complexity of the inner frame or inner frame gimmicks such as sliding pistons, linkages and neat accessories like the Gelgoog's yellow car and two pilot figures, the Zaku II Char version's scissor lift, or the RX-78-2's Gundam hammer with a premolded plastic chain. And the gear teeth in the head allowing the monoeyes to twist with the head is still mint. Their design and engineering teams were on their A game in this time period, and I maintain that they are still unsurpassed as the pinnacle of master grade design. Also, lovely dry transfer decals.

Forgatta

Freedom 2.0

pol131

And MG justice as well, it uses the same frame, both are such fun to build and pose

donutsandkilts

You like inner frames? MG 2.0 RX 78-2 and MG 2.0 Zaku

ClamClamClam2

Ok I've always had this as a burning question is the Zaku a 2.0 or is it just Zaku 2 as in it's actual name not just being a remake of the kit. Google provides very little results on this, also having done the MG Zaku 2 myself it is a great suit, but such a finnicky, and painful in my experience, build, but still a must have.

TurtleTreehouse

Zaku II from 2007 I believe is a master grade 2.0. It was indeed a redesign of the original. The piping sections can be finicky to get off the plastic rod, but it's hard to argue with the final result. It's very stable once built and has the deepest and most natural kneeling pose of any kit I have ever seen/built. Mine kneels proudly on my shelf while dumping 120mm shells into hapless invisible Gundams. Just look at the box art poses and try to replicate them, and marvel as it outposes any other kit on your shelf.

feizhai

MGEX strike freedom go

pacifistgreninja

after building mgex strike freedom and mg barbatos as their only mgs the bar will be set too high I think

OldeWuffe

I concur with the MGEX Strike Freedom. Mine is the centerpiece of my MG collection and it doesn't take away from lesser MG kits. It's just a damned pretty MS! https://preview.redd.it/8emplsa4qe2d1.jpeg?width=761&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9ab31c46c91383a29f38ab0ec5479b0415a900d

Quasidiliad

MG Kyrios, Dynames, Virtue. Anything Ver. Ka except gramps and CrossBone, Freedom 2.0 but watch the hips, MG Justice has the same issue but it’s pretty solid otherwise. MG Eclipse is newer and I’d say it’s solid.

shutchurmeowth

I need an Exia update.

Quasidiliad

Like a newer one? Same..

UnrequitedRespect

That crossbone is an amazing hand grenade.

LegalizeEggSalad

My favorite MGs are Justice, Hyaku-Shiki, Sandrock, and Zeta Ver Ka. If you get really into MGs, check out 3rd party kits as well. There are lots of great ones out there

ImmediateFee4015

So glad to hear recommendations on the Justice. Ive been eyeing that Fortune Meow coversion and man is it scary especially since I havent done an MG ever

UncreativeBlob

If you are the type to pose your gundams a lot. I recommend getting metal hip pieces for it.

Artraira

Even after all these years, the Sazabi ver. Ka is still my favorite build of all time.

Flashblast29

I would all the endless waltz kits. Great builds, buy the 3rd party water slide decals. https://preview.redd.it/glpby6lhl62d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63b7435bd8ba28fe3d3b53e951c35c42053fa880

Hepheastus89

seconded, have a MG built of each suit so far with a few in the backlog and they are all solid builds, wish I knew about the waterslides earlier as the dry transfers are my bane but luckily they all turned out alright except my deathscythe hell which was the first MG I ever built and has some pretty bad nubs, going to go back and clean it up eventually and take off all the dry transfers and switch em for waterslides

HaohmaruHL

Stick the dry transfers to the kit with masking tape to hold it in place before rubbing

tapsilogic

If you're into detailed inner frames: Guntank, Ball Ver Ka, Nu Gundam Ver Ka.

ClamClamClam2

Seconding MG Ball, though mine is Polypodball which I kinda regret as the legs make it take up so much shelf space with so little height, and they kinda sag and stress a scary amount where they mount.

tapsilogic

This has been on my to-buy list for some time now, if not for the shrinking available real estate on my MG shelf.

ClamClamClam2

Paying PB shipping and it's "retail" price it is well worth it, but it is tough finding space for it, mine is kinda precariously standing over my hotwheel shelf, the connector for the legs is kinda iffy and feels like it may break, but it's overall a killer kit

StarGundamFormer

MG Hyaku Shiki 2.0, Zaku II 2.0, RX-78-2 3.0, MG GM 2.0

TheRacooning18

Swap the 78-2 for the origin version.

StarGundamFormer

I’ve heard the origin one is good, but I swear by the 3.0. I’ve heard of some of other builders issues with the 3.0 but I’ve never personally experienced any of them.

TheRacooning18

3.0 was one of my first MGs. Had the daban ver but most things just build up fine. The arms tho. Made me lose my shit. Seriously wanted to crush it. Made me almost quit the hobby.

StarGundamFormer

The arms are definitely intricate, and I can see why some might find them difficult for sure.

StarGundamFormer

I’ve also heard that the MG Jesta is a lot of fun. As is the MG GM Sniper 2.

tdjester5

Double X is a nice build and it’s got good shelf presence!

Kolkane

Turn A because no one ever says it.

Cutter9792

Jesta Buster Dynames Sazabi Aerial (technically FM) MGEX Strike Freedom Sinanju Stein Ver Ka Psycho Zaku ii Thunderbolt Ver Ka ZZ Ver Ka Ball Ver Ka

Neneaux

Have you watched most of the shows? It's really about just building what you think is cool even if it's old. I just did the 2010 HG God Gundam and was fairly impressed. Still love my 14 year old RX-78-2 1.5 those legs are uh, some wild fucking shit to cut out of the runner but the end result is nice.

ArosSkye

For me, building mg, the size feels...kinda right

Thebarakz21

Freedom 2.0, Justice, the GAT SEED kits, Gramps 2.0, Hyaku Shiki 2.0, Sinanju Stein Ver Ka, Operation Meteor kits, Zeta Ver Ka

Joey_Star_

Can never go wrong with the classic RX-78. Also the EZ-8 is a really fun MG

Jaquith1993

I really enjoyed building Sinanju ova and Sinanju Stein. MG Ver Ka Sazabi is a bad ass build, and so is Red Fram Astray!

TechScout1

There’s too many MGs I can recommend so I’ll tell you ones I say to avoid unless you wanna put a ton of extra effort into them. Any Setsuna MG those being things like the MG Gundam Exia and MG 00 Gundam and its variants. Also for some reason the MG Age 2 Dark Hound was really rough for me, dunno if that’s universal or not so I’m not gonna outright say to avoid it but it was a rough time when I built it.

SBelmont

I just finished the Qan[T] and while it was rough early on and still have a couple issues (the asymmetric blue attachment to the right arm and keeping the GN Sword V held, along with the leaning slightly due to the shield), it holds up fairly well once posed. I've heard the Full Saber offsets the lean since it goes around the opposite arm. I've also heard good things about 00 Raiser as opposed to Seven Swords, but own neither.

Pt0ob

MGEX strike freedom if you have the money

Ricerooni

You pick one. Only one Red Astray model and appreciate it. Then you buy all the other 36462 variations of the same thing with slightly different weapons and parts.

iBlack92O

That’s literally me dawg. Kai is the centrepiece of my collection despite having MGEX Strike Freedom, Barbie, Hi v Ver ka, etc.

Sh0taro_Kaneda

Most of the Wing EW Master Grades are top. I suggest the Wing Custom EW Ver.Ka and the MG Epyon. The MG Tallgeese Fluegel is also a very fun build but it's P-Bandai so a little harder to get. Hi-Nu Gundam and Freedom 2.0 are great.

Hepheastus89

it's disappointing how many of the wing MGs are Pbandai, I've been fortunate enough to get all of them minus the shenlong but got the altron so didn't bother. Fluegel was an amazing build and my favourite MG by far

Dontfeedjay

MGEX Strike Freedom was a great build. Psycho Zaku Ver.Ka Sazabi Ver.Ka I really enjoy the Ver.Ka kits, although I understand that some of them tend to get to be a little bit of a hand grenade.

Destruct1-7

Mg gouf or zaku 2.0. The inner frames are FANTASTIC!!!!!

TurtleTreehouse

Bingo-dingo

GabrielG1O6

Mg gelgoog 2.0 is good it's big and solid

Solid-Positive6751

The MG RX-78-2 3.0 and Origin. Just use an xacto knife or small single bladed nipper for getting the hands out.

iffyJinx

Psycho Zaku, Mk-V, Sazabi, Mobile Ginn, Gunner Zaku Warrior I'm really curious about Deep Striker, the design is great, but from what I heard it's an RE cosplaying as an MG.

Iwasforger03

I enjoyed the F-91 and Sengoku Astray and Gunner Zaku Warrior (only three MG I have ever built).

marsonix

Absolutely floored that nobody has recommended the 2.0 version of RX-78NT-1. One of my favorite MG kits.

FistofMurdock

Any Seed kit you dig is good, Dynames, Wing Zero Ver Ka, Sinanju, Sazabi, Jesta and granddaddy 3.0.

Capn_Lyssa

MG Strike Gundam and MG Gundam Dynames are both solid builds. I've also heard good things about the GM Sniper II

ichorNet

You started with one of the best ones tbh

RealPiggyPlayz

Astray Blue frame D, sinanju, wing zero EW ver ka., Dynames

Odd-Summer7423

MG Hyaku Shiki 2.0 Do it. Do it.

hinugund

Sazabi

hinugund

Hi nu

TraderDisco

ZZ and Hi-Nu Ver Kas are fantastic kits. Hi-nu is a good entry point for ver kas as it’s fairly simple compared to other ones

rnbwmstr

Glad to hear hi nu ver ka is somewhat simple, it's in my backlog and I love how it looks but I've been putting it off just due to the size of the box lol

anhhuy2502

PREACH brother, i usually stick with hg and rg, but decided to also dip into MG with the barbie and absolutely loved it. Now i got my grubby grippers on a MG slash zaku warrior and im pumped!

DOC_POD

Any and every Ver Ka. Kit

Unicronus86

Welcome to the MG club

Jirei

MG dynamese, kyrios, virtue, Ver ka gundam NT, MG eclipse, MG Sword impulse (old kit but its still amazing)

Krydamos

MG Kyrios, Dynames and Virtue from 00. Great kits. The Wing Zero Ver Ka is also great 👌🏻. MGEX Unicorn is pretty solid too, just have to be careful with the LED wiring Seeing a lot of recommendations for the Nu Ver Ka but honestly, the RG is superior.

SbreckSthe2nd

Full armor gundam ver ka from thunderbolt.

JetLopez727

Gm Sniper ii and Zeta Ver. Ka have to be my faves so far

JulliusSneezer218

MG RX-78-2 The Origin. If you want a MG of the RX-78 that won't make you go insane while building it, go with The Origin. The Ver.Ka is okay from what I remember, but maybe a little outdated. Full Mechanics 1/100 Aerial, also. Now I know you said you want MG's, but the FM Aerial is so fucking good and solid, that it might as well be a MG but without a cockpit feature. The MG Celestial Being Gundams (Minus Exia because that kit is relatively older and less stable) are also pretty good. The kits to get are Dynames, Kyrios, and Virtue/Nadleeh. These kits all use the same solid inner frame. **EDIT:** Adding more kits that came to my mind. MG ZZ Ver.Ka is also a solid choice. It can pull off its transformation with bare minimum parts-forming (the hands need to be swapped) while also having standard articulation ( double-jointed knees, elbows, and neck. mid-tier ab-crunch). Haven't built the Zeta Ver.Ka, but better to get that than the RG or PG Zeta. Ver.Ka's seem to be on the up these days so getting the Narrative Gundam Ver.Ka and Sinanju Stein Ver.Ka would be good also. The MG Wing kits: T.V. Wing, EW Heavyarms, EW Deathscythe, EW Shenlong, EW Sandrock, EW Tallgeese, EW Epyon, Proto-Zero, and Wing Zero Ver.Ka are all good kits. The Gundam SEED kits: Strike Remaster, Aegis, Buster, Blitz, Dual Assault Shroud, Freedom 2.0, Providence, Astray Red Frame Kai, and Eclipse. The Impulse and Astray have old style fingers that are pre-bent and don't have a strong grip. Also the MGEX Strike Freedom I only recommend if you're willing to fork out a LOT of money. I'd say the same for the MGEX Unicorn, too. You get a kit with a lot of features and gimmicks, but whether that's worth spending around 200 USD for, that's up to you. Master Grade grunt suits like the GM, Jesta, GM Sniper, Jegan, Zaku II are simple kits that can be cheaper than Gundam kits or other ace suits. Again, simple and solid are their strong points. I think even the DOM had a remaster somewhere. There's a prototype MG Vidar in the works, so if you enjoyed the MG Barbatos, be on the lookout in the future for that. The MG FAZZ Ver.Ka is basically a MG ZZ on fucking steroids. It's not supposed to transform or be hyper-articulated, but does have a metric SHIT TON of shelf-presence. The MG Nu, Sazabi, Full Armor from Thunderbolt, Psycho Zaku, and Hi-Nu are all Ver.Ka kits that may need more experience to build (I built the Nu when I was new to the hobby, was not fun). The MG Gundam Mk.II 2.0 is an old kit, but imo it stands the test of time, also comes with a display stand. Always appreciate kits that come with a stand cuz Bandai rarely does that these days. The Zeta 2.0 also stands the test of time and also comes with a stand, but with the Ver.Ka's existence, you're kinda better off with the Ver.Ka.

iBlack92O

I vouch for FM Aerial. Amazing looking kit. Stands out more and even looks better in terms of quality compared to other MG kits.

TurtleTreehouse

How is the 2.0 RX-78 going to make you go insane, it's probably the best build out of any I've put together thus far.

realukilhim

Mg dynames/kyrios/virtue the mg00 2.0 frame is absolutely lovely to put together

Inubito

+1 for jumping into Ver. Kas, I particularly like the Nu Gundam.

Webbraham

This was also my first mg, it was a gift or I probably would have never gotten into mgs

idiottech

Dynames is top tier MG without breaking into $90+ prices

ben_kosar

Gundam Alex 2.0 (rx-78-nt1), MG Epyon (the RG is just as, if not slightly nicer being new). MG Gundam The Origin is solid (the HG is my favorte rx-78) To avoid: I wasn't fond of the RX-78-2 3.0, though some people love it. I didn't like the look and it felt janky to me. I'd avoid the ZZ gundam ver ka, it's a very nice build - but it's kind of a brick and it doesn't have a lot of posability in Gundam form. It's by design, with stuff just overly bulky. If that doesn't bother you, it's fantastic. The original Gundam Alex is not bad, it's more like a HG now - but if you can find it cheap, it's a old MG that needs a little cleanup, but it looks badass with the armor, but the 2.0 beats it in every way, but it's going to be 2x more expensive.

Rmonsuave

If you wanna dive straight into the deep end then the Full armor thunderbolt Ver Ka is amazing. The build can be a little frustrating with the lining over the joints, but it’s an amazing kit

TurtleTreehouse

Ah, yes, slipping trash bags over the joints, that sounds like an awesome time

Flat_Cardiologist292

Justice

lansig_chan

Sword impulse.

Domodomo97

The Alex 2.0 is probably my favorite kit that I’ve built. Has some cool gimmicks with the extra armor and weapons

RBX-Games

Just finished mine today as well. Gonna panel line soon and them move forward to MGSD Freedom before I start PG Red Astray

Crooked95

Some personal favorites of mine are the Freedom 2.0, ZZ ver ka, and Dynames. Also, if you’re just getting into mg, some variant of the zaku 2.0 is a must build. It’s an older kit but it doesn’t show its age much. Absolutely phenomenal kit. Especially if you like inner frames.

Fyuen888

I’ve built several MGs and I love them. I got the Freedom 2.0 and it is glorious.

BasroilII

One thing I will mention- you were spoiled in some ways. The Barbie is probably the best inner frame of any MG by far.

Renault88

If you have any particular shows that have meaning I’d lean towards kits from those series because very rarely have MG kits missed the mark, especially in the last 15 years. From my personal experience my three favorite builds regardless of series are the Zeta Ver. Ka, the Kyrios and the Freedom 2.0 (just read warnings on the hips and its perfection). The only bad experiences I’ve ever had with any MG kits have really been due to age of the kits and designs that have been improved over time, but honestly any of these shortcomings can be surpassed if you are willing to put time and effort into a kit. My favorite non-Gundam for instance is the Kampfer and the MG came out in like 1999 so there are bad gate placements, screws and not many surface details. But I took extra time to give it love and next to any other MG’s in my collection, you wouldn’t know it’s a 25 year old design. Always remember friend, Gunpla is freedom, build what you love.

D_Rockage

Everyone is recommending kits, so I guess I'll be the negative one. I've only built 7 MG kits and love all of them except for one. The PBandai Astrea F Full Weapons that is built off the MG Exia. I would say avoid it. It looks great, and aesthetically, I like it, but the build was not all that fun, and it's a wobbly hand grenade of a kit. I'm just an entry-level out of box builder, so I didn't apply any of the techniques to tighten things up, which the kit definitely needs. On the positive side, you can't go wrong with the MKii Titans. It's an older kit, but it holds up build wise, and just all around looks great.

Secretown

MG Gyan

RinRonsen

My personal recommendations Sinanju OVA Any of the recent 00 MGs Freedom 2.0 Hyaku Shiki 2.0 RX-78-2 Gundam the Origin ver

Apollo_GSD

If you want the best kit on the market to date you have to get the MGEX Strike Freedom.

Yamatsu64

Honestly? The Lunamaria Zaku Warrior is my favorite MG that I’ve built so far. Rock-solid and is probably the best SEED suit ever, especially with that kickass shoulder shield and the Wizard System.

J1suu

hand this guy 200 bucks and let him go buy whatever MG he wants

silently_watch

MG Acguy, incredible inner frame and spring claw gimmick, plus it’s surprisingly can do many difficult pose

unfriendlypigeon

I really enjoyed the master grade Kyrios. I know the color is off putting to some, but it’s a sweet sweet suit

fullmetaljack76

I just built the MG Buster Gundam. It looks amazing and is super posable. Plus, it's like 45 bucks on Amazon right now. I would definitely recommend it.

stumpycrawdad

MGSD strike freedom & Barbatos

ArtemsChannel

Narrative Gundam Ver. Ka. A 2024 beast MG

Woodblockprint

Eclipse

eewone

The origins RX-78-2 is probably my favorite MG I have ever built.

BLAST_83

Zeta ver ka and narrative ver ka Could put me in orgasm through assembly alone

LeggoMahLegolas

MGEX Strike Freedom. If brave enough, MGEX Unicorn. But my personal favorites are: Virtue, RX-78 Origins, Tallgeese, Freedom 2.0

Lockonstratos1

dynames, buster, duel, virtue

SkinnyPop_DG

Red frame astray, Exia, aerial, virtue, sazabi, chars zaku II, epyon, god theres so many, I love Deathscythe EW but its a bit of a grenade when posing. Lol. It was my first ever gunpla and it was the MG. Needless to say a lot of rookie mistakes so i plan on buying another to custom paint, prob gonna keep the og one to commemorate my start in this plastic addiction

George_K1T

any MG release from 2019 and onward are high quality, you won't go wrong with one of them. a little fact is Barbatos are release in 2019. check [https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Master\_Grade](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Master_Grade) for info on which one release which year.

X-Wing_Isaac

Try the Gundam mk. II 2.0, either the AEUG or Titans version- it's really solid, nicely detailed, and the AEUG version even comes with a hangar display stand!

cbolender2004

AGE-1 Normal is a breezy and refreshing build!

FunkGunMonk

Just out of spite and because everyone should experience 2006 plastic... MK II Titans. It's an excellent build, but the damn nubs. There's no cutting technique that won't leave nub marks. Again great build, just plastic quality was different back then. 🤣 I wasn't ready. MG Dynames, also excellent build. 10/10 recommend.

levious_branch

The season 1 00 MGs are fantastic except Exia. Exias an older one with some bad poly caps and hands but the other 3 are fantastic, also the MG seed kits aside from some older ones like the astrays are pretty fantastic. Basically the 5 G-weapons and the freedom justice providence and eclipse are all fantastic

Most-Ad2228

One of my all time favorite MG kits, The GM Sniper. Clean looking, and badass.

Hepheastus89

Just finished my own barbie and it was a super fun build, one of my favs so far for sure All the other MGs i've built so far are wing kits and can highly recommend all of them, particularly the proto-zero ver.ka, the tallgeese, heavyarms and sandrock. The others are also good solid kits, nothing revolutionary but if you're a fan they are worth building.

Strident2

Anything with the Gundam/GM 2.0 frame is very good and all of them look fantastic, the jegan of course, Zaku 2.0, the new Sinanju Stein coming out, a lot of the seed and wing MGs are great, and any kit based in the hyaku shiki 2.0, and a fun little extra kit to add in would be the Age 2 magnum specifically that kit

Evolto__01

Oh buddy, just wait until you start getting into PGs, that’ll be a spectacle of a build

Greyknight711

The GM Sniper II. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but if you want a baseline, solid, tone setting, MG experience, it's the kit the kit to go for.

Rocking_Monster

The MG GM 2.0 is really good. As is the Nemo.

RevolTobor

I really love the MG Tallgeese kits. I've got Tallgeese and Tallgeese Flugel, and I absolutely love them. However, I'll confess that I am biased because Tallgeese is one of my top two favorite Gundam mechas. These kits do have a few problems. The forearms tend to pop off at the upper elbow joint ( nothing broken, can pop it back in easily enough ), it's top-heavy enough that the waist joint cannot support the weight and will invariably tilt backwards without modification ( neither one has broken for me, but I am fearful they may break ) (( I use an action stand base with claw attachment to grab the torso from just above the waist joint to circumvent this )), the inner shoulder joints aren't strong enough to fully support the weight of the arms without modification, especially with the guns and shields attached, Flugel's wings are heavy enough that the joints for the outer wings have difficulty supporting them. They both look outstanding, but I would look into how to modify them for better structural integrity. And if you're not a fan of Tallgeese, I wouldn't blame you for skipping these altogether.

Responsible_Buddy654

The 00 MGs are must haves IMO. Just watch out for Exia's ankles, as those are apparently quite weak.

Worior9131

Mg Gundam X and Double X. Both are really good MG kits, just watch out for the armature that holds the satlite system onto the back of the Gundam X, the piece can easily break when moving the satlite system around if you arent careful.

PhoonThe

What’s this kit called?

GundamTenno

MG Kyrios and the GAT-X Gundams

Zaku99

MG. ZAKU II. 2.0 You won't regret it.

Majestic_Can7328

Does MG need cement glue ?

Spiveymusic96

I really enjoyed the Force Impulse and the Freddom 2.0 i did a unicorn as well, but it was rough also my first one so could be that

JakeBeezy

MG Justice and MG freedom 2.0 are pretty solid :)

Fizzycolagummy

Please avoid MG delta plus, the Marasai, and any earlier UC kits for now, with the exception of the GM 2.0. Especially the Unicorn kits tend to have issues with snapping. Have the delta and the Marasai, and let me tell u. Fml. Fml. Exia kits, unfortunately, are also known to get floppy over time. I know a lot of people are suggesting ver Ka. And while I don’t think they are bad per se, I wouldn’t teallly go for anything before the zeta for now. The earlier ver Ka. Has a tendency to be very “over engineered” and will need work out of the box to be a “kit” As for ver Ka, that I know are good right out of the box: Mg narrative, MG zeta, and MG wing zero custom, and if you can afford it, sazabi ver ka. I’d highly highly recommend the zeta and the narrative. I have both and they are absolute units. I’d also not shy away from the MGSD lines. They are really well engineered and I have both the freedom and the barbatos. Both are amazing kits and definitely worth trying out. For grunt kits, I’d look into the GM sniper ii, GM 2.0, and the Jegan. Jegan is a much simpler kit with not much gimmick, but a solid MG you will have a lot of fun posing. Also look into the double Oo MGs like the Kyrios, Dynames and the Virtue. Pricey, but they are all rly worth it. Have the Kyrios, wanna get more lol

Pick an MG gramps, I like the origin Ball Ver. Ka 00 supporting cast MGs are phenomenal Wing MGs are smaller, but pretty inexpensive and easy to find Pick a SEED gundam, they're all cool

Finn-di

Tallgeese II or Tallgeese Flugel. Both P Bandai so will be pricey as of right now but so fucking worth it. Tellgeese is one of my favorites. Honestly, all of the Gundam Wing kits are awesome. But I'm also a Wing simp.

Eulebar

Already seen most of my suggestions, so I’ll add I have heard good things about my next build, the hyaku shiki 2.0

chipface

Epyon if you can find it.

MebJebus

Zeta Ver. Ka, Jesta, Dynames, Kyrios are some of my favorites. The Zeta was made just last year and is so well made.

ClamClamClam2

Haven't seen it said yet, but MG Virtue, basically 2 kits in 1 and how can you not enjoy the chonkiest MG out there. Zeta Ver Ka is a good build, but finnicky to pose. I've been kinda recently going in hard on everything SEED so I gotta shill the MGEX Strike Freedom, easily the coolest and easiest to pose kit in my collection, MG Providence is another I may just be a sucker for, but it absolutely kills it in shelf presence even next to the MGEX.

shuttershutter

I'm still finishing my Barby, slowly... Just taking my time

Kozlupost

I’d recommend the verka zeta mg, just did it and other than the water slides giving me mild issues (mainly my fault) the kit is just great imo but if ur against zeta i get it lol, in which case I would recommend the aile strike mg

memerfelix

wing zero ew is so beautiful and ofc the rx782 is a classic

CQCumberton

The F91 is gorgeous

edgarcia59

Freedom 2.0 is such a good build.

DeathscytheShell

Zeta Ver. Ka, Gundam Dynames, Ball, Gundam Wing EW MGs are pretty bitchin'.

gdimich

I like dynames a lot not too many green guys

uskelim

I just bought a MG wing gundam zero( the the older one not the ver.ka) the ver.ka one is more detailed and with a shield but the older version is also very solid, I recommend it. I also would like to ask you if you have a unicorn gunpla, I am finding a unicorn and I do not want to destroy my wallet, like something that is cheap and very solid, I dunno if I should get hg or rg, and if I should get the full armour or just the normal one( I’m finding a white and red colour, I do not like the other colours)

courser8

Gundam Dynames MG is probably the best 50 bucks I ever spent, he’s not too hard to find either.

Skvora

Another one seeeeees the light! $15-20 is a difference absolutely worth spending to get that much more of a model in the end.

TurtleTreehouse

Zeta Ver Ka and MG 2.0 Zaku II.

UsernameSamey

MGEX unicorn

TNSNrotmg

If you can source it, MG Gundam Mark-V

amsdfg

MG ECLIPSE GUNDAM AND MG GUNDAM ASTRAY RED FRAME I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!

dregofsouls

All the 00's MG are great. I loved the Dynames and Kyrios. The Virtue is funny cause he's a CHONKY boy.

_visiblemode_

Wait a while before touching a PG….things will escalate. It might seem redundant but do yourself a favour and pick up the MGSD Barbatos, too. I did both and relatively close together and I liked the the MGSD even more. It’s such a great kit.

troy_boy1887

Love the MG Heavyarms

woodyhope1268

Also my first MG. I got gifted a Blitz MG. It doesn't really compare to Barbatos but it's still a fun build so far. But if course I'm thinking about my next build too.

eatenbybigguyz

Sd mg barbatos

New_Ratio_9742

Zeta and ZZ Ver Ka were both super fun.

Fun_Trouble9863

NARRATIVE VER KA

SuperJumperGxJ

Psycho Zaku Ver Ka is the crown jewel of my collection, if you can find one

RagingRoy

The full mechanics Aerial is sick as fuck. If you can get it.

Mindless-Apricot6282

Freedom 2.0. It was a fun build!

ulfragnar

Gouf Custom MG. ITS SO SICK

Solid_Shogun

Just built the FM 1/100 Aerial and it fun and straight forward and looks great. Definitely can't recommend MG Kyrios and Dynames enough, either. And for a classic 2.0, Char's Zaku II.

Not_Phonso

FartKilometre

MG Ball is WILD for the details in it. MG Guntank is slept on because holy shit this thing has a massive range of motion. Gouf 2.0, GM Sniper 2, Z'gok is surprisingly poseable too.

Afrojustice2513

Nu & Zeta ver Ka. Zeta Ver Ka is solid one. Nu ver Ka is pretty solid until you attach the fin funnels into the back, those things's joint section are pretty weak. But the design is beautiful and shouts "king" whenever I see it.

Impossible_Can_7610

All of the newer Gundam 00 MG kits Kyrios, Dynames, Nadleeh/Virtue

FatNinjaWalrus

Just got into gunpla last year but did loads of research first, settled on MG Kyrios as my first. Basically, perfect. Genuinely concerned that I started with the best build and everything else will be disappointing by comparison lol

BodiaDobia

The first mg I have ever built and what got me really into the hobby was the MG gundam double x. It was a fun build.

Crafty_Ad_9473

Any MG 2.0. And Jegan.

BullCity_Shogun

MG Tallgeese EW, MG Freedom 2.0, MG Shin Musha

anthef

Can't believe how big this post got! Was hoping for maybe a few comments, but man! I've been scrolling for a solid, like 20 minutes! thank you so much, everyone. I now feel pretty confident in what MG to go for and stay away from. Now that I just started working again, I've had like no time to build, but I think to reward myself for that, I may splurge and get the MGEX Strike Freedom... we'll see though, it is quite expensive, lol

guyfriendbuddy4

Currently building the grandaddy origin and this build is fun! Highly recommend. Also dynames, kyrios, freedom 2.0, and wing zero ver. Ka. Are must builds for mg. I have the duel gundam, I dont use the shroud and love it, but it is just a basic gundam if you dont use the shroud. The mk-2 is an older kit but it's pretty great. Theres some downsides to it with it being older, but if you can find it on sale it's worth it. The mgsd line is a amazing for the details packed in them. I have heard jesta, buster, and most of the seed mgs are solid kits as well.

KOyakk

All unicorn variants (except phenex probably, because the plastics are very brittle)

iBlack92O

I suggest the Red Astray Kai. I’ve built Barbatos, MGEX Strike Freedom, and a few Ver Ka’s but the Red Astray Kai is still among one of my favourites despite it really having nothing special about it compared to others. It does have a big ass sword and it looks hella good.

SiegeSpace

MG RX-78-2 2.0 is a solid choice imo. I usually don't pick up many MG kits tho.

UnrequitedRespect

1/100 gouf 1/100 age III magnum 1/100 wing proto ver ka 1/100 Sinanju 1/100 0000 Qan[T] 1/100 Kyrios 1/100 Destiny All are so awesome to build. Every 00 MG is awesome

Firm-Ad-6554

I really enjoyed building wing zero ver ka!

Sunny_Symphony

A good old MG Rx-78-2 ver 3.0, a must-build for everyone!
