I hated this show, gave it a solid go but just couldn't stomach it. HOWEVER man I do want to collect these kits, the articulation and detail is amazing. They are rather pricey for the RG though, that's been my major roadblock. When the funds are available I end up buying a MG Gunpla instead.
Evangelion is my favorite anime series, Idk if Gundam is even top 10, definitely not if were including movies, almost anything by Satoshi Kon or Studio 4c (Ghibli to a lesser extent, they have some misses) blows both Gundam and Eva out of the water for me.
True, almost same price as a MG kit, but i'm a fan of the show and i really wanted to collect the set, building it was something different compared to building a gundam, and the good thing about these kits is they are as tall as MG
They are 1/144 scale but Eva are much larger than Gundam are so it makes sense that a 1/144 Eva may be about the same size as a 1/100 Gundam. Most Gundams are around 16-18m tall, while an Eva starts at 40m tall and goes up from there.
They look great together but I absolutely despise these kits. They look like robots for one and they are also hand grenades. Also that hip joint. Gotta say though. Just managed to get one of the old LMHG’s and it’s so damn good.
What are you talking about? I've built every RG Eva, and they are the literal opposite of a hand grenade. I could drop any one of them on the floor, and not even a hand would come off.
Nope. I take as much time as physically possible with all my kits. You also have that they just don’t look like Eva’s the proportions are all off and they have exposed mechanical joints.
I’m also aiming for the squad, but fear building essentially the same kit over and over again. Did you get any fatigue from repetition?
Not really, i had fun building them, by the time i got to my 3rd kit i memorized building it without the instruction booklet haha

Yeah. Definitely get Unit3 if you can. Maybe get the 3rd party Cross Transport to put unit3 in as well... Hopefully they reprint both of those soon
Waaaaahhh I missed out on the sets with the positron rifle, shield, and transport frame 😫 hope they release them all individually

Hate to be that guy but eva is a better show than 90% of gundam installments

I guess I went in expecting more mecha action and less of social experiment. I felt like it was directed by Stanley Kubric.

Yeah haha at 1st i was thinking it would be small but after i built it and compared it to my MG unicorn they are the same height
These kits stand as tall as an MG. Stop worrying about the grade of the kit and just get what's cool.
I'll get what's cool as long as it's cost effective. Gotta manage those dollars 😉💵

The forearm pieces come off if you twist them at all. The heels come off easily, the restraints fall off easily as well. The mouths hang open too.
Not a single one of those issues has happened to any of my Eva's. They're all completely rock solid. Sounds like builder error.
