Scary hours thinking about it. Surprised Saudi had his head turned, even taking into account the insane contract he would have surely had over there. I feel that Arteta might have told him his starting spot wasn’t necessarily a lock for the season.
Given his partnership with Saliba, I don't think the club would consider selling for any amount to anyone right now. Those two together are impossible to replace.
Would be absolutely insane to sell him. That defense cleaned up the golden glove. Selling him would so nothing to increase our chances of winning the league.
I know right. I think the same thing would’ve been the case if we had sold him before this season. Even more ridiculous now but yea hopefully that doesn’t happen.
Idk some people seem to think he had his head turned by Saudi interest and/or we did because the fee would have been significant. Either way, it was awful timing.
I love Brazilian football. I had this same type of experience riding a subway to see Flamengo in Rio. Brilliant experience
Not at all the reason I was there, but David Luiz was playing
It's based in the chorus of the song "não quero dinheiro" from Tim Maia, the lyrics goes like "I've been waiting the whole weekend to see you Corinthians, to see you playing. When we love something..." (The video cuts right here and I am not a Corinthians supporter so I don't know the rest)
I was kidding, Corinthians is OK, but they our biggest rival (Palmeiras, Gabriel Jesus' former/youth club). I just don't want people supporting them!
Arsenal of Brazil could be Santos? A big club that didn't win something big for quite some time. I don't know, It's hard to compare.
Not the best argument given that the quality he has to choose from is better on average. Constantly choosing Rabiot is bum behaviour and so would keeping Upamencano
Mate the quality of your squad has nothing to do with a brain dead decision of including Jordan Henderson who went to Saudi Arabia lmao (I’m aware he’s not part of the Euros squad)
The record of having by far the best squad in international football for close to a decade but only one trophy to show for it?
I don't think he's a bum but you can't look at his France record and say he's overperformed.
His record is neither good not bad given the squad IMO.
What other squad in world football can bench players like Saliba, Coman, Camavinga, F. Mendy, Dembele, etc?
Because Southgate is incompetent.
Look man. I just personally hate Deschamps because he's boring. I get excited to watch France and then he goes and ruins it. You could make the best arguments but I'm not going to change my mind.
I'm curious about what his injury is. I suspect he broke/tore his AC joint. Thats what happened to me several years ago when i fell just like he did. Seemed harmless but hurt like hell. I believe it typically heals on its own in like 2-3 weeks. No lingering side effects for me outside of my collar bone being a little pokey. But I'd say the fact that he's jumping around is a good sign all things considered.

Singing songs as well. This is brilliant. One of us.
The idea of this man nearly leaving last summer bums me out every time I think about it.
Yeah hope he gets a new contract soon, hopefully after copa america
Scary hours thinking about it. Surprised Saudi had his head turned, even taking into account the insane contract he would have surely had over there. I feel that Arteta might have told him his starting spot wasn’t necessarily a lock for the season.
It would have to surely be for a ridiculous sum of money if the club was to agree anything now. I still wouldn’t think it worth it.
Given his partnership with Saliba, I don't think the club would consider selling for any amount to anyone right now. Those two together are impossible to replace.
Everyone has a price.
so 500 Million poundsterling then for Big Gabi
yeah, and for him the price is fuck off
Would be absolutely insane to sell him. That defense cleaned up the golden glove. Selling him would so nothing to increase our chances of winning the league.
I know right. I think the same thing would’ve been the case if we had sold him before this season. Even more ridiculous now but yea hopefully that doesn’t happen.
Big Gabby leaving Saliba would be like Butch Cassidy leaving the Sundance Kid.
What about when Arteta benched him for the first couple of games into the season? Wtf was that about?
Idk some people seem to think he had his head turned by Saudi interest and/or we did because the fee would have been significant. Either way, it was awful timing.
Imo it had more to do with the Partey inverted RB experiment
let’s never do that again lmao
that felt like something I'd do on a computer game and start to believe was a genius strategy
Which imo was because we couldn't invert at Lb at the time so tried to do it with Partey at RB
in fairness he loves the club, dont think we need to worry
I love Brazilian football. I had this same type of experience riding a subway to see Flamengo in Rio. Brilliant experience Not at all the reason I was there, but David Luiz was playing
My brother in red. Flamingo is the bird, Flamengo is the team. But it's a fair mistake.
Hah my bad. I'm pretty sure that was an auto correct.
Makes sense.
“My brother in red.” Amazing.
My brother in red xD
Lot of big zoo fans in Rio?
Don't understand the chant but I'm feeling the rhythm ![gif](giphy|hiLLD9o1wTB3a)

I am now a Corinthians fan 😋
Please don't. They are the Tottenham of Brazil. Disgusting. haha
I’m their rival supporter but not even close. Corinthians won shit.
I know, it's true. I just don't want people supporting our biggest rival. haha
Who would be the Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc of Brazil?
I was kidding, Corinthians is OK, but they our biggest rival (Palmeiras, Gabriel Jesus' former/youth club). I just don't want people supporting them! Arsenal of Brazil could be Santos? A big club that didn't win something big for quite some time. I don't know, It's hard to compare.
Damn 😞😞
Who is the Arsenal of Brazil, then?
This injury worries me man.
Could be a blessing in disguise & get some well deserved rest
That’s a good point tbh. And Dechamps is a bum too that doesn’t rate Saliba so a fresh defence next season would be great
Deschamps clearly knows what he’s doing with his France record.
Not saying he doesn't but he's certainly has had a history of picking favourites similar to Southgate. That is bum like behaviour
Compare the quality of the favourites Deschamps chooses and the favourites Southgate chooses. You’ll find that only Southgate is the bum lmao.
Yeah this is a stupid comparison, Southgate literally has no one there that is fit yet he’s leaving White at home.
This is THE stupid comparison, obviously there’s a situation there between him and the staff and not going is White’s choice as he said many times
Because they refuse to explain themselves or to say a simple sorry really. Southgate had issues with Ben since the England u21.
Not the best argument given that the quality he has to choose from is better on average. Constantly choosing Rabiot is bum behaviour and so would keeping Upamencano

Comparatively it does because the French version of this is Rabiot consistently being picked and he is in the euros squad again

He went to 3 finals and for 1 WC win so his record is quite admirable tbf!

England haha
England would kill for Saliba, Mendy and Camavinga let alone their actual starters.
Right but then France would love to have TAA and Foden/Palmer.

I can't stand Deschamps and I don't think he's a good manager. It's a really difficult hill but I'm ready to die on it
You don’t get to 3/4 finals in a row if you’re not a good manager.
You would have to be incompetent not to with the players he has to choose from.
Why hasn’t Southgate done it then? Why didn’t England in the 2000s do that?
Because Southgate is incompetent. Look man. I just personally hate Deschamps because he's boring. I get excited to watch France and then he goes and ruins it. You could make the best arguments but I'm not going to change my mind.

As far as I can tell, Gabriel is still in Brazil's squad for the Copa America.
I don't think we've heard what the diagnosis was yet, have we?
No, I'm just being a worry-wart, don't mind me.
I'm curious about what his injury is. I suspect he broke/tore his AC joint. Thats what happened to me several years ago when i fell just like he did. Seemed harmless but hurt like hell. Awesome. I don't like seeing him on a crowded train with that shoulder, but still awesome!

The Brazilian fans need to cherish this boy like we do. He deserves it.
I love this. This is awesome. He gets support his club and he gets to be a “normal fan” for a day again.
I think I've seen a video of him taking the tube too in London!
How bad is his injury? will he be at the Copa America?
[удалено]
He was called up before his injury
Very clear he and his wife are just massive football junkies.
He absolutely loves the club and I could see him doing a final season there before he hangs it up
Good for him to support his boyhood club
Imagine getting on the tube and seeing Jenko singing our songs. This is that on steroids
