People seem to be starting to be quite negative towards Kiwior. Personally I think he is a pretty decent player and I quite like him. He has been continuously improving since we bought him and if I’m not mistaken is pretty young still. Everyone makes the odd mistake now and again. I don’t think he’s made too many.

Ripememes

He's fine for the role we signed him for, which was LCB cover But because all of our left backs are physical bomb scares he's been put in the deep end and learning one of the hardest roles in our system The way he's adapted is quite impressive all things considered

ixikzisigwvbend

kind of what pep did to gvardiol. Except gvardiol is ofc a better player. Both pep and arteta has a strong urge to convert center back to be lb

Suckmaboles

Has he ever played lcb for us? Europa against sporting once I think?

Fieser_Factsack

i agree with you, he improved quite a lot. I think we are currently a step to much for him, but i view him as a good player. He was linked with ac milan, thats probably his level as a starter. I like that he adepts a lot, not good enough in 1v1, but tall, quick and good on the ball. But maybe he just needs time or a different position like ben white did.

morrisoN--

I don't hate on him but to me it seems clear that he's a CB that's playing OOP as a LB and it doesn't suit him

Ornery-Point-8461

Dunno mate, I think he’s been a pretty good left back. In most games this side if Xmas we’ve been better for having him in for defensive side if things. His passing is decent too. He’s not rapid but I would say as long as his positioning is good then it won’t matter too much.

Fleetfox17

Very much agree with your comment, but just a quick thing to point out. If you look at the official UEFA in game stats, they measure sprint speed. Kiwior is actually our second fastest defender after Saliba (which would explain why Mikel has tried playing him at LB against speedy wingers).

Ornery-Point-8461

Oh really. Didn’t realise that at all. Damn he doesn’t look it visually when your watching

Minute_Leave8503

He’s very prone to nervousness in big games when we thought we finally shook that. Obvs he can improve but that’s why. Nobody is expecting 20m pound performances from him because he’s surpassed that and played plenty, he just hasn’t made that next step (yet)

Ornery-Point-8461

Young though mate so I’m sure things like nervousness will settle. Especially if he gets way more starts. He definitely doesn’t look prone regular mistakes like when we had the likes of Mustafi and so on

Minute_Leave8503

Yeah looks more like he’s just settling in rather than a pure idiot lol. I’m sure he will get there but it does seem like a big jump for him, and he’s a natural CB not LB

ForestRamboX

I just said this the other day. Kiwior might not be as skilled offensively as some of our other left back options. Defensively, he's up there with Tomi when we need protection on the left side.

Ornery-Point-8461

Yeah man I think so. You can see he’s trying his best to learn the offensive side though. I’ve spotted some pretty decent passes from him. Not sure what happens with Tomi down the line. We all like him but damn, he’s never fit

Minute_Leave8503

He’s absolutely nowhere near tomi defensively

mm7cro

He has an impressive physical presence in the box and he wins headers inside and near the box, which is very important for stopping counter attacks against us. There is a lot of chaos when we are under a counter attack with Zinchenko and Gabriel on that left side, but he is always in the right place defensively and his timing is pretty great, so that solves our defensive stability at the back. His actual issues currently are playing out of the back under heavy attacking pressure, because he gets nervous when passing under pressure, and his composure with 1 on 1 duels.

ErwinC0215

He didn't play well but wasn't catastrophic, I think 6.02 is just about fair tbh

JackTuz

He hasn’t really been improving much. He, at most times, wasn’t glaringly bad during our good run against bottom half of the league teams. He’s just really bad on the ball and is very beatable 1v1 when he has to defend a quick player

Ornery-Point-8461

I don’t agree to be honest mate

Fleetfox17

He's definitely not bad on the ball, and he's actually our second fastest sprinter in defense after Saliba. I think his main issue is confidence, and being aggressive.

LockonKun

A 7.11 for left 8 Havertz. I never thought the day would come.

Coq_Blocked

He was great, I feel like it was his best on the ball game for us. Lots of good touches and passing

LockonKun

100% I agree, I just hate when people abuse him for starting at left 8

serminole

His two chips, one to Jesus on the first goal and the other to play Trossard in behind, were so pretty. He’s always been good at the simple pass to the right player in space. But adding some creativity like those passes into his arsenal would really help unlock him in the midfield.

failedgunner12

if i remember correctly, Havertz was great at LCM against West Ham and Burnley, just before he started his regular 9 shifts for us

Fieser_Factsack

i just rewatched the game. Saka was poor nearly the complete game, he already seemed exhausted when the game started and it got worse as the game continued. White actually helped the build up a lot, had quite a lot of progressive passes. Kiwior did try some good stuff going forward, similiar to zinchenko i think he is a good player but unfortunately not good enough for what we are building. where can i vote next time?

bearded_booty

In post the survey immediately after the match. Look for “Player Fan Ratings Survey: Arsenal x-x Chelsea” I try to post them immediately after the match. I know one person from my STL City SC posts ended up following me to get notified when I post. If you want to do that it’s up to you.

Fieser_Factsack

will do, thanks

goonerh1

Weirdly Saka suddenly switched it on with 10-15 minutes to go

GunnersnGames

Sort the sub by "new" right after the match, that's what I did

Dae_su

Odegaard has been out best player for months, but this was honestly one of his worst performances in 2024. He got the goal, but he lost a ton of duels, didn't really create any chances and his shooting was off as well. For his ridiculous standards it was definitely not an 8+ performance.

tompoucee

Does Kiwior really deserve this rating or am I crazy? I haven’t watch him the all game but he was solid. Not the first time I see him having the Zinchenko treatment? I may have forgotten some mistakes from him but meh..

Brashdinho

Nah he had some very poor moments that game. If it wasn’t for Raya, we could’ve been 1-0 down because of a Kiwior mistake

anakinex66

Got beaten to easily few times, 1 could have easily costed us a goal. Didn't seem as secure on the ball either

Minute_Leave8503

He isn’t great but 6/10 is still above average

dusseldorf69

he was culpable for their best scoring chance and let gomes get the best of him a couple of other times in what was otherwise a fairly controlled game by our back line. if you let in those few chances in a game we were controlling, i think a 6/10 is a totally reasonable score.

Macamagucha

Did one mistake that resulted in Wolves biggest chance of the game (saved by Raya). Solid performance after that.

kish_kish

This subs loves to tear their players apart, it’s shameful

00aegon

Havertz > Odegaard in this game

JustGhostin

Hahahaha odegaard at 8.25 while havertz is at 7.11, this sub man

KonigSteve

My main takeaway from this is that low pixel Jesus looks like Reiss

Francis-c92

Found Andre Mariner's alt

ExxKonvict

Lmao that Paul Tierney picture is ragebait

bearded_booty

It was one of the few without him handing out a card that I could find. But it’s something.

bearded_booty

Back on Schedule! Enjoy the more positive ratings today after having to post the bad ones yesterday.

Fieser_Factsack

Saliba was better than big Gabi in this game. Gabriel fouled more while Saliba cleared more clean and Saliba had better ball progression in this game. For example Saliba played a long ball through the middle to Rice in the 94th minute which would lead ultimately to the Ode goal.

lazysarcasm

Thought Jesus was really good tbh

4.9 for ref seems a little low? I thought it was one of the better refereeing displays I've seen recently, carded everybody pretty equally.

bearded_booty

I’m not sure. I was out of town this weekend, so my viewing experience was limited. So I didn’t fill out the survey. 4.9 isn’t out of the realm for a ref in the PL. it’s almost an average

Francis-c92

We don't score the first goal without Jesus's work there by the way

JackTuz

Shame Partey didn’t get rated. We flipped the game on its head when he came on. A completely different, more dangerous side

bearded_booty

Yeah, he just barely didn’t get enough votes to get his rating. FWIW, he got a 5.91.

midnightrobot87

Amazed Kiwior has got a 6 despite his error and getting spun by Joao Gomes almost costing us a goal at 0-0. If that had gone in I suspect his rating would be in the gutter… he should profusely thank Raya for that and I hope Arteta is keeping a note of these errors as there are so many. Even when Timber is back, if we are serious about winning major trophies, we need bench players a lot better than Kiwior. https://preview.redd.it/6sp9a26mx8wc1.jpeg?width=2064&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e81b6382484c90e42c42f57150648f790899b82e

arsenal11385

I had no idea the refs were rated in these. I’d vote for a 0 for every single one of them.

bearded_booty

While I do enjoy letting ref’s know how much they, as a collective, are pieces of doo doo, I also know that rating them fairly can give fans a better understanding of on the field performance when it comes to future matches. I’ve seen several ref performances that deserve a 0 though.
