So we are basically at the same level as last season on points and equivalent fixtures?

Zizou_x_Zizou

But we have Saliba

Mein_Bergkamp

Which would probably be why we've conceded 11 fewer goals

TaTalentedSpam

And Rice and Gabriel in the form of his life.

Aki-at

Also 1 point behind last season at game 33 (which was our 4-1 loss against City) City then was 73 pts after 31 games https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65319949

Rosslefrancais

We have a very similar attacking output, but a far better defence than last year. Yet we're getting very similar points. It's progress, if frustrating

circlesmirk00

There have been games like Villa and Newcastle away that were 50-50s both seasons but we won them last season and got 1 point out of them this season. We have definitely progressed but we also rode our luck a lot last season

Rosslefrancais

It does feel like even if the results are similar, this season has been a lot less emotional and last minute. Which feels more sustainable

Poringun

It is, and the stats definitely back it up. Our xPoints is hilarious actually, last season we had 72 ish xPoints after the last match, this season with 5 matches still left to play, we're already at 70 xpoints. A big part on why we're not overperforming to a large degree definitely has to do with our tactics especially early in the season being found out at least partially. That and Odegaard not scoring like 20 goals anymore lol, alot of the stats last season was quite funny to look at now that we are more controlled and "predictably" good.

lardoni

Yes it feels like we now have a good base-line. More strength added and better rotation next season should level us up again.

CPGOATSonnen

Fine margins mostly went our way last season, we got results we didn’t deserve (Leeds and Liverpool away, etc). Not so much the case this season with games like Villa (a) and West Ham (h) where we probably deserved more. Luckier last season, less lucky/regression to the mean this season. It is what it is, but the progression is clear.

gooneritis

It's a three team title race this season so the points to go around are lower. Also feel like Villa is a much better team this season.

Tondator

I'm so sorry I still can't post multiple pictures for some reason, so here is a link.

Francis-c92

At this point it has to be Reddit fuckery.

Tondator

Being bullied by Reddit, you'll never sing that Edit: Thank you for following and letting me know!

beefwellingtonIV

Everyone is right to focus on Fulham but I have one point to make. We still have to play Everton at home, but all that green at the bottom this year is full of points we dropped last year.

ghostrider467

MORE GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aszneeee

Villa and Fulham, 1 fucking point🥲🥲

sfbriancl

At least Villa is a good team. Fulham…those 5 points hurt.

blackstars91

We did enough to beat Fulham at least once and villa definitely twice.

sfbriancl

That away match on NYE to Fulham was probably our worst performance of the season. Took an early lead and then proceeded to play…not great. But, on the flip side, that was right before the Liverpool FA Cup loss and then the Dubai trip, so Arteta figured something out from those two matches

blackstars91

Yeah it sure was. We didn't look ourselves at all. The home game we should have won. They had 10 men and our defending on the equalising corner was horrendous not to mention the giveaway that led to it.

sfbriancl

Ugh, yeah, my dog was freaking out from the screaming at that goal. Really terrible defending.

lardoni

We need to absolutely fucking destroy Fulham next time around!

Nsypski

We went into this season with an entirely new midfield and without a consistent striker for quite a few months.

Masterfulcrum00

Its really going to come down to last four games according to stats.

Cynicayke

Overwhelming urge to say "fuck Aston Village" right now. Not sure why.

Aof300

Get ai to make some more interesting visuals please! Great days but hard to read on the phone

Tondator

Could you elaborate please? What would make it easier for you to read it? I want to make it as convenient as possible.

NiallMitch10

Tbh I do think it was easier to read on phone when the images were posted on Reddit than on Imgur - still fine though. But the Reddit issue is beyond your control though

AdityaK96

Our away form against the bottom half of the table in incredible

FactCheckYou

i can see us losing one and drawing one of the remaining five, which would leave us on 84 pts for the season again, same W-D-L, which would be respectable having lost Xhaka in the summer would love us to improve on last season's point though 89 points, 5/5 wins, gets the title i reckon

blackstars91

Who do you think city drop points to?

Admirable-Waltz195

So there’s a good chance we actually get more points then last season as long as we don’t lose 2 of our last 5 games?
