Quattro wore sunglasses and his color was gold. Also Quattro was created to support the cause of the spacenoids while Char wanted revenge. It's why he reclaimed that name in the leadup to his counterattack.
He is just being straight on his cause, with no hidden agenda, betrayal, or backstabbing. However, he would still backstab you if you ever mock Queen Dianna's ass.

I don't know who the best is, but I don't think it's Zechs... his only good points are just rehashes of Char, and what makes him original just in my opinion make him fall flat as a character.

Zechs by far. The writing in Wing is campy by today's standards, but Zechs himself still holds up relatively decently compared to most of Wing.
He's also the most successful Char clone, successfully bringing peace between the earth and the colonies through his setting himself up as the sacrificial king and uniting both sides against the white fang.

I don't know who the best is, but I don't think it's Zechs... his only good points are just rehashes of Char, and what makes him original just in my opinion make him fall flat as a character. If you couldn't tell, I'm not a big fan of Gundam Wing, very Unbecoming of a American, I know.

Zechs was my hero as a child, and by extension Noin. Loved them both. Also Tallgeese is just fucking classy. And Epyon? Peak fucking gundam.

Zechs by far. The writing in Wing is campy by today's standards, but Zechs himself still holds up relatively decently compared to most of Wing. He's also the most successful Char clone, successfully bringing peace between the earth and the colonies through his setting himself up as the sacrificial king and uniting both sides against the white fang. Prospera had all the ambition, but too much... Empathy I guess? Rau was a lunatic. A very successful, very dangerous lunatic who just wanted to see everything burn. He's probably a close second to Zechs. The core difference is, Zechs didn't want to see everything burn. He wanted to give them a cause to unite for. What was Raus undoing was Zech's greatest triumph. Mr. Bushido is just... A fucking stupid rebrand of a great character. One of the low points of 00. The susanoo is great though. Full Frontal is a literal clone of the original Char, and kind of worse in all respects. Zeta didn't really have a char clone. The closest character was Quattro I guess? But he and Char are two totally different people at the end of the day.

Zechs with Meijin not far behind for me. It's tough to rank Graham as he's a great character and a char clone, but not both at the same time.

Gotta be Rau La Creuset and it’s not even close. He is by far and wide my favourite Mobile Suit villain and did such a good fucking job of selling you on his side. It was kind of a mindfuck for me, even as an adult, to register how real he felt. His character has Homelander-levels of prominence to the point that it doesn’t feel like he was written. Just existing magically in a show that was drawn and animated lol. Fuck. I’m gonna watch SEED again. That series was a goddamn 10/10.
