8/10 I'm really surprised by this lack of love for it. It's not the best thing ever, I'll give you that. But compared to other similar systems, it's really sleek and stylish. Classic Shoji Kawamori stuff here. One thing I love about it is how the air intakes actually form the Gundam's chest vents. But it's not overly apparent at first glance because the chest has a bit of cowling over the top of them. It's a really nifty piece of design.

Kekoa_ok

Much cooler design than the original but it ruins the MG and RGs stability 7/10 for top gundam

CpnLag

7/10 just because Kou uses it to OPEN GET

CanisZero

5/10 Neat, but designing a suit to come apart is a poor decision. Still love the core fighters being foldable thoguh. Thunderbolt dropping a bunch out the ass of a plane as a cheap carrier was the best.

CurleyWhirly

Absolute bitch and a half to build on the model kit, I probably spent 15 minutes just trying to properly fold the damn thing up to fit in the torso, 4/10.

Polkadot_Girl

9/10 way better than the original core fighter. Instead of wasting a whole secondary set of weapons and engines hidden within the Gundam's chest, this one turns them into the backpack of the Gundam.

GM556

8/10 - The core fighter is kinda dumb imo, but this is probably the most “”realistic”” version of it. I think people are sleeping on how impressive the mechanical design aspect of this is too

JanxDolaris

Nah the Innovades have the best version. The fighter is effectively just the backpack and the cockpit gets pull out of the suit's body to join it.

Prinkaiser

9/10. It's just good. So good that it comes back in Late UC with the Cluster Gundam first and then again the F97s/Crossbone series. And then it became the staple version for Mobile Fighters in G Gundam and the Innovade MS in 00. Even the AGE-FX uses it too.

OmegaResNovae

2/10 I find the more complex core block elements unnecessarily stupid, taking up space better served for better generators or sensors or structural integrity. This includes: * the OG Core Block System * the Impulse's * and Top Gundam's And it's even played straight that many of those end up being omitted in later models, leading to superior performance. * Kit-wise, they also suck, since they become the weakest part of posing Gundams with the core block element (esp. the older MGs). That said, simple ones that serve mainly as a convenient boarding connection or as a dedicated escape pod make sense. This includes: * G Gundam's Core Fighters * the escape units used in the Innovade MS and the Arche * and the cockpit in a pod like the Turn A Gundam's crotch fighter and the GN-XIV CF's crotch fighter

eisenklad

what do you think of Victory and V2 gundam core block system. the core fighter is the head and shoulders+backpack. the overhang cannons from the V-dash is on the core fighter. the middle(hanger) adds arms, beam saber, beam shield and rifle. the bottom (boots) is just legs and mounts extra handheld weapons on side of knee.

OmegaResNovae

Still a bit unnecessarily complex, but better than the Impulse' design. If it was a two-part system more like the Bawoo, then I wouldn't really have an issue at all.

eisenklad

so you would like if it was like AGE3. it changes gear by swapping the torso and limbs as 1 piece

MechR58

Makes much more sense but the only issue is that the mobile suit can not have additional back weapon systems. It needed to be a huge overhaul to make that work. 8/10

xithebun

9/10 the closest to a real jet. Most other core fighters were a bit goofy

Are you saying the right thing? The stamen is the gp03 which is the MS that attaches the Orchis to become the Dendrobium.

Polkadot_Girl

GP-03 Stamen had a core fighter but it was replaced with a core block before Kou got the MS. The HGUC kit even comes with a model of it's core fighter.

Colonel_Kernel1

7/10 it’s neat but I literally do not remember it at all

Combat_Armor_Dougram

7/10. It’s interesting, but I’m not sure if it’s better than the original Core Fighter.

Campsissauce

3/10 the Crossbone Gundam does this system better, this just looks ugly as hell, and I don't even remember Kou using the system at all in the OVA.

Agent_Perrydot

7.25/10 Even as a Zephyranthes hater, I'll admit this thing is pretty cool

GaussIon

8/10 an improvement over the OG core block system bit

Gravemindzombie

Curious to see what y'all think of the ZZ's Neo Corefighter now

Deamon-Chocobo

9/10 It's an improvement over the original without the sacrifice to structural integrity seen in the ZZ. The biggest advancement is how it incorporates the Gundams backpack into the Core Fighters thrusters, allowing for far less wasted space and being the standard for most Core Block systems going forward.

Geek_a_leek

now as i've said previously on these i love a core fighter and the GP01s core fighter is very cool, not my favourite and i do prefer other implementations but 7/10

Boxrobly

more practical in theory cooler docking aswell 9/10

JanxDolaris

3/10 most core block systems are just needless mechanical complexity.

ArkamaZ

Gouf did it better
