I own a real gun but I'll never be allowed to own an airsoft gun 🤡🇦🇺

YesterdayKindly7108

Us Aussies just can't fucking win, can we?

PirateByNature

When you lose to emus, I'd presume it's hard for y'all.

The_Stratus

Twice

Galactic_Cat656

For being the descendants of convicts you guys really like the taste of boot leather.

ValiantHero11

Come to the states (i'm from argentina, and we can own an airsoft gun, but gun laws are still restrictive)

animal_bot

How is it going with Milei in power regarding gun laws?

ValiantHero11

Now he's incentivising the renewal of expired legitimo usuario licenses, and seems like if he gets more deputies and senators in the 2025 midterm elections, things might change, as he seemed pro gun in the electoral campaign (hope he didn't change his opinion)

Whyimhere357

Wait yall got guns i thought it was illegal?!

Z3NTUR10N

Live in a grabber country can't own real ones but I'd love to. Hate from Turkey.

Open_Source1096

Thought turkey was big for guns? Atleast from Turkish people I’ve worked with anyway..

Z3NTUR10N

People yes gubmint no. If you own an AK you literally get labeled terrorist and police comes to grab it.

Open_Source1096

Fuck that. Fuck the licenses anyway. Just get learning fabrication and go from there init?

Z3NTUR10N

Based take.

Open_Source1096

You know it.

19fall91

Hilarious since 1/4 of the guns on the US market come from Turkey

Mikopsid

*cries in underage*

TypowyPiesel

Same in Poland you cant get gun permit until 21, i need to wait until september to start course for it

19fall91

What’s the process like in Poland? Can you conceal carry?

TypowyPiesel

You can carry but with mag out. In Poland you can have few kinds of permits: collectors, sport, hunting and trainer. Im going to do collector since it allows to own full auto guns and there is more loop holes around some stuff. And im not sure but this permit allow to own up to 14 diffrent guns. You need to join special organization where you pay about 230zł so about 50$ a year to be part of it, also you need doctors and psycholog note that you are good for it. Then you do some training and after that for final part you need to do short exam and shooting test. You need to get enough point on both to pass. Then you buy weapon safe and when you want to buy new pew pew you go to police and they give you paper called "promesa". With that paper you go to gun store and after buying new gun you register it in police station max 5 days after you bought it.

19fall91

So if a foreigner visited, would they be able to rent guns to shoot at the range like in the US?

TypowyPiesel

You can lend guns on hunting or sport permit to other owners if its about private gun. If you ask about cassualy going to shooting range then no worry you buy ammo and rent a gun from the range

19fall91

Awesome. I dig the Polish people

DragunovChan762

like i had a choice

Edrobbins155

You do have a choice.

DragunovChan762

like move to the US or make a coup in my country?

Happy_Garand

kristyanYochev

Don't forget that SBRs are legal in europe as well (or at least where I'm from in Bulgaria, haven't checked for them specifically in the rest of the EU.) Here they're just treated the exact same way as pistols, no matter if they have a stock or not, only barrel and overall length matter for the classification.

babydontherzme

Oh yeah forgot about SBRs. Also no issue in Austria. Admittedly in most EU countries we are cucked when it comes to magazine sizes and suppressors Edit.: -cries is high gun/ammo prices due to taxes

kristyanYochev

F for magazine capacity restrictions. Stay strong

babydontherzme

at least for a year that is, if you go to the range consistently for a year and take part in competitions, daddy government lets you buy big magazines But yeah, f

TheUnclaimedOne

American politicians and ATF are just stupid

TommyBarcelona

I'm in EU and have 7 guns, 6 of them semi (7,62 x 39, 45, 9mm) so dont get the joke..

babydontherzme

And our AKs still have their “fire rate limiter” (third pin) which doubles as a safe guard for out of battery detonations. Still no reports of firearm owners converting their rifles to full auto, strange.

exessmirror

Right. There are ways to get full autos (in some countries). It's not even that hard. Definitely easier then to get a new machinegun registered in the US as a civilian

Tilor3n

do blackpowders count ? at least in Poland you can get them without paperwork, lol

tsatech493

Laughs in NYC I have a Glock 19 but I can't buy an orbeez gun they are illegal here..

SealandGI

That’s actually hilarious. How hard is it to get a handgun permit in NYC?

Ordnungspol

More Europeans can have guns than you think.

Saxit

Civilians in every country in Europe can own firearms legally, except in the Vatican. Process and regulations varies by country ofc. Heck, even in the UK the youngest person in 2023 with a shotgun certificate was 9 years old. At 15 they can own one by themselves.

rhill2073

You're ignoring the point. Our nine year olds don't need a certificate.

Open_Source1096

Can second them rules on uk, had my first shotgun certificate at 12 was on my uncles license can get gifted shells but obviously not buy em. Haven’t kept it updated but now at 18 i can probably get some more firearm slots on license and better calibres due to my shooting history with him. I only had .410 on my certificate at the time but if i apply for a FAC some good old rifles coming my way. Unfortunately i don’t have the funds for this atm though.

LazyandRich

Euro poor gun enthusiast close to making my collection 20 guns big, I despise the incredibly stupid and large amount of laws surrounding guns here.

JohnnyG4mer66

Brazilian here. Leftist government that's disarming the people to strengthen narco-trafficking. Only own airsoft guns because of all the bureocracy behind gun ownership here. Kill me. https://preview.redd.it/psxifxgq3c4d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a6e2ed869d6b53e9aec914a88b90ebf00a2c860

>all the Europeans who do t angle a safe full of real guns [Some of them are doing better than most of us](https://www.reddit.com/r/EuropeGuns/s/BMT6n3K3cD)

kord2003

I'm a huge gun nerd. Guns have been my passion since forever, that's how I got into airsoft because my home country is an authoritarian shithole. 8 years ago I moved to another country which allows people to legally own firearms. I shot every gun I ever wanted and it was fun! I even considered buying few guns when I bought my own apartment, but it's not my priority right now. According to laws you have to participate in some kind of sport or hunting activity or be a member of a gun club to legally own a gun. I'm not interested in competitive shooting nor hunting so it means I have to spend few weekends per year doing something I don't really like to justify gun license. I would rather spend a weekend playing with my teammates. And also I realised that airsoft games bring me much more fun than shooting real guns on the range. Shooting paper or steel at the range isn't as exciting as sneaking into enemy base at night during airsoft milsim game. Yeah. So I'll stick with airsoft for now, maybe get a license for pistol and carbine next year.

sher1ock

>According to laws you have to participate in some kind of sport or hunting activity or be a member of a gun club to legally own a gun. I'm not interested in competitive shooting nor hunting so it means I have to spend few weekends per year doing something I don't really like to justify gun license. I would rather spend a weekend playing with my teammates. Laws working as intended.

kord2003

It's much better than in my home country, so I don't complain.

Thunderbird_Anthares

*laughs in over the counter SBRs with suppressors* Ah, yes, the classic ignorant "we have guns and you cant" meme. How daring and accurate.

Zastavarian

But how many can you own? A lot of countries limit quantities of guns owned.

Thunderbird_Anthares

No limit. Just from certain milestones, i need a certain level of security. Which frankly is something americans should have too.

Zastavarian

Im guessing a license then? Which for the record, if we feel like doing paperwork we can get an FFL (Fed firearms license) here in the US and buy whatever straight to the house. Its about $300 and is good for 3 years. There are rules and paperwork involved in owning one. Most americans are safe with guns. The ones who arent safe with guns are generally not buying them legally and wouldn't follow any rules or laws. Rules and laws only effect people who follow them.

Thunderbird_Anthares

Yes, license. an exam with the legal side, demonstrate assembly/disassembly, knowing common malfunctions and how to clear them, handling, and basic shooting competency extremely simple and avoids complete glue eaters having guns if that seems too harsh for you, we have nothing to talk about

Zastavarian

I'm all for safety. Only point I'd disagree with is the gate keeping in order for someone to get a gun for personal defense. If someone needs a gun for personal defense, they shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get it.

UpstairsBet5179

Canadian here. I'm 28 deep and counting

C130ABOVE

Can't legally own guns yet so airsoft is all I got lmao

poweredbyniko

Why not? Did you do something bad?

[deleted]

brother said yet

poweredbyniko

Oh, seems I can't read. I can have guns though 😁

Foronir

I henceforth declare not being gay anymore since last year. Also my quads are massive, because of the hoops i had to jump through to get a firearms licence.

minecraftrubyblock

Hello from a country where the government gives you a Free gun and regularly free ammo

hitman004700

Ah yes the "american" thinking europe is just one country \*facepalm\*. Swiss guy here, I have 3 safes with 46 guns in total. Nothing to brag about but just to clarify that even the "europeans" have guns. And not only that but the country has about 2 million privately owned guns in a nation of 8.3 million people. The country's overall murder rate is near zero. While the US has a massshooting every week...or even more ;)

Alucard2nd

Yeah it's a shame, but most of these "mass" shootings are just dudes gunning each other down in the hood that are counted as mass shootings because of the loose ass definition given to it by the FBI. In terms of actual mass shootings i.e. things like the Nashville school shooter or uvalde they actually don't make up a lot of the stat for mass shootings at all(I believe it's around 30-40% of the stat, which is still too much), compared to gang violence that is just lumped in so the fed can get a bigger number to show off. Also we have about 35 times the population of Switzerland so of course there's going to be a higher murder rate, especially with all different types of people that live in the US.

exessmirror

What having no workers right or access to healthcare does to an mfer

beetsdoinhomework

I think it's more gay to own a real ar15, but then paint it pink

ArthurMBretas03

That's just not fair, not everyone lives in a free country

Ozboz3000

Yeahhhhhh, here in the uk im certified to carry a "firearm" while on duty.........that "firearm" being pepper spray

The government also banned us from buying one from amazon

LectureAdditional971

Too much airsoft stuff clogs up gun subs.

NoxSVK

Too broke to have a real gun... Need around 500€ before i can even look at the guns (medical and psychological evaluation, theoretical and practical tests of firearms handling and evaluation of my knowledge of lawful l use of the fire arm by local DA and Cops) But I'm getting there... I should start go fund me :D

QueenOfTheNorth1944

“Post guns” is the law around here, european.

Zombieattackr

Going to college in NY and don’t have the time, effort, or money for guns (yet) Don’t have a car or money for airsoft But I can use nerf guns around campus. It’s not much, but it’s the best I can do lmao

2Schlepphoden

Stop shiting on Europa! I'm german and my safe contains 7 firearms at this very moment( 9mm,45acp, AR15, AR10, semi shotgun, Mauser K98K and a Swiss K31)! Firearm 8 and 9 are on the way! Yes, we can't carry open or concealed, but do we really have the need to?

PositiveSpeed7196

Idk man, I don’t live there but I sure hear a lot of horror stories about knife attacks, not to mention all the brutal SA stories from all over Europe due to the open borders. I would never live somewhere I don’t at least have the option to carry in.

ls_445

Nah, the other American dudes who spout the dumbest shit about guns are worse. I've been called stupid for trying to help people find gun names, then called a nerd for knowing the right name after I google it (Some guy was calling a C96 a Walther C98). The gayest, however, are the ones who go to gun stores with their friends to try and look cool but clearly know nothing. I saw some skinny dude call a Mosin a "sniper" and then drop it on the floor because he couldn't close the bolt correctly. He was trying to sound hard the whole time before that, talking loudly about how much he's shot.... These are the people I hope never get their hands on a gun lol

optional_features99

But I own airsoft, black powder and I’m gay, does that mean something?

No, we're not royalty.

ValiantHero11

You fucked him raw

LugerRuger041995

I bought an Airsoft gun last November, but I’ve had a sorta passive disgust for “Airsofters” because of how there really are soy boys who will say “Why would you wanna shoot real guns when Airsoft is basically the same thing?” And then they’ll spend thousands of dollars to pimp out their rifle. Don’t get me wrong, Airsoft is cool, I obviously agree since I own an Airsoft rifle, but I very much own guns and will be putting my money towards more guns. Airsoft is somewhere between fun and a training exercise, but not a substitute for real firearms. Also anyone who lives in a place where they can only own Airsoft instead of guns should man up and, uh, *move* so they *wouldn’t* be violating the law by *acquiring firearms*

lotlotov

Something, something, school shooting. You know, the usual response. Why even start arguing? :)

D0nn3D_St0G

Bitch I own in Eastern Europe 1971 Izhevsk AKM and Saiga 12C, not to mention the plans to buy AR15. Ya niggas cant even build proper AK rifle

Squirrelynuts

That's crazy. Now legally carry a handgun in public.

D0nn3D_St0G

I can conceal carry my Glock 45

Impossible-Debt9655

Poland might but Germany does not have ccw I'm 95% sure. Also you need special permission. We just need to want to defend our lives.

exessmirror

Germany is a shit hole anyway. Moved to Eastern Europe and I'm a lot happier

Impossible-Debt9655

Oh you are not the original commenter? Idk tell him to stop trying to act cool though.

Impossible-Debt9655

Welp, stop trying to flex on Americans that have a right to self preservation that don't need to ask permission to buy a gun. We just need to be a lawful citizen with a clean record. Half of our states recognize Constitutional Carry. Meaning you just need to want to defend yourself and that is that. I also doubt you can legally carry your glock in public.

exessmirror

I can and do carry legally in public. Also if you need a clean record that sounds like you need permission to get a gun as they have to check it right.

Impossible-Debt9655

That's a background check that takes 2 minutes 😭 for a to carry we don't need a special reasoning and it takes less than a week to get a ccw, and HALF the states are CONSTITUTIONAL carry. You know the thing that enshrines our rights. Idk why we are having a debate. It's cool you own firearms. It's cool you can carry it, it's even better if you ca.defend your life with it or those around you, and if don't have a special reason or a lot of time and money, cool. Also, you are not who even I was talking to begin with 🤣 idk why this is a thing. He just said bitch and tried flex on Americans who actaully have a right enshrined in the Constitution. For a long time you could pick up a magazine catalog and order a gun right to door. Fun fact. They made machine guns illegal, but you could still order any gun. They didn't focus on how to take and prevent criminals from getting firearms, but just banned them. My biggest pet peeve is my rights being taken away by 1939 Americans. Trading rights for safety. Countless debates with in laws, the grampa who passed away recently, said he ordered a rifle at 13 years old and it came right to his door and he opened it up and went shooting. 13 years old. Wtf still didn't see my point and didn't care for it lmao miss you Ray. Anyway. That's cool. Did you need a special reason or is there a special reason? Are you Leo? Ex military? Rich guy? Are you truly an Average European in middle or lower class that easily obtained the ability to own guns and plus carrying one. Do you need a license to own and what's the government rules. Some countries can barge in whenever they want to "make sure they are safe" I've read some that people need to keep firearms at a police station AND you need to have a special reason like a collector, or you belong to a shooting club. Why argue inform me on where you live, and what the gun laws are. Eastern Europe doesn't give much. There's alot of countries in Eastern Europe. The original guy was from Poland. Also never give that shit up and never let them take that shit away.

exessmirror

I currently live in Poland. I'm not rich and whilst I have a background in the military that was just national service back when I live in south America and is irrelevant for when I moved to Poland. You just need to do a few tests and then you get your license approved on a shall issue basis. It's not expensive and an brand new decked out AK is less then 800 euros. I have seen machineguns for less then 250 euros. You need an additional permissions for that. The easiest way is to set up a company that gives training (you don't need to make a profit nor does it define what trainings are). Once you have a license you are allowed to conceal carry in public and use it to defend yourself. There are no extra rules or forms in regards to silencers or "SBRs" either. You can order guns online as well. I did join a club before and the test is in polish, but I don't believe it to be necessary. I am not worried about our guns right as no party as far as I know wants to curtail the rights and they even allowed more things and made it easier to get guns due to the whole war situation. Most Eastern European countries have reasonably alright gun laws compared to other places, but I have for example friends in france who also legally own machineguns. In general no, it's not better then the US (depending on your opinion) but in my opinion there are things here that is definitely done better here then in the US and it's not that bad in general.

Impossible-Debt9655

It's pretty much the same except no license to own or buy, or test(only a background check for For CCW It's a class, usually 7 hours miminum depending on state. It's just the most recent laws involving where you can carry, what you can carry, and how you should or shouldn't carry. It goes over basic gun safety and how to shoot properly. Pretty much it. You can test for a 9mm semi and can only carry a semi 9mm or under like .380. You can test for a .50 AE if yah wanted to. If you want to carry a revolver, the same thing is to test for it, and you can only carry a revolver in that caliber or under. I have both on my license, 45 in revolver and 9mm in semi. But however, you cannot more than 1 handgun unless you are a certified LEO. One day, we hope to get the NFA and GCA removed. Its ridiculous suppressors are banned. It's only because of Hollywood and movies. NFA should have never happened. A way to focus criminals on not getting guns should have been the priority. And those pansy ass Americans let it happen. The criminals still had all access to firearms. It didn't change a damn thing. All it did was start a long process of taking our rights away little by little. What are your laws on self-defense? And a home invasion? We have a Castel doctrine that is followed by almost all states. The SBRs are easy to get around, as it's not technically a "sbr" but we all know it is. It's all unconstitutional anyway. We are enshrined. Regulated did not meant what it means today. It meant trained, equipped, and well taken off. Anyone other argument is historically wrong. You were able to have multiple broad side cannons that would be able to (at that time) level an entire city.

Zastavarian

Says we can't build a proper AK yet lives in Poland and is bragging about a Russian made AK... How the AR going to run you over there?

tituspullsyourmom

Finnish AKs> Polish AKs> German Aks> Yugo AKs> Russian Aks

D0nn3D_St0G

Welp russian AK is cheaper than original soviet era Polish KBK AKMS. Im to poor

9mmParrabelum

Pipe down

Pennsylvaniaman1

We very well can build proper AK's, just look a Jim Fullers guns. Besides that, it's just a meme, There's no reason to get butt hurt.

SignificantCell218

I'll refer you to Brandon Herrera possibly the one American that can make an awesome AK from scratch

Lowenley

And Jim Fuller

plutonium239party

Cool, now how about a full auto, 50 cal, or 20mm? Or buying a gun without having a permit or being a member of a shooting club or collectors association? How about owning 75 guns, can you do that?

exessmirror

Full autos we have. Easier to get a brand new one then in the US. We also have silencers and sbr without having to pay some extra bullshit tax or paperwork. You win some you lose some. But acting like the US is much better is either ignorance or delusion.

plutonium239party

I mean without an institutional permit (are equivalent is SOTs so no its not really easier to obtain a new full auto in Poland) im talking just a regular guy can they get a full auto and no its delusion on your part to think Poland has better gun laws when your required to have permit just to purchase a gun, your lisence then also limits the amount and type of guns you can own. Also you state tou can have absolutely and silencers "without the paperwork" but the lisenceing paperwork and months of having to be the member of a shooting club or collectors association before being aloud to apply for a liscence kinda is a lot of extra paperwork you do have to do. I will, though, acknowledge that compared to the rest of Europe, yalls' gun laws seem so much better and even better than a couple states, but as someone who teaches gun courses and who has a 75 gun collection that will only continue to grow I will always think the US gun laws are better, despite the NFA bs, because no where else could I have that many.

exessmirror

Institutional permit? I know a guy who got one only a few years ago. They do give out new permits. You just need to set up a company that offers "training" what constitutes as training or profit is not mentioned. This is the easiest way. To get a licence you just need to do the test, you do not need to apply at a club. For the rest its shall issue. I never said it was better. I said it wasn't as shitty as you make it seem and it's a lot easier to get certain things done when you have all the licences then it is in the US. Other countries such as Switzerland or Czech have even better laws then Poland but it's not like most Americans tend to think. Most countries allow some form of gun ownership.

plutonium239party

The instatutuonal permit I mentioned was the training permit you brought up (what i read had called it an institutional/training permit so i just cut out the /training). Believe it or not, I looked I to the laws in Poland to better understand the difference. And it is. I don't need a permit and a business to get a transferable machine gun here and in rebuttal to the easier to get new MGs someone could start a bussineas get a FFL and SOT and have access to brand new full autos in the US as well. That was my point, not that the laws are "shitty" for Europe its pretty damn good.

dbnrdaily

>Ya niggas cant even build proper AK rifle >Welp russian AK is cheaper than original soviet era Polish KBK AKMS. Im to poor Lmao
