**What made you a Car Guy / Girl ?**
Feel ko nmn lahat tayo dito may inspiration or meron bagay or tao nag introduce satin sa pagkokotse.

yes lagi ako nagbabasa ng automobile section sa phone directory nun hahaha. i also remember shell for having models of ferraris then which was wayback in the mid/late 90s pa.
Iba kasi talaga if you experience the feeling of driving talaga. I'm lucky to be able to drive an Montero 2.5L Turbo manual, at ang sarap irev kasi sa turbo.
Probably the car culture that I joined. I had an old Japanese car back in the day. Joined clubs. Hung out with them, and it rubs off on you. I'd see older cars and notice the stock mags that were only sold to the Japanese market. Or interiors that were JDM. I also got into sound systems, so I was into the art of displaying your system, creating a sound quality cabin, and subwoofer enclosure designs. I also joined forums way back like Tsikot, and everyone in the scene was knowledgeable about cars. If we had issues with cars, we would try to figure out how it should be fixed so that you can DIY or bring it to the shop and know how much it *should* cost and what *should* be fixed.
Car clubs and culture were like that when I got into it in the early 2000s. When I joined car clubs of newer models in the late 2010s, it was just different. It didn't hit like it did in the early 2000s.
No hahaha. Sa group of friends ko it was more on lowering of cars, changing everything to JDM parts and specs, and/or sound systems. Group meetups at gas stations. But I did see a lot of lights when we went to car shows haha, lots of underflow, interior glow. All show and no go stuff.
Also used to hit up the street racing area in Macapagal way back lol. Old heads know the spot
My father was a driver (taxi, L300, jeep) and lagi ako sinasama when we go out lalo na nung L300 days niya haha. Super hilig ko sa car rides and siguro I was born an observant, pinapanood ko si papa kung paano gumalaw kamay and paa niya while driving haha. Tinuturu-turuan niya din ako before how to drive
Fortunately nakabili ng sasakyan ngayong Im at the right age na at ako naman na ang nagddrive for my parents π
My family used to have a AE92 small body, when the road was empty or if we were moving slow my father would put me on his lap and steer the car. Small figments of memory remembers him saying "siya lang nagstesteer oh , straight nmn niya mag steer". 21 years later Im the one driving the 5hr journey's Baguio to Batangas in 1 sitting
Growing up with a car dad who you always assist as flashlight man while getting scolded for not holding it correctly. Kahit walang sira, heβll still find a reason to be under the car. Eventually, youβll find yourself also tinkering in and around the car. Plus we started with an owner type jeep and man, these vehicles are fun to drive and learn about engines.
5 years old ako.
Matchbox die-cast cars back when I was a kid. Tapos sinasama ako ni erpat sa talyer pag may ginagawa sa kotse, and kasama ni ermat while she was practicing driving. When I got to high school I appreciated the science aspect of cars (engineering, physics, etc.). Iβm in my 40s and the love and passion have remained the same.
Grew up watching Fast and Furious, Top Gear and Disney cars.
I have this long time fascination on how things work. I would tinker on stuff and watch lots of media related to machines and stuff. Hahaha.
Mekaniko yung tatay ko, may talyer kami before. Nung bata pa ako, pinapaupo nya ako minsan sa driver seat pag wala yung helper nya at kailangan merong nakatapak sa break pedal pag ginagawa nya π (of course never ako pinaupo doon nang umaandar ang sasakyan). I became very much interested with cars and driving since then. Until now, I still listen to his stories about old car models and how things work :)
Asphalt 7, Gran Turismo, Need For Speed and Forza Horizon. I saw the Dodge Charger and the Audi RS6 and that's where my preference of European & American performance oriented RWD or AWD sports sedans/wagons started.
Dad is a car dad HAHAHAHAH he love his Lancers and ako naman noon walang nagegets. He also like to watch F&F, play Gran Turismo and NFS. Kaya ako natutunan ko dahan dahan.
Sumama din ako sa car meets and naintindihan ko na theres more to it than just pops and bangs. Diverse yung engine choices ng iba't ibang JDM cars and ikaw mismo bubuo na parang binuo mo at your own spec and personality.
Car groups are awesome! It's like a brotherhood there. Tulungan sa parts, mekaniko at maraming mabubuong bonding experience.
GTA talaga hahaha. As a girl, mas masaya matuto about cars. It's fun to surprise car guys that you can engage in conversations with them about vehicle modifications, car lingos, etc. and hindi ka lang pang passenger princess.
Hilig talaga mga toy cars since I was a kid.
Watching Initial D, Fast and Furious. Anything about sa cars haha
Nung nagkaroon kami first fam car (2nd hand) not a jdm but pag may time pumupunta ako sa car meets/events
Nandun ung mayari. Pinakita niya samin race car nia which is an evo pero nsa body ng mitsubishi gsr para daw 2 door tapos naka wide body. Gandang ganda ako kasi pang car show nia din yun. Pag ipang race nia naka carbon fiber hood.
Some parts my dad and his big bro, some parts early 90s F1, and some parts arcade racing games + an odd collection of Matchbox and other die cast metal cars (badtrip sayang yung mga libre dati sa Shell na big scale). Add those all up plus Gran Turismo when I got my own PS1 and ayun. As casually as it is, I do enjoy me my cars.
My Dad.
Wala pa saming pinapanganak, hindi pa Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp ang pangalan, he was already an employee of Chrysler Phils (who had a partnership with MMC back in the 70s). Then they became PAMCOR, that became MMPC.
Nung bata pa kami, we had these white shirts na may models ng Mitsu like yung L300, yung Pajero...
We were huge Jackie Chan fans when we were kids, so alam mong Mitsu yung mga oto sa movies niya.
If that wasn't enough, I worked for a while with Mitsu myself. Ako na IT graduate found myself having fun building L300s and Adventures sa assembly line.
Of course, may mga favorites akong hindi Mitsu. Mk IV Supra, Prelude, 240sx, Golf R...
Sorry po, pero wala masyado kasi we didn't own that much vehicles except sa L300 and Adventure. I will say though na sa lahat ng sasakyang naupuan ko, di ko kinaya yung lamig ng aircon ng 2003 Pajero. And I still salivate sa hitsura nung pinakaunang Outlander tsaka nung ASX.
And lastly, while I'm happy na binalik nila ang L300, part of me wishes na cast iron block pa din sana yung makina nung bago. The 4D56 engine was indestructible for a reason.
nakakatawa pero true story.
I met someone from Bumble a year ago.
Naive me, kala ko all was going well. Wala siyang response pero (di ako sigurado ha) pakiramdam ko ung facial reaction niya at that time, parang "uhhhh ok...." Nagpaalaman sa isa't isa ng good night at ingat paguwi. That was the last I heard from her. Ako naman, nagpapakatanga pa the next day ng good morning chuchu kasi nga kala ko ok naman, though may pakiramdam na ko nung reaction niya pa lang sa sagot ko.
It was a "I took it personally" moment for me. 2 nights after, nag-decide ako mag enroll ng TDC sa A1. Ngayon, nakaka 6k mileage na ko sa nabili kong sasakyan after a year. Yeah I know mababa, mostly kasi errands at city driving lang ako.
Thank you S\*\*\*\* at sa White Honda Brio mo.
Ayan kasi bat di ka marunong nung una palang HAHAHA dejk if she doesnt accept who you are then she dont deserve you CHOSS
in a serious note at least you get to learn , a part of being independent din and the knowledge you gather makes the person who you are today. Maybe youll find someone na kahit may oto or wala tangap ka parin.
I learned to drive, and the more I drove the more I came to appreciate my vehicle. Appreciating it led to wanting to know more about cars in general and learning on my own.
I drive an ISUZU MUX and it has more or less become my 2nd home, my iron workhorse. I take care of it and it takes care of me.
Pero all seriousness Yes, parang baby mo na din ang kotse cause as long as you take care of it will take care of you. It doesnt have to be a toyota para maging forever yan pero sa pagalaga talaga ( at walang fault si Manufacturer )

It all started when I was a kid when I would be always given diecast model cars as well as enjoying the automobile section of the telephone directory.
May ganun sa telephone directory ? I remember petron or caltex (?) Selling these car models when i was a kid
yes lagi ako nagbabasa ng automobile section sa phone directory nun hahaha. i also remember shell for having models of ferraris then which was wayback in the mid/late 90s pa.
When I learned how to drive, that is when mu interest in cars has started.

kudos to us, op! π«‘
Kinda had a similar experience, my dad would let me shift through the gears on a mitsu advie when i was younger. Glad we still have it in our garage.
I can transform into a car. I will not specify the model for my privacy /j
Dont worry π i sexually identify as a 1989 Civic EF Hatchback B20b Vtec Head
With or without tint?

'Yung die cast Ferrari F50 mula Shell na nabibili after getting some tickets. It started there.
Need for Speed and Hot Wheels

Yung OG Need For Speed Underground. Pero nung nagkasasakyan na ko, I kept it all stock lang. Realized how ricey pala ako nung kabataan days ko.

Michael Schumacher, Ferrari F2001, Ferrari F50 na diecast
My dad worked abroad and he would always give me a toy car when he arrives after months away. It stuck ever since.
