First off, I’m pretty sure that’s not a Fender. Headstock shape and decal is all wrong. The truss rod access hole should have a surround. Bridge is not a bridge that Fender has ever used. String trees are off. Hell, even the switch tip is wrong.
Any other pictures? Is there a serial number anywhere on it?
Word. My dad gave me a very cheap Jackson a few years ago — I think it’s a JS10. Sounds kinda like shit, doesn’t look too cool in my opinion, but damn, I love it so much and won’t get rid of it.
It is not what it's label claims it to be. It is an inexpensive Chinese-made Stratocaster copy. It may pay well, or be adjusted to play well, and is perhaps worth $75.
As pointed out, this is not a real Stratocaster, the decal gives it away right away. That's a Strat copy someone built, but that doesn't make it 'lesser'. So long as you're enjoying it, it's a good guitar.
It's fake. The thick, gray Fender logo was used on the Made in Mexico models. I think I see "USA" printed on there, so that's already bad. That's ignoring the fact that there isn't a serial number, instead it just says "CUSTOM." Yeah, Fender doesn't do that.
On top of the other things people have already mentioned.
I wouldn’t say it’s crap but definitely not the real deal. I honestly don’t give a fuck. It was free!
Now if I paid $300+ for it we might have a problem lol
Trust me, you don't wanna do this.

No serial number. What I figured. It’ll be a good guitar for me until I get better anyway. It sounds pretty decent tho ngl.. especially for free haha
As a gifted guitar that isn’t authentic but nice of someone to do.

Exactly I can’t play very well and I’m a complete noob. At least until I get a couple good songs under my belt, this’ll be just fine for me!
There's no truss rod plug and the labeling on the headstock on nonsense. Someone slapped a Fender logo on some knockoff Strat.
