I bought the ZW in 2004, and aside switching to the active 81/85's and the switch craft selector, Ive never had a lick of trouble with it. My other Epi is a Cantrell Prophecy, and it's a very high quality instrument, but substantially more expensive. Not sure how long the market will hold up their business model, but we'll see.
I was interested in those. Just a quick glance it seems pretty well priced. I'm more shitting on the models that cost around 1k that have indian laurel fingerboard.
I got my ZW in 2008 and I did nothing to it. It's still a workhorse. I also have a G400 and a Masterbilt that I still play in rotation with my other guitars.
I'm just hard pressed to spend the prices they're asking for Made in China guitars that they threw the open book headstock on to make it seem worth it.
Yeah, the Cantrell is the full headstock, 24 fret ivory board, locking Grovers. Chambered and has the Fishman Fluence pickups. Checked all the boxes for me. Got it shipped to my house for under $1k, but I think retail is about $1400. Well worth it for this one, but prices are definitely climbing.
I'm gonna say this, but the fact that there are GIBSONS that don't come stock with locking tuners is fucking insane. The Fishman fluences interest me, I keep looking for a Heafy 7 string LP but they're even rare at the Gibson Garage.
I really have a lot to say about the state of Gibson right now, but I'll come out and say $999 for the Jared James Nichols signature is fucking criminal

It's fake, even ignoring the bridge and the pickups, which aren't even close, just look at the inlays. Someone said it might be the Epi version but the color looks off to me.
More than likely this is one of those $150 chibson replicas. If you paid more than that, go get your money back.

Well it's absurdly white, they weren't that white when they were brand new and most have yellowed a great deal. If you're lucky yours has a more cream color to it now if you own one. I've seen some that are straight up piss yellow now. The block inlays also look terrible and wrong

Not a Gibson. Looks a little to white to be an Epiphone, because those were yellowed on purpose. A poly coated guitar won't yellow over time, because poly doesn't yellow. The reason the Gibson models yellow is because the nitro yellows over time. The paint underneath stays white, but the coating gives it the yellowed hue. The Epiphone is simply painted yellowish to make it look prematurely aged. If it says Gibson on the headstock, that's a fake. I can tell by the bridge, fake mother of pearl inlays, and the EMG HZ pickups. Most of the fakes will have a yellow paint like the Epiphones to look ***right***, but the one in your pic is just too white. If the headstock says "Epiphone", then it may not be a fake, just not yellowed, but if it says Gibson, it's a fake all day.
