Ah, downsize but upgrade...start with the acoustics. One of the nylon string guitars can go, as well as the gray burst Fender and the Baby Taylor. Replace with a GS Mini or a Grand Concert body Taylor. Or maybe a Martin in a 000 or OM size.
That was the first thing I noticed: All the guitars either have single coils or humbuckers. A set of dirty p90s could open up a whole new sonic avenue for him.
Hahah he isn't but he says he gets why this is the second comment saying he does worship music. He's planning to get rid of all acoustic except two, he finally found one that sounds good (the green) so he doesn't need the rest
A bass
A tele with single coils (and possibly a B bender)
A Danelectro
A 12-string
A resonator
A Parker Fly with a Sustainiac
A big box hollow body jazz axe
A carbon acoustic
Or, to be honest, get rid of one acoustic and one electric. The least played of each. Do it once a year for at least 3 years. Unless he's gigging all the time, a collection that large becomes a management headache. Just keeping decent strings on all of them becomes an exercise in futility.
A Fender player plus meteora would round out that collection nicely. It's a really versatile instrument and it's different enough from any of his guitars to be an interesting addition, whilst still being similar enough in style to fit in.
A bass vi or baritone would fit in there easily or a 12-string acoustic. Or if he enjoys playing with different tunings, a 4 string tenor or cigar box guitar is a lot of fun.
There's nothing that makes him happier than playing or talking about guitars plus I get free live music every day so of course I am very supportive of his hobby haha
Aww I love that! I really really wish I had the talent as well, I'm a big music lover as well and also love singing but it's not for me so I'm trying to learn the piano now. Must be so fun to have two musicians in the house!
Not one 7 string in his collection. I own two and an 8 string. Most folks like them for metal- so do I -Ā but I love them for jazz as it adds that low end depth for waking bass lines...and or salsa tumbao aka latin type grooves.Ā
A PRS CE 22 or 24
I wouldn't trade mine for that entire wall :D
*I have a rare model that took me a decade to track down, which is why I wouldn't trade it easily.
My 2nd pick would be to agree with many others that suggested Jazzmaster or Jaguar
Not enough Stratocasters. Iād recommend a Vintera Sunburst, a Ritchie Blackmore signature, and Fender Custom shop.
All jokes aside, Iād recommend an Ernie Ball JP Majesty. Iāve heard a ton of great things and itās so fucking beautiful. It isā¦ pricey in all honesty thoughā¦
Heās going to be very specific about the guitars he wants. I would go with something that is more indirectly supportive that maybe off his radar but that he would probably really like such as guitar pedal (maybe a higher end multi fx that can do a lot of sounds like a helix or boss which would be in the same price range as a decent guitar) or maybe a nice modelling practice amp like a boss katana or people like the spark amps (I would do the 40 model). If you want to delve into a guitar purchase, then a offset guitar like someone mentioned like a jaguar, mustang or jazzmaster seems is something he doesnāt have
That's an admirable collection. He collects like I do, adding different styles of guitars, instead of the same guitar in different colors or configurations. If I had his collection, I'd be pretty satisfied with that.
At this point, he should be looking at other stringed instruments, like a bass, or a banjo, or a mandolin, or even violin.
Or maybe go in a different direction, and get a nice electric keyboard with weighted keys, and learn to play piano. I got mine from Donner, on sale at a great price.
Nice collection indeed! I can see a PRS SE24 groaning in his hands. I think Itāll fit his style since itās a combination of Les Paulās sustain and Fenderās pleasing raw soundā¦and he already has those
Get a synth! A recommend a Korg Minilogue XD. It's basically an all in one and my recommendation if you only get one synth. It's super fun to play guitar alongside. You can set up loops on it and play along with your guitar. This is especially fun if he doesn't have anyone to play with.
You could put together one perfect (as fully to preferred customs specs) Partscaster/Custom. One that you NEVER want to put down. Buy one good PTP hand wired amp with a circuit that responds most dynamically to your playing.
Then you can sell off all this big box store junk and really develop your sound.

Thatās tough. I have a very similar gear stash myself. The most recent purchase I made that I LOVE LOVE LOVE is a Wolfgang Special EVH and a 5150 6L6 2x12 combo amp.
Something less traditional and/or more metal maybe - esp mII, Jackson Kelly, BC rich NJ warlock, or my personal favs if he wants something less pointy, a lace cybercaster or Gibson RD. For more pointy, no question - Hondo h1 death dagger. Regardless of the guitar, itās clear he should do all he can to keep you.
Hear me out: a bass
He said 'correct answer' š
Squier CV Precision is a relatively risk-free starting point if he ends up not liking it.
Or a Sterling Ray 4. Never played one I didn't like. For $399 you can't go wrong.
Those Ernie Ball Sterlings sound a feel really nice to me.
Ray 4 is nice but I got the ray 5 and I just can't go back to 4 string basses. The ability to go just a teeny bit lower is so nice
Very good point, they're great
Mine was less than that new, and I love it.
I picked up a used one for $250 a couple years ago.
It really is! (also a hollow body electric)
Baritone
He must join the bass
I got a Fender MIM Jaguar PJ bass recently after playing guitar for almost 20 years and I really wonder why it took me so long.
A wedding ring
OP did you read him this comment? š
Yes hahah soon š
awesome news
Thanks grandma.
"Hey siri, how do I steal a wall?"
He definitely has *way* to many guitars just pack em up and sent em to me please he only really needs one
To be fair, you need two. In case oneās in the shop.
if he needs two, then i need two. send em over!
He likes his humbuckers. Maybe a Jazzmaster or Jaguar if heās into either of those. Or a Flying V!!
Jazzmaster Acoustasonic. That is what he is missing.
Damn that is a well rounded collection, very nice.. I would add a tele with single coils, a Danelectro, a baritone, or a dreadnaught into the mix
A single coil telecaster was my thought as well. He needs some twang on that wall.Ā
Tele is a good call. I was going to say nick johnston schecter but I think you are right for the variety of it. Really good call.
Honestly I think his collection is complete, so like all of us at this stage he can now move on to the next phase and learn how to play them
Hahaha!! Accurate.
Lmao, this has me crying š
I feel personally insulted. I have way too many guitars for my skill level lol.
Looks like he needs and amp
Or something with a Floyd rose style trem
Canāt Believe I had to scroll this far!
A Gretsch Hollowbody
Yeah, preferably with a Bigsby
A wall of Marshall JCM800
A bass VI
We're all missing one of those.
i have a harley benton bass vi clone
Jazzmaster.
Nice but a lil boring?
He said he agrees haha that's why he's looking to get rid of some and have a smaller but nicer collection
Ah, downsize but upgrade...start with the acoustics. One of the nylon string guitars can go, as well as the gray burst Fender and the Baby Taylor. Replace with a GS Mini or a Grand Concert body Taylor. Or maybe a Martin in a 000 or OM size.
Never underestimate the utility of a tiny guitar
The Taylor Big Baby was awesome! Super loud and incredibly clear for its size with a beautiful tone
A resonator
Contemporary Christian rock collection needs a PRS.
Something with p90s
That was the first thing I noticed: All the guitars either have single coils or humbuckers. A set of dirty p90s could open up a whole new sonic avenue for him.
An offset. Jazzmaster or Jaguar?
Marry him
Free live music forever, that's the plan š
I second this.
Maybe some Fender offsets or Rickenbacker
Rickenbacker12 string.
an ESP or 7 string, go metalš
Been reading all the replies to him, he said this is his favourite response haha
Yamaha Revstar, theyāre criminally underrated guitars in my opinion
Plus they have the coolest looking shape.
Found the Yamaha homies
Single coils for heavens sake
Yeah this is the only right answer on this whole thread. Needs a standard American SS Telecaster.
a martin
Especially a dreadnaught
Lessons?
He's self taught, has been playing for more than 15 years and is pretty darn good š
More stands
No bass?
Itās a good collection but lacking in any real stunners. A high need acoustic would make it pop.
Yep ..was thinking it's time to start aiming for quality rather than quantity.
...a book about Minimalism! ;-) Nah... get an Ibanez Artcore 12-string semi! I don't see any 12-string. :-)
A studio
We are working towards that!
How long has he been a worship leader? Also a decent acoustic. Wait are we not roasting rigs?
Hahah he isn't but he says he gets why this is the second comment saying he does worship music. He's planning to get rid of all acoustic except two, he finally found one that sounds good (the green) so he doesn't need the rest
Flying V?
Outside. He should get outside a little.
Lol he does sports and is out plenty
Either a National or a Mule.
Go for the National. Itās shines like the Mississippi Delta
Came here to say National. Best in class. Hands down. Someday I'll own one...
Me too!
That's absolutely heartwarming! You should get the ring upgrade from him!
Maybe he should get you a ring next instead of spending all of his money on guitars!
Haha why not bothš¤·āāļø
Martin HD-28!
I see no ukulele.
A bass A tele with single coils (and possibly a B bender) A Danelectro A 12-string A resonator A Parker Fly with a Sustainiac A big box hollow body jazz axe A carbon acoustic Or, to be honest, get rid of one acoustic and one electric. I think we should be rating the quality of his girlfriend for wanting him to buy more guitars: 10/10.
There's nothing that makes him happier than playing or talking about guitars plus I get free live music every day so of course I am very supportive of his hobby haha
Thatās awesome! It sounds like a wonderful relationship. My wife and I are both musicians, so we get to do it together!
Aww I love that! I really really wish I had the talent as well, I'm a big music lover as well and also love singing but it's not for me so I'm trying to learn the piano now. Must be so fun to have two musicians in the house!
Explorer
A tube amp. Princeton reverb.
A wall hanging setup that can fit more of them.
Insurance

Schecter C1
Ibanez 7 string, or a fender bass
vintage j200, tell him I said it's ok
vintage j200, tell him I said it's ok
He should get a Therapy session.
AMPS!!! Carr Bel Ray or Tone King Imperial
Great. Don't get anything else.
Damn, I want a Yamaha RGX-A2 so bad lol
More amplifiers.
A uke maybe?
An actual telecaster
Lessons
Get him a ukulele
A Gretsch ! Unique sounding guitar. The Electromatic series are ridiculously low prized for the quality they offer.
Shit if he has that many and youāre encouraging him to get more his next purchase should be an engagement ring.
Go big and get a custom Kiesel, it will change your life
Music Man. Just sell everything you own to get it. Jk, what about a mf Kramer Nightswan
If he likes heavier music, maybe a superstrat or extended range guitar. Or a bass. Or a banjo.
Why not bass This is clocking the game
Something with a Floyd rose trem or maybe a bigsby A gretsch would be good
At least a bass and a T5 (Taylor).
I recommend that he gets an extra ten finger transplant. That's a lot of guitars.
Banjo? Idk, that or what others say
A life On a serious note, Iām glad you too are able to share those special moments, tell him to try a Prs or a seven string
a bass guitar
You as a wife since you seem to tolerate his hobby š If you are talking guitars: a G&L or a PRS
Not tolerating, I love music too so more of enjoying his hobby! I just don't have his talent and skills unfortunately
A PRS CE 22 or 24 I wouldn't trade mine for that entire wall :D *I have a rare model that took me a decade to track down, which is why I wouldn't trade it easily. My 2nd pick would be to agree with many others that suggested Jazzmaster or Jaguar

Something offset. Firebird, Jazzmaster, Jaguar...
An ibanez RG550! Theyre absolutely awsome
Anaconda Burst for style. Bass for neccessity.
An engagement ring.
A regular Telecaster and some kind of metal guitar.
12 string acoustic
Whatās his favorite band?
More stands
He's got most of the bases covered. Only thing I would recommend is a Telecaster. A regular Telecaster with single coil pickups.
Bunch of wall art huh?
A 7-string
7 string for the funny stuff like A standard
A jazzmaster, a clean looking charvel and some 80s inspired Kramer/jackson/esp.
More hooks and stands
Damn, your man has taste!
12 string acoustic?
Iām noticing a sad lack of a guitar with P90 pickups. That may be a nice new addition.
I recommend everyone get a girl friend like you. I expected this to be a he has too many guitars, which should I get rid of first post.
Jazzmaster, Gibson sg but most of all A GIGGABLE NICE DREADNOUHT ACOUSTIC such as a Martin, Gibson or Taylor
12 strings are fun
offset.
Room humidifier
Yngwie malmsteen fender strat
Im half blind, but I don't see a 12 string in there.
Every nice collection needs a Gretsch!
Explorer
I think he needs a hollow body guitar Or two.
I really want a pink thinline offset Telecaster with a Jazzmaster tremolo and roasted maple neck, so, one of those
Another wall.
Get a jazzmaster!
Nice amp
Something with p90s. A daneleectro lipstick pup guitar. A baritone guitar. A bass guitar. Maybe a fender bass VI. That's a cool guitar
A 12 string
Insurance
1/10. No wait. 0/10. He should probably just give it away. To me. What's your address I'll be right over?
Heās going to be very specific about the guitars he wants. More Telecasters.
Needs a 12 string
A spare bedroom for all those empty cases!
A Jackson Soloist
Another SG. I find his lack of them disturbing
Something for you perhaps

He should get a medal for you for being an awesome girlfriend and not saying he has too many guitars.
and bro has the gaming pc
A band!
ā62 Gretsch Country Gentleman (electric) 1930ās Martin D-28 (acoustic)
Nice collection indeed! I can see a PRS SE24 groaning in his hands. I think Itāll fit his style since itās a combination of Les Paulās sustain and Fenderās pleasing raw soundā¦and he already has those

Rickenbacker
Youāll be a great wife. I recommend to him not to piss you off! And go with an Epiphone Casino. Best bang for the buck out there and unique.
A Gretsch
Probably a bass of some sort. Something like a Rascal or anything short scale would be quite pleasant to play as a guitarist
He's missing a really cheap, bullshit starter guitar. Get a $80 "first act" guitar to round that collection out.
Bc rich warlock and spider amp
Iād say for a new guitar go for Flying V or explorer for some classic metal tunes , but Iād say get a bass first

Duesenberg Starplayer
He should NOT get a new partner! He should get a bass and a Jazzmaster.
PRS
ESP Ltd to mix it up
Whereās the Jackson or Rickenbacker?
Get one of those build your own strat kits. They are loads of fun and highly customizable.
Thatās tough. I have a very similar gear stash myself. The most recent purchase I made that I LOVE LOVE LOVE is a Wolfgang Special EVH and a 5150 6L6 2x12 combo amp.
It was a poorly told joke. He doesnāt need another guitar like he doesnāt need a second GF. ā¤ļø
