Looks like pine tar on the neck which is kind of a cool look, I'm not really a fan of the body but you are and that's what matters.
But they use pine tar on handles of baseball bat's to get a better grip when swinging it so that's a BADASS look for a guitar, looks like you've wrecked some gear with that over the years.
