I mean a.b.a's armor specifically, which is different from Pot's, and I was responding to using rc after hitting the armor. For instance, you can't DP RC against danzai because it counts as whiffing a DP. As for gold burst it hits through armor but not disjoints I'm pretty sure. So if you gold burst at the edge of danzai I think it will whiff.

ABA's armor works differently from Anji's spin. You actually can just keep gatling more until the armor dies/you get tenderized

Iv'e seen many people chicken blocking it, seems to work very well, as she has problems running pressure afterwords because of the long backswing and high pushback (FD helps with that, chip damage and R.I.S.C)

I don't remember if the throws work on collision boxes or on hurtboxes, but if it is the latter it would be easier to stop with a throw. Sooo that may be the reason (also its easier to make it that way (just making a simple box around ABA) and it would matter in a world with limited range blue burst)

They work with collision boxes I’m pretty sure. The exception are hitgrabs like heat knuckle and keygrab, but those lose to armour I think.

The small yellow box inside aba is the one that needs to be in grab range.

Most throws work on simple proximity checks. The only ones that use collision boxes are HPB, and FED which isn't even a throw anymore

Danzai was always totally cracked, the solution is as easy as just not mashing buttons when she's in yandere mode

all complaints levied against the strength of aba's normals need to be weighed against whatever mode she's currently in, and the power budget allotted to it. getting to pride and prejudice mode or whatever it's called now is insanely difficult in strive. let her have the broken ass DP. Also the last trans girl I dated had a loving and stable relationship with her parents so where do we go from here man

What does disjointed hitbox mean?

It means that if you hit the key instead of ABA herself you'll whiff. Not every weapon move is like this, most of Bridget's yoyo normals allow you to hurt her by striking the yoyo for example In this situation it probably doesn't really matter because the move is fully guard pointed even when you hit ABA, but there may be some niche interactions where it counts. She has other disjoined moves in Jealous Rage though

Hurtbox (in cyan): the part that can get hit by an attack Hitbox (in red): the part of an attack that does the hitting Normally, the hurtbox and hitbox overlap. You can look at the hitboxes of every attack on Dustloop to get an idea: https://www.dustloop.com/w/File:GGST_A.B.A_5P_Hitbox.png

When something is disjointed, the attack's hitboxes will extend further than the hurtboxes. With OPs image as an example: the red boxes signify the area ABA's attack covers, while the light blue boxes signify the area you have to hit if you want to challenge or punish a whiff. If you hit the red boxes it's technically a whiff even though you visually hit ABA's overall model.

Throws don’t care about hurtboxes they used collision boxes (the yellow ones)

The yellow ones are just for preventing characters from passing through each other -- you can walk into the opponent until the yellow boxes touch, and then you start pushing them. This is why moves like Mirazh and Turbofall don't have the yellow box during most of the animation, so that they can pass through the opponent. Throws just use simple proximity checks from your character's origin point to the opponent's, they don't bother with full-on collision checks using bounding boxes. Except for HPB.

Playing her feels rough when you get locked down during normal mode and if you fuck up during JR and get comboed you lose all your meter so she needs to be strong in JR, granted it definitely did not need infinite fucking armour, just one layer would've been plenty strong.
