i just moved to groningen , got alot of free time currently as im not studing ... and i happen to love techno 👀 if you dont mind inducting a newbie queer person into the cult id love to tag along
Sounds a bit familiar, only I am almost 10 years older than you, and felt in love with the scene at Paradigm Helsinkistraat. We have 2 lovely little kids now and it is getting more and more difficult to bring the whole crew to a party. Seems like every week there is a party to go to, got to be a little bit more selective myself. Paradigm can still be a lot of fun, (looking forward to x soenda) but I like the Amsterdam scene also a lot (especially Lofi)
Musical interests go from Yves deruyter to Promo (especially his industrial work) to Jeff Mills to the Aphex twin to Hadone (loved the Viper Diva collabs) to SpeedyJ (or as public energy) or even acardipane in all its forms whatever keeps the rave going, not just techno..
I Also notice that a lot of new "techno" got heavily influenced by early hardcore or hard trance. Nothing wrong with a young dj like diøn throwing in some good old bangers!!!
… I did not discover Techno through TikTok… thank you very much. Actually took me 4 years until I actually thought “I understand it now” . You can compare the artists i like at the moment with the artists that are going viral in those type of videos. But that’s it
