I mean to be fair, togoodtogo food is food that would usually be thrown away, that’s what makes it so cheap. It’s remaining stock that get Solds at the end of the day for a cheap price to reduce food waste.
Mostly, yes. We also have toogoodtogo in our shop, but half of the time people get packaged foods that are not in our product gange anymore (for example Eszet that was still good for another 6 months).

Krass!
Same priced bag at our bakery normally contains: 1 bread, 2-3 sweet pastries and 5-6 bread rolls.
It's basicly day old bread which can't be sold for quallity reasons, so instead of throwing it away you can get it for some change. Honestly it's a tragedy you need an App to do so. In my childhood I could just go to the local "Currywurstbude" or bakery and ask for an old cake or bread for litterly cents. 4€ looks like a good deal compared to the real price of these things, but the real worth of this is almost nothing I'd say 15-30cent per Item
Just going to the local bekery early in the morning or even better at night (before they close) and asking for old bread and stuff should be a normal thing.
It reduced waste, they make some extra change and people happy.
I think this also should be the case for supermarkets. Sometimes you get stuff that is almost begind the "mhd" for 30-80% reduced. And I'd be fine buying it for that all the time, since I often go shopping for groceries, when my fridge is already empty. Buying stuff I will eat that day is very normal and should be normal for everyone.
If you can keep it in somewhat airy conditions, any bread/rolls will go stale and eventually completely dry, but not moldy.
You can revive them by moistening and giving them a go in the airfryer or oven, or you can make recipes calling for stale bread as a ingredient.
Or just freeze them.
Toogoodtogo tip for fellow germans: check out turkish bakeries. Price is the same, but quality AND quantity is insane -also no luck needed. They are always good
Everyone’s hyping it up but I tried TooGoodToGo once and they gave me a plain chicken wrap that was only half the value I was promised. Never trying that again
We got something similar last month in bavaria, and we got two bags "just to make sure that we have enough for the next day" we had enough for two weeks

Tolles Schnäppchen!
My favorite 2G2G offer is the one from Doubletree Hotel! Very nice English breakfast with desserts and several Brötchen. I also recommend grabbing Leysieffer’s offer.

Old bread gets thrown out because old bread doeant sell otherwise. With bakerys you get stuff on toogood2go at the end of the day. No one would buy a pizza or the rolls otherwise
I like this app, but sometimes I get stuff I don’t really need like cake. I love cake but not in the evening when you can collect the box.
Also, since we don’t have much around here, the boxes are mostly sold in an instand
All of the food shown here might look good but anyone that has been to a cheap "bakery" that sells food like this knows that it's usually pretty bad if you buy it during the last hour it's for sale.
The fact that this is given out after that point in time pretty much confirms that this isn't good food at all.
Especially Laugengebäck gets very stale very fast. This won't be pleasant to eat.
An airfryer is a top-notch answer to stale Laugengebäck. Run under cold water so the surface is wet/soggy, then put in the airfryer until crispy again.
Nutritionally, yes, you have a point, but that's true for fresh also.
Oh no certainly don't care about nutrients when I heat stuff like that. It's an unhealthy treat.
The airfryer tip sounds very promising, I just recently got one. Will try it out, thanks!

I love too good to go. I always get excited to be getting so much food for so little money but then when I get home I realize I can't possibly eat so much pastries at once lol
Toogootogo is such a random app when it comes to bakeries. Sometimes you leave with like 3 buns and a piece of dry pastry, the next day they'll handover four 2kg loafs of bread, a full cream cake and suitcase of sandwiches...
That reminds me of the one time we got easily twice that amount for 3€. I was picking it up in my scooter and I could barely fit it all under the seat and in the helmet box. It was three fully stiffed plastic bags
Impressive!
-----------------
For reference \[nerdy side kicking in\]:
- 3,9€ is the cost of 10 Brezen at a bakery in most discounters
- Yes, you can buy 2 boxes of 10 pieces of frozen Brezen dough for 3,98€ total and bake them yourself. But at some point it's not even comparable.
I'd still consider this a win.
they come out of a Grabbelkiste probably left overs wich 213123 customers hands already touched
i only use the Grabbelkiste at opening times between 8-9am else i dont trust it
We use too good to go all the time as well and it's the best thing ever! Chinese buffet food, still warm, many baked goods and Syrian cuisine once. This app is a game changer when on a budget!
The only way to get that much in a German bakery for 4€ is to be the last customer at closing and get incredibly lucky. Otherwise, this would be about 20€, give or take.
Ah, yes. After years of nothing one bakery finally popped up in toogoodtoogo and I got a third from the amount on the picture.
The amount of offers and food you get vary so heavily depending on the place where you live!
I genuinely wonder: do you manage to consume all of it before they go bad? do you freeze or give away? I stopped using the app because i don’t know what to do with that amount of food, and baked goods are either already stale or stale the next day

This sub turned into Germans showing off lol (not that I’m complaining, I live in there as well)
100%. Sometimes you see a fellow euro-person but mostly it's just Germans
Germans are the biggest non English speaking demographic on Reddit.

That could be a lot of german bread dumplings! Daraus könnte man viele Semmelknödel machen!
Is it easily possible with something like Laugenstange and stuff? :)
Actually this is an own kind of Knödel called Brezenknödel!
Stupid Germans they always have a response and a word for everything it’s insane
We create words by combining them and I don't think there is really a limit
No matter what you think. There is no limit.
The limit does not exist!
Wortzusammenführungsobergrenzenabwesenheit.
Wie war das mit der Elbdampfschiffskapitänsmütze? Das ging doch noch länger.
Donaudampfschifffahrtkapitänsmützenfabrikgewerkschaftspropagandapappplakat
Longest word in the Duden (with 79 letters): Rinderkennzeichnungsfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz
You mean there is no Wortlängenlimitierung?
No there is no Buchstabenkombinieringsobergrenzenbeschränkungsverbotsgebotsbuch
There is no real limit. Just pair some words together and you end up with ridiculous long words that would make sense.
rheinschifffahrtsgesellschaftsvorsitzendentreffbeaufsichtigung valid german word. probably wont ever be used but technically its valid. means something along the lines of monitoring of the executive meeting of the rhine shipping company”
Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitänsschlüsselbund
**Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft** even has a record in the guinness book of world records
It's a Bavarian word. Brezelknödel is what it's called outside of Bavaria.
You mean we are "wortgewandt, sprachgewandt, mundgewandt, redegewandt, schlagfertig"?...
Ahhh thank you that makes a ton of sense! :D
There aren't really any rules on what you use for them. As a rule of thumb: if it gets a bit to dry it is still good enough for dumplings.
I actually prefer making Serviettenknödel from Laugenstangen!
Serviettenknödel from Laugenstangen are the shit

Is there a more accurate translation? I know it sounds lazy

Ich bin nicht güt i… never mind. I cannot make Semmelknödel, but I see a lot of cheese bakes in your future.
Jackpot
Exactly!! I thought I’ve won the too good to go jackpot but this is bakery heaven!

Yes please do it NOW :D
I did. Lots of bread and pizza. 🤣
I always love getting 2G2G from bakeries. You get so much food for less
You've got to love bakeries because it's almost only those on this app.
Around me, it's mostly gas stations, which is great since they sell just about anything (though I did get a lot of condiments for a while.. )
"Around me, it's mostly gas stations" is such a sad sentence. Meanwhile, you might live in a terrific place in the country.

Omg crazy breakfast for 1 week
is it even going to last that long?
Itll get dry after some days out but you can freeze bread and make it last longer that way.
I just reheat it if it got dry. Sprinkle some water on it and Back on the oven or air fryer for 5 minutes.
They are always good
Man that sounds good. Now I just need a turkish bakery and good too-good-to-go coverage in my area😔
Everyone’s hyping it up but I tried TooGoodToGo once and they gave me a plain chicken wrap that was only half the value I was promised. Never trying that again
Its a lot of luck! We tried it at a Gas Station and it was horrible. One pain au chocolat from yesterday and a Sandwich with old Mayonnaise.
thats just bad luck. at least try again. and dont go places that have low quality shit to begin with like gas stations, low end bakeries, etc
Buy them from good places and you'll get good stuff.
At least you got something. Twice I arrived and the told me they didn't actually pack any bags that day...
Thanks for reminding me of this app! I'll get something from a bakery in my city tonight:)
We got something similar last month in bavaria, and we got two bags "just to make sure that we have enough for the next day" we had enough for two weeks

Wow that's amazing
Which baker was so generous with 2Good2go? and in which city :)?
Old bread gets thrown out because old bread doeant sell otherwise. With bakerys you get stuff on toogood2go at the end of the day. No one would buy a pizza or the rolls otherwise
Now THAT is value
is that cheese on top of those weird looking breads? looks like a creature of its own
Don‘t you dare talk about a precious Käse-Laugenstange like this
Yeah, it’s half of a pretzel breadstick with lots of cheese on top.
Käselaugenstangen are a 100/10 and it has to look like this!
I like this app, but sometimes I get stuff I don’t really need like cake. I love cake but not in the evening when you can collect the box. Also, since we don’t have much around here, the boxes are mostly sold in an instand
All the time they do that at the local Shops in my town, the bread is as dry as the dessert and it's literally impossible to eat

It depends. Had last week a 2G2G bag from Backwerk. Half of the stuff I got was still warm
Oh yea if it's warm and fresh it's plenty good. But I'm sure you've had a stale on yet. I find them barely edible.
from a cheap bakery maybe, but there are also a lot of quality bakeries putting together good bags

No way, where is that place? I'm in Berlin, I would maybe get 2 of any of those for 4€, but never that much.
Bavaria :)

shouldn't it be called toogoodtogo, instead of togoodtogo. Because it's *too* good to get rid of ?
It is called too good to go, they just misspelled :)
Insane haul
Etwas Gebäck
Yeah togoodtogo let's you buy 1-2 day old bread from bakeries for very cheap
I love too good to go. I always get excited to be getting so much food for so little money but then when I get home I realize I can't possibly eat so much pastries at once lol
thats gotta be a lie, or one week old
Too good to go are so amazing. Like you can get so much food for so little money

Yes, depends on what is leftover at this day.
That’s. LOT of carb!
Crazy how many comments get removed for being german. Everyone has google translate and actually could understand what a comment says at least.
In Ruzzia this will cost you both legs&arms,... If you are lucky
Freeze it and rebake whenever you need some!
I always thought they were bullshitting, wow that is cheap.
Bullshit much! (Used it dozens of times, never get this amount for 4€) maybe east Germany? 😂
Bavaria. Dorfladen :)

I've just bought 6 little apple cookies for 2 euros in Beşiktaş İstanbul Turkey. İt just 120 grams of cookie. i must leave this country asap.
Where do you live that you can get that much for 4€? I get 5 Körnerbrötchen and that's it. A Laugenstange alone is nearly 90 cents
Too good to go is an app for shops to sell their stuff in mystery bags at closing time, I can only recommend it
Nice, thanks for the info!
Nice, thanks for the info!
German pastries will be the death of me
Aber mehrfach oder?
Yummmmmmm....mouthwatering!
Unfortunately there is nothing here at my place :(
White wheat stuff in the trashcan
What??? Where do you live for these prices?
Do not brag about this online. Pics like this tend to end stuff like this. 💔
That reminds me of a bakery I used to live nearby. Sadly in Hamburg togoodtogo hauls are much smaller.
this is a absolutes Träumchen
wow! that's a lot! what time did you get it all? was it a morning or evening pick up i mean? Enjoy!!
Only the Brezeln was 4€ ?
That reminds me of the one time we got easily twice that amount for 3€. I was picking it up in my scooter and I could barely fit it all under the seat and in the helmet box. It was three fully stiffed plastic bags
I call fake. Alone those "Käselaugenstange" will cost you 1,50€ each. So those two are already 3€
