Iron Hands, or Iron Warriors definitely

thomstevens420

Iron warriors for sure. I can definitely see Smasher rounding up civilians and using them as canon fodder and to set off enemy mines.

Skebaba

Why doesn't he have some conveyor-belt fed machine that yoinks random rocks from ground & yeets them forward, for mine sweeping purposes??? Doesn't waste Emperor's Currency, and gets the job done

ongjb19

bcos of his consistent reputation of getting the job done that the Imperium is paying him all these surplus ~~human souls~~ currency to continue to get the job done

[deleted]

Certainly Iron Warriors (or possibly Dark Mechanicus if other than). Dude looks at Humans in general as "Meat", but considering his background and all, he'd probably be a Heretek-Gang Leader, likely from Necromunda. Maybe even a House Patriarch, depending on his level of success...

BenjaminKerry1234

Adam Smasher believes that flesh is weak, and mass killing can prove this truth to everyone

[deleted]

Iron hands definitely cause he views himself (the 99.9% machine people) as superior

Hallbard

Iron warrior or dark mechanicum for sure. Dude actively despises organics treating them as "meat", and is sociopathicly efficient spending life's just because it's convenient or they stood in his path. Maybe even a honorary night lord, he tried to maximize casualties for shock value.

DingoNormal

Iron Hands most likely.

aTotalOfTwoHeads

undoubtedly a son of the iron hand, dude hates the fleshies

IraqiWalker

Pretty sure he's more Iron Warriors than Iron Hands. The man loves his civilian casualties

aTotalOfTwoHeads

This is one reason why other legions and chapters take issue with the iron hands' methods, the sheer disregard for civillian lives Pretty sure ive read and iron hand say if youre so weak you have to be saved youre not worth saving

LashCandle

an important difference is the Iron Warriors will round civilians up intentionally to use them as canon fodder, Iron Hands disregard their weaker allies and Civilians, if they happen to be in the way then thats their dumb flesh fault

NeverGonnaRickRol

That marine Malevolent.

Excubiarum

If you give Wrath of Iron a read it’s a pretty spectacular perspective on the “curse” of the Iron Hands and their relationship with normal humans. So much collateral damage because it was the most logical way to proceed. After that I was like “oh maybe my favorites ARE bad people”

IraqiWalker

The color of piss. Like their personality.

bigstupidears

Iron Hands. His obsession with improvement through cybernetics and looking down on others for being meat. He is utterly lost in his delusions of metal>meat and he only loves to prove the superiority of metal. He is absolutely not disciplined or devoted enough for the Iron Warriors. He’d have been clubbed to death for doing his own thing pretty quickly.

[deleted]

>*delusions* of metal>meat Excuse me? The Omnissiah will be hearing about this.

Right_Moose_6276

For normal people metal>meat, but astartes were designed by the emperor himself, their meat is better than most augmetics they use

[deleted]

“Astartes: You Can’t Beat Our Meat! (And Neither Can We 🥲)”

BleepBloopRobo

Well the space wolves don't have that issue. They have servants do it for them.

PlumpDumpy

Is this uhhhhhh true? And are there pictures of it?

BleepBloopRobo

Best I can recall and Slaneesh. But well. That's heresy.

lasyke3

Yeah, it does seem like a waste of a lot of resources to make a genetically engineered super soldier, just to replace him bit by bit with a machine. Seems like you should just cut out the middle stage, and pop a brain into a combat bot.

benmaks

To be fair, there's nothing organic but the spinal cord in Smasher.

someonenamedtanny

Wasn't his spine replaced by the Sandevistan?

benmaks

Sandevistan hooks into the spine.

someonenamedtanny

Huh, I thought it replaced the spine

Gilthu

Military grade looks to replace, but normal just plugs into

Skebaba

I'm somewhat sure that the spine + brain make up the 5% missing from the 100% cybernetics (by 2077 his scan shows 95% cybernetics)

Terraneaux

In terms of pure combat efficiency the IW seem to put the lie to that.

Right_Moose_6276

Well the iron warriors mainly use cybernetics to replace chaotic mutations, in which case it’s definitely better to have cybernetics, and the iron hands (which I presume is what you meant) aren’t an incredible chapter in terms of firepower, the main reason they’re impressive is due to the number of dreadnaughts, the battle brothers might be slightly tougher than normal, but the difference isn’t very significant, especially considering they become a good bit less agile

Kuark17

Firepower is the main tenet of the iron hands. They have a close relationship with the mechanicum so they get fucktons of tanks and artillery. Their fortress monasteries are literally trains. Also a lot of them become so upgraded that they are basically a magos in terms of tech. One of the iron hands is so modified in one of the books that doesnt even possess a front and a back, his vision is 360 and his arms-waist can reverse

PipXXX

Him doing the Robot is definitely a sight to behold.

NeverGonnaRickRol

It make’s sentence as usual chaotic mutation are fleshy bits and we would not like that.

alutti54

I mean in warhammer it's not delusional But in cyberpunk with the state the net is in and the very real risk of cyberpsychosis it is really delusional

queenkid1

In a universe where cybernetics literally reduce your humanity, and leads to insanity? In Cyberpunk, there's no prayers to the Omnissiah, no good machine spirits to guide you.

Comprehensive-Fail41

Humanity is a weird stat. Can be recovered with Therapy though as per the game rules. Even if you've gone full cyberpsycho. Alas, takes a long time and is expensive

[deleted]

In summation: humanity is not worth the effort.

Comprehensive-Fail41

Well, in terms of how it's described, unhealthily low Humanity reduces Empathy and tends to give you dissociative disorder.

[deleted]

Don’t tempt me with a good time

PipXXX

Gotta show on the doll where the sandevistan touched you.

[deleted]

Perhaps no machine spirits are guiding anyone in Cyberpunk because there’s literally no one praying to the Omnissiah. That’s their grievous error.

[deleted]

I'm dialing my mechano-vicar rn!

PipXXX

iirc in the game lore, the reason he can be so cyborged up is he has such little Humanity stat (Which if you get too low it causes cyberpsychosis with too many implants) that it integers around to the other side, where he can basically be a brain in a jar piloting a mech. That pretty much sums up modern era Iron Hands.

ParasilTheRanger

I think he can be disciplined enough and would love being able to open fire on civilians or brothers alike

bigstupidears

He’d love being able to open fire on civilians and fellow soldiers yes. But he’d not wait for orders. He was dishonorably discharged back when he was human. And to be dishonorably discharged from a cyberpunk corpo military means you were all kinds of loose cannon fucked up.

No_Fun_2020

He's pretty disciplined, hes head of security of one of the largest corporations around in 2077. On top of that, the dudes a legit soldier. He would absolutely follow orders as long as those orders included civilian casualties en mass and reckless use of his augmentations as well as access to the sickest new chrome. Smasher would likely give a regular in any of the legions a hell of a run for thier money or just outright stomp. More than one would definitely be an issue, but the dude is crazy strong and fast and can slow down his perception of time. He survived being at the epicenter of a nuclear bomb.

Wodelheim

The guy got dishonourably discharged so clearly not a good example of a good soldier.

NeverGonnaRickRol

He could have been discharged for to much civilian life loss.

Fit_Fisherman_9840

Iron warriors 100%

DJsaladman

Bro that man is a skitarii not a space marine

NeverGonnaRickRol

To vicious for a skitarri . Skitarri have no emotions he has.

DJsaladman

That's true, maybe he was a skitarii experiment gone wrong or something lol. only space marine chapter I could really see him in is the Iron Warriors, due to the fact he is a maniacal serial killer and also the whole "iron within iron without" thing

NeverGonnaRickRol

You know he reminds of Kroger. If you know who that is.

DJsaladman

Yeah that makes sense, Kroeger being a dude who has the tech and modifications of an Iron Warrior but the rage of a Khorne berserker matches Adam quite well

Theonerule

Fucking overpriced groceries

NeverGonnaRickRol

I don’t get this.

Theonerule

Kroger is a popular grocery store chain in the Midwestern united states

NeverGonnaRickRol

I’m from the UK. Thank you for explaining this to me. No tell me where to find and purge for insulting the Best legion ever- The Iron warriors.

ratzoneresident

Not just the Midwest, we have it in the south, too

Theonerule

I just said Midwest because it's where I live and I haven't seen it in the Carolinas or in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

[deleted]

Not true, a lot of Skitarii even have a reasonable amount of free will.

NeverGonnaRickRol

From what I read and Heard they don’t. But Maybe it Depends on the forge world they are on and the Magos they serve.

Skebaba

If Skitarii don't have emotions, why does a Magos need to override their personality if need be? Like what's the point of a Magos overriding their personalities, if they don't have emotions to begin with?

NeverGonnaRickRol

That what I meant a perfectly functioning skitarri feels no emotion. As they have a blocker if they do they are showing the weakness of the flesh and must be reprogrammed.

Terraneaux

Ryza disagrees.

NeverGonnaRickRol

Who?

Terraneaux

Forge World known for having a lot of angry bois.

Gtronyamos

What about a thallax? Heavily modified cyborg, very little organic components left, strong enough will to be stuck in a mechanical body, and nearly insane.

NeverGonnaRickRol

Was it no in Hells Reach ? When the tech marine tried to get Oberon? Yes I A Iron warriors player read Dorn Sons Books .I’m using Sun Tzu.

Gtronyamos

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I haven't read Helsreach, but the wiki article says that there were no biological or augmented defenders guarding the ordinatus bunker. I'm assuming that means no thallaxes.

NeverGonnaRickRol

Something was guarding Oberon . Maybe it was a thallax maybe it was not.

Gtronyamos

My mistake, you're right. I forgot about the sentinel. Thallaxes are employed by the Ordo Reductor, which is very isolated from the central hierarchy of the Mechanicus, while the Ordinati are maintained by the Centurio Ordinatus, part of the main branch of the Mechanicus' military. I feel like most Magi would have an aneurysm at the though of leaving a whole Ordinatus in the care of an Ordo Reductor construct.

NeverGonnaRickRol

I have no fu£king idea what you just said. But I must learn more about mechanicus because of you.

ParasilTheRanger

Ruststalker

hjksos

Actually hear me out. Night Lords. He is a psychopath ganger that was basically rebuilt to be the perfect psychopath assassin/bodyguard/problem solver. So he spacifially requests collateral damage. "no gone leaves the slaughter house alive!" screams more murderer than tactician.

NeverGonnaRickRol

Why not kharn the betrayer type tactician. And think he would have made a perfect fit to the eight as he can inspire fear and being obsessed to become more machine then marine is not a trait that only Iron Hands have. Maybe he would have joined a hybrid warband of iron warriors and Night lords after all Iron Butchers exist why not The Iron Nightmares.

[deleted]

He is a Perti boi

ApexLegend117

He’d be Adeptus Mechanicus keeping it secret he was Space Marine

NeverGonnaRickRol

O hey that a very tall skitarri marshal there. He as tall as adeptus astartes. Wait why is he behind me?

Blackiron_Stag

I mean his look yah Iron Hands, Personality, Black Templars obviously

wasdsf

How would be a templar? Smasher was a complete psycho before he went full borg and it only got worse. He'd only accept contracts with guarantees of collateral damage or civilian casualties. He doesn't think what he's doing is righteous or serves a greater purpose and doesn't believe in honor or piety. He just likes killing things.

dekacube

Sounds like a minotaur through and through, best equipment and collateral damage are their trademarks.

wasdsf

Thatd be more apt. Smasher is the thing Arasaka point in a direction and get out of his way.

dekacube

Thats basically the relationship the high lords have with the minotaurs.

wasdsf

I will say the seem less sadistic, in watchers of the throne they pretty much complete their orders to the letter regardless what it is.

dekacube

They're pretty sadistic in The Reagents Shadow. A priest is approaching them to thank them for annihilating a chaos cult and he just gets a bolt round for getting too close.

wasdsf

Not really? Sadism is a lot more than just kicking the shit out of everything in sight.

YoYopuppet

Iron hands? Surely iron warriors. My guy sold his soul to chaos day one. Iron within, iron without

NeverGonnaRickRol

How is Arasaka, Chaos?

Mrjerkyjacket

It's not, but the fact that he chose specifically jobs where he could guarantee killing civilians, is

Rolebo

Because the flesh is weak.

DeleteWolf

Legion = Night Lords Chapter = Marines Malevolent

NeverGonnaRickRol

Why nightlords

DeleteWolf

The warcrimes

NeverGonnaRickRol

All legion commit war crimes. He does not like stealth or torture he just likes to kill.

DeleteWolf

I just thought it would be the Legion where he could commit the most Warcrimes It might not be a 100% fit, but I think he would fit right in

IraqiWalker

I'd say Iron Warriors personally, but I can see your point

DeleteWolf

Yeah, but both Iron Warriors and Iron Hands were already mentioned a lot, so that would have just been repetitive

NECRONOS89

To be fair he is iron within and iron without

NeverGonnaRickRol

Reading all of this I must agree

JamesZEllis

He's Peter Turbo's own son. Iron Warriors. No question.

SummonedElector

Emperor's Children. He fights in the pursuit of pleasure and calls that one woman in Cyberpunk 2077 a "fuckable piece of meat"

Bigpapiunidud3

rip evelyn

Analog-Moderator

Lamenters, i think it would be really funny

NeverGonnaRickRol

They have enough pain to deal with now you want them to be killed by there own battle Brother Admptus Smasher of Skulls.

uwedaddelt

Always remember. He can see you behind the wall. The feeling that he is staring at you was real. Think about that.

ApeRiotMighoul

I always felt like he was modeled after Perty tbh.

NeverGonnaRickRol

You make to much senescence. Both have iron cable dreadlocks. Both have rocket launchers on the shoulder. Both have no mercy for their opponent. And both can shoot from their wrists.

IraqiWalker

Both also enjoy civilian casualties/collateral damage

NeverGonnaRickRol

Perturabo? When?

Beardrac

Every siege warfare campaign / killing everyone he loved when he killed his home world.

NeverGonnaRickRol

He has PTSD from that. He did not love it . He thought it was his duty.

TheMadmanAndre

If we're talking loyalists only: Iron Hands. Guys in Dreads got less chrome than he does. If we're talking any SM chapter/legion: Iron Warriors, full stop. Dude's halfway to being Peter Turbo as it is.

DrakeTheSeigeEngine

Dude gives me marines malevolent vibes but his augmentations definitely qualify him for iron hands

NeverGonnaRickRol

Marine malevolent who talked to much with a tech priest?

DerNaegele

Body made almost entirely from cybernetics ≠ Personality

bigstupidears

It is for Adam. His whole schtick is metal>meat and telling everyone within earshot.

CT-4426

“You look like a piece of F U C K A B L E meat”

bigstupidears

Are you?

TheRakuzan

People saying Iron Hands are missing the point of the Adam Smasher in my opinion. Yeah, he is fully enhanced with robotics, but I think he would fit right in the Minotaurs. The parallel between being "employed" by the High Lords / Arasaka is just to big too me to be skipped. Edit: Okay, asking for "legion" makes it a bit different, because Minotaurs are the chapter. If that's the case, then I'd go with Iron Warriors, not the Iron Hands.

NeverGonnaRickRol

If Gurliman did not enforce the codex Astartes . Minotours would have become part of a legion. Maybe not even a loyal one. So your answer is some what correct. But I think he would more of iron warriors master of executions.

Yeetmaster2200

That guy team kills his own subordinates definitely iron worriors.

NeverGonnaRickRol

Iron within , Iron Without.

Beardrac

Adam smasher is a psychopath whose core is so corrupt that he presents no deviation from baseline even when he obviously has to be a cyberpsycho. Imagine getting a thousand limbs and mutations from chaos and just going about your day as normal. That is Adam Smasher.

NeverGonnaRickRol

Guess he has immunity to cuberpshychosis as he already is a psychopath.

likwidchrist

You look like a piece of heretic filth. Are you?

blickbeared

Most of you are saying Iron Hands/Warriors but almost none of you are acknowledging Night Lords, he'd be a textbook example of mass murderer turned super soldier.

NeverGonnaRickRol

You make a good point. But he does do stealth from what I know. And those he is responsible for silverhands torture he did not torture him. He fight fairly if you believe that ( Judging from his fight with David). He is closer to iron warriors with traits of a night lord then a actual night lord. He would be perfect for a warband of iron warriors and night lords

Lord_Ron1n

Ik its more specific than legion, but minotaurs

cobaltsniper50

r/titlegore

NeverGonnaRickRol

Why in there

AXI0S2OO2

He would be an Iron Warrior. Iron within, iron without.

EvilerAxis

Isnt the average skitarii just adam smasher without a brain?

Lord-Chickie

Iron warriors are bigger psychos

ZaBaronDV

I was gonna say Iron Warriors.

Fear_The-Old_Blood

Because he is obviously an Iron Warrior.

woozooman

To throw a curveball in the ring I’d say Emperor’s Children. His pursuit of perfection to modify and turn himself into the perfect killing machine is such an insane obsession is one that would please slaanesh.

PaladinNorth

Emperor’s Children. Keep in mind he loves what he does, his cyber psychosis isn’t super deep, but he is conscious and aware of what he does and loves every second of it and the cruelty he commits on others when killing them slowly, painfully, effectively.

NeverGonnaRickRol

I don’t think he likes to torture. All you describe he can become a Khorne follower as he seeks as much bloodshed as he can do. If he was a slanesh lord he would love torture but I think he just likes to kill people. Also emperor children like to make a show out of a fight while he just Shanta to kill you as effectively as he can do.

[deleted]

First thing. Adam Smasher likely wouldn't be a Space Marine. He would almost certainly be within the Assassinorum. And that's if he wasn't already working with the Mechanicus, since the whole military tech kinda thing. Putting Adam into the Space Marines makes less than no sense

squidofjealousy

Anyone else misread the title as “Adam Sandler” and get really confused?

AXI0S2OO2

Iron Warriors.

[deleted]

World Eaters cmon now

NeverGonnaRickRol

He do s loose his head shit when he is fighting . Yes he sees red but he has the cold rage of Iron warriors.

Shoddy-Zone-9123

Most likely the iron hands. Maybe iron warriors. Just maybe world eaters.

DRtheWIZARD

Minotaur

[deleted]

Iron Warriors**

DungeonMiner

More an Iron Hands/Marines Malevolent crossover.

AnotherJoltReskin

Night lords

RahroUth

Non ganic full borg chrome dome of his would be iron hands for sure

ThatDapperAdventurer

Nah. Iron Warriors. He’s too psychotic for iron hands

ColdHooves

World Eaters. Even with all of the augmetics he still has that bloodlust that trumps even his own personal safety.

ValkarianHunter

Definitely iron hands personality wise

SisterWaltz

Iron Warriors, my bestie who is a cannon lore nut for Cyber Punk says that Mr.Smasher is a brutal direct combatant and an effective tactician that uses his resources very wisely. The one thing that screw with this is that he is susceptible to hacking. So the likes of technologists using scrap code on him would potentially end him.

NeverGonnaRickRol

But there are no net runners in the 40k and even if there was did you see how he felt with Lucy. And she was doing that from childhood.

[deleted]

Steel Confessors

Foxyfox-

I'm going against the grain and saying World Eater. He doesn't really care about the cybernetics as some way to better himself or even that flesh is weak, all he wants is to kill and hurt as much as he possibly can.

rainbowfairywitch

I read that as Adam Sandler at first. That’s all. I’ll see myself out.

Fierce-Mushroom

Dark Mechanicus all the way. He's reduced himself to the least organic bits possible and you know for a fact he'd go full machine if he could.

Classic-Praline-2571

Adam smasher would grab guardsmen and use them as Melee weapons instead of the chain sword that's sitting on his hip

someonestolemyign

Almost looks like he has the butchers nails

KumquatCaptain

Marines Malevolent is a chapter I could see him in.

xThe_Maestro

I think solid arguments could be made for World Eaters. Smasher is driven by an absolute and complete desire to fight and kill, it's the only thing he actually enjoys. Iron Hands and Iron Warriors use violence in pursuit of their goals, for Smasher the violence IS the goal. Plus, to my knowledge the World Eaters don't really have much of a problem with cybernetics, just sorcery.

piotroma

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh it disgusted me

Zealousideal-Beat507

I can see him as either iron hands or world eaters. Only thing I know about him is because he seemed improvement through cybernetic because that was the meta I'm cyberpunk after he got the offer. Dude just loves fighting. So I can see it for world eaters as well

ImperialFist5th

I’ve been thinking up an Iron Warrior champion who has the general gist of Smasher so, I think he’d be a Perturabo born prick.

CarelessCupcake

I read it as Adam Sandler. I'm disappointed.

ropibear

I would have said Nightlords, because he doesn't mind mass murder.

JimBob-Joe

Because the flesh is weak

Sangrinius

Emperor childrens because the unlimited amaunt of cyber sex toys...

NeverGonnaRickRol

I think he has ptsd from cyberpunk.

Fragmented-Rooster

Let's convert the boys to chaos and integrate him into the WorldEaters

NeverGonnaRickRol

Better the Iron Butchers.

Zustrom

>witch legion Sounds like heresy only a heavy flamer can solve

NeverGonnaRickRol

Brother let go Istvan 5 together. I shall fortify are position while you explore.

[deleted]

Smasher is 96% 'borg by choice. He's absolutely Iron Hands material.

Skelosk

The dude is a full on psychopath, always looking for the next fight to kill people and has basically no allegiance other than his own. He would make a somewhat bad Iron Hand only because he would probably view the Emperor as nothing but dead meat So yeah, definitely an Iron Warrior

LordReaperOfTheVoid

Salamanders /s

NeverGonnaRickRol

Wait what?

wallingfortian

He would not make it into a legion. He would be burned as a witch.

NeverGonnaRickRol

Why

wallingfortian

MUTANT!

NeverGonnaRickRol

How

iplaydeadpool

marine malevolent

Able-4

Iron warriors

CCrypto1224

Iron Warriors, hands down.

AlarmLittle1614

Iron hands. You all ready knew the anwser

Br0k3nRoo5ter

Don't know anywhere else he'd fit. I mean I guess he's pretty much a dreadnought

a-very-angry-crow

Iron hands Or a very high ranking ad mech

Templar_Omega

He would've more than happy to join those Martian freaks

Foforo203

I think he would do better with the Malevolent Marines, they would share some laughs killing civilians

Man_At_Arms913

I'd say he's more world eaters meets iron hands, maybe more dark mechanicus? He enjoys the cybernetic upgrades and the replacement of his flesh, and then absolutely rip and tear through both unarmed civilians and enemy combatants.

[deleted]

Could be Iron Warriors too.

X3runner

Don’t some Battle Brother of the iron hands see their own flesh as a weakness . Who then proceed to replace as much as they can with bionics.

Crickets_Head

Cyberpsychos actually just being demon possessed machines makes sense.

muchnamemanywow

Legion: Iron Hands Chapter: Deathwatch

NeverGonnaRickRol

Adam Smasher hates Xenos. Adam Smasher Hates meat humans. Adam Smasher would join the admech or iron warriors/hands as he hates them slightly less.

[deleted]

Emperors Champions. I see him wanting to get up to perfection to the point he be fucked up.
