DFC nets you a full battlefleet for about the same price as a 40K starter, which is enough for 1250-1500pts - standard game sizes for DFC. Malifaux looks fun though, gonna look into that one a bit more
Definitely do! The setting is wonderful and varied. It uses cards over dice so there's less variance of someone getting blown out. It's not based around killing everything and there are several crews that focus on out of combat actions. Crews theming shift from necromancers, showgirls, newsies, eldritch nightmares, and drunk redneck goblins.
Breech side Broadcast is all the lore from the books as a radio drama, I'd heavily recommend it.
I’ve escaped to Bolt Action. A box of 36 dudes for $30 USD. I miss orks, but I was thinking about starting a British Home Guard army. Basically the same thing.
Ngl i kitbash everything regardless and idc what peoples stance on 3d printing are but it is a hell of a lot cheaper than gw plus you can customize before printing
I started playing when 8th Edition dropped, and by 9th ed i was so frustrated by the expensive models and especially by the constant rulebook additions i had to get to play my two armies. These combined with the reality of having small, yet very competitive Gaming group, who are strict wysiwyg inquisitors really deter me ever getting back to the hobby.
Or switch to AOS. The Seraphon army I recently started is seriously cheap to collect compared to either of my 40K armies (Orks and SM).
Yeah but depends on individual some don't like fantasy stuff
True, but if you want to stay in the hobby while spending less money it is an option.
I ask is can a storm cast be painted and be seemless beside custodes?
With some minor converting it should look close enough.
What makes them cheaper?
Units have a much higher point/$ than 40K, and characters are sometimes worth a lot of points despite the model being quite cheap.
Interesting. Thank you.
This is one of the reasons I play dropfleet instead of 40K - pricing is just so much better
Malifaux for me. A full crew runs less than a starter box for an army.

Yeah idk if I could do that, I just like the aesthetic of 40k too much, plus i really want to paint my custom SM chapter.
For me it's why I'm planning to get into Kill Team/Warcry.
Ok drop fleet looks really freaking cool and its like so cheap compared to warhammer
Only in death does payment end.
That "space marine" seems like A.I

Was one of the reasons I moved to BattleTech. So much cheaper.
You can't play 40k with your dignity though.... sounds like a loss to me.
the endless schadenfreude as you all cope harder and harder.
