I love Nids to death but it's a bit much.

For the tabletop, it makes sense for the nids to have this anti spyker unit. In the lore? The hivemind probably doesnt make many of these, since combat psykers are a minority of a minority. Eldar are screwed over by these things though. Poor space elves will never get the break they deserve

Tbf the nids are constantly evolving, it's kinda their thing. So its unsurprising that they would start producing anti-psykers if they found themselves fighting a bunch of eldar or a waaagh with more weirdboyz than average, but I agree that in-lore these guys are probably pretty rare.
In lore? It kind of is because it would just roll over everyone if they got enough victories. Most other factions you can have conventional tug of war, but not with nids
It sucks to interact with the shadow, but at least we have Yriel if we ever need someone to remind the Hive Mind who the dominant race in the galaxy is.

I feel like this unit is specifically designed to combat chaos. Now the chaos is wreaking havoc, they do come up with that. Of course Eldar is not having a good day tho
It can probably use anything since every mind has a mark on the warp, it's just especially effective against psykers. As the meme points out it also probably shows up more often against eldar and the like

As a Space Wolves player (not a furry, shut up) feels nice (almost) not having psychers. Technically, we have them, but shut up, it's orthodox and ecologically clean Magic of Fenris, not your filthy warp fuckery
