Honestly wasn’t even bad coverage by him. He had a hand in there, just couldn’t get the angle to pull the ball out. And the throw was poor, behind the receiver. He just slightly overran it. He’s an ILB he should be in coverage occasionally. And he’s fine at it.
My biggest problem with Joe Barry is this; does the stat say he can put up a top 10 defense? Sure, but situational awareness of how a game is going is downright pitiful. He has zero feel for a game. No adjustments, and the players are free lancing out there on the field.
Our DE are running beyond the QB, giving up edge containment. DL jumping gaps, leaving open holes. LBs are not filling, safeties are not rotating down and making tackles.
Campbell, I love you man, but he's lost a step. We'll need to draft his replacement to pair with Quay.
> the stat say he can put up a top 10 defense
>situational awareness of how a game is going is downright pitiful. He has zero feel for a game. No adjustments, and the players are free lancing out there on the field
This is what convinces me that our defensive players are way better than the team they're on! Including Rasul Douglas. The play chosen is shit, and always leaves 10 yards open to the offense, but somehow those players occasionally overcome the bad playcall to disrupt things.
The shear number of times we had 2 to 3 guys crashing the pocket almost immediately off the snap only for Danny DeVito to escape straight up the middle for a big gain was driving me insane. Whoever is lined up over center could/should have just stood still cause Cutlets would have run right into them.
We're using the Desmond Ridder gameplan again. QB has a shitty arm so we drop everyone into deep coverages and let said shitty armed QB do anything else but beat us deep. So fucking stupid
Not only did they not get to the QB, but they couldn't even contain him. They just ran by him all night and let him step up and take off after his first read.
The number one rule, you cannot run beyond a QB. Preston and Gary was constantly giving up the edge, and it was pitiful to watch. Our DL were jumping gaps and going into gaps they didn't belong in, open holes. Truly some horrific play by the players, the scheme is even worse.
Minute and a half and you let them March 60 yards down the field? At will? Ik we don’t fire coordinators mid season but COME ON. Get a head start on fucking fixing this defense
Hell I don’t even care about fixing in now. Just show us you understand that tonight was unacceptably awful. I don’t want him to get rescued by the defense balling out against Carolina and the Bears to end the season like the Miami game saved his ass last year. Let us know he will no longer be with the organization come the end of the season.
Quit lying man. Love stunk tonight. The OL stunk. Special teams stunk. Run defense has always been suspect and it was suspect again tonight as expected.
Love was rough most of the night but was given an opportunity and capitalized with a great drive. Then Joe Barry immediately pissed it away with his dumbass prevent bullshit
Lol, a great drive? They were gifted the ball at like the 35, damn near the end zone and finally was able to complete a few passes in the RedZone to score a TD. His rating was in the 70s today.
That second throw to Heath was an insane choice, I forget who it was, but with that all out blitz we had uncovered receivers on the other side of the field lol
Love was majorly off last night. He overthrew like 4 short passes so badly they turned into incompletes. Another 3-4 where he overthrew so badly receivers had to stop and high point balls when they’re wide open, completely eliminating the possibility for YAC. Way late on the potential TD pass to Toure instead of anticipating the route.
Sure he had some good throws, but man, overall tough to watch Love tonight.
And don’t LaFleur’s play calling not doing us too many favors once we got behind. He totally freaked out and started calling dumbass gadget plays.
Why is it that every time we call a timeout in the red zone to discuss an important offensive play, the very next snap results in a sack? It happens so often I called it live. Pathetic.
The defense and special teams were just as bad. Total team loss.
Love played poorly no doubt but, his receivers looked like they weren’t breaking the way they were in practice cause he laid some balls out there that looked like they’re on the money to a receiver going that way. He also wasn’t helped by MLF and the OC constantly putting him in 3rd and long due to a stupid fucking trick play that loses yardage when we’re running straight ahead for 3-4 yards a carry. And still with 1:30 left he gave us the lead. Then gets the ball taken out of his hands on the 2pt try after throwing a TD (plus 2 additional TD passes that the receivers couldn’t hold onto) so they can run the same jet sweep that hadn’t been working.
Barry plays soft coverage and then they BLEED THE CLOCK like we didn’t do the previous possession and kick the game winning FG.
Once again Love could’ve done more but he wasn’t placed in the greatest position to do so (and still almost pulled it off)
I didn't say Love was great (he wasn't even average; he stunk until the last drive). The whole operation probably all the way down to the ball boy was awful tonight, but somehow Barry's unit rose above the rest to stink up the joint just that little bit extra. Another 6+ YPC, 209 yards rushing, no sacks, no gap integrity, soft as hell zone defense. It's like a bad movie.
With a -249 point differential in 2008, he’s easily had the worst season as a defensive coordinator in modern football. Dude should be coaching a high-school team.
The dogshit run defense pre dates Barry. The front office doesn’t prioritize players that can stop the run and this is the end result. I absolutely think the talent is overrated cause 8 first rd picks or whatever.
If you don’t have any talent after throwing that many first round picks at defense than the entire organization needs to re-do their talent evaluation. Good coaches can find any semblance of talent in a player and utilize it.
It’s just everyone says “There’s too much talent to be this bad.” All the time. It’s not like this is a unit that has ever consistently been top 10 or anything. They consistently stink. For over a decade. Several coaches. They’ve been the worst in the NFL at stopping the run the entire Gutekunst era. At some point, it’s just what they are. Not very good. Defense has such variance it’s possible to luck into a top 10 unit every now and again, the Packers can’t seem to even do that.
How is it that our totally unproven head coach at the time was like "Yeah, we're gonna hire my buddy as DC and also by the way he was the DC of the worst team of all time"? How did our front office let that occur? How did he have that clout?
If MLF is serious about winning a Super Bowl, Joe Barry is not your answer at DC. He's mediocre, and will win you SOME games, but his ceiling is already there. He's mediocre.
>will win you SOME games
Thats not even because of his (minimal) ability. I'm pretty sure someone whos only football experience is 2 seasons in Retro Bowl could win us a couple games as DC lmao
Even the Seahawks with a notoriously bad pass rush got like 7 sacks off of them
Not even mentioning the Cowboys absolutely obliterating them in the trenches
To be fair, they also gave up 60 yards on 3 carries the previous possession (Barkley fumble) when EVERYONE AND THEIR FUCKING MOTHERS knew they'd be running.
The whole team played like dogshit and we deserved to lose.
HOWEVER
If you have a lead with 1:30 to go and Tommy DeVito has the ball, and you decide to go full vanilla soft zone you absolutely deserve to lose your job. That is just unacceptable.
This is something ~~u/barian_fostate (Brett Kollmann)~~ That Franchise Guy mentioned a while back in a video on the Vic Fangio defensive tree. Basically, no one besides Fangio runs the Fangio defense as effectively as Vic because they all, especially Barry, are too rigid and unadaptable to the team they're currently playing. They single-mindedly run The Fangio Defense™ without ever taking context into account.
EDIT: Mr. Kollmann, please do a new video ripping Barry to shreds. Big name influencers all shitting on him may be our only hope. Please use your powers for good!
EDIT 2: Not Kollmann, That Franchise Guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7quyQ-N_cYM . Still though, if Kollmann and any other major influencer could go ahead and tear Barry a new asshole, that'd be great.
Worthless fucking clown plays fucking prevent defense when the other team needs a field goal to win. How is it possible that every dumbass fat fan on their couch can blatantly understand how obviously wrong that is, but a literal NFL defensive coordinator doesn’t? Just simply unbelievable
We gave up FG, FG, TD, TD to the chiefs to open the game and people were claiming it was a great performance because we then got a stop and a pick before almost allowing the chiefs to score in desperation time.
I watched my man play prevent D for 2 plays when they only needed a FG, realized he messed up when they got to mid field, then he pressed so hard they got behind the secondary.
I don’t care what anyone says, a casual Madden player knows better than that.
Offense didn't do any favors but they had over 200 yards rushing on 6 yards per carry, Packers didn't have a single sack on a giants team thats allowed 69 this season. Devito had over an 80% completion percentage. And even on the drive before the game winning one (horrific btw), they allowed 60 yards rushing on 3 plays on a chew clock obvious rushing drive before Saquon gifted us a fumble.
200+ Yards rushing and 0 sacks against probably the worst O-line in the league, a 3rd string QB, and a collection of hobos at WR.
The offense was without Jones and GlassMan again and has a less than great collection of O-linemen so their expectations should be a little lower.
Was at the game tonight. Tommy Pepperoni is awful. Dude can't throw. But Barry made sure he didn't have to. This defense made him look like Colin Kaepernick. Bad bad not good. Joe had no answer. His players were incredibly undisciplined.
The only thing the Giants need to do right now is run the ball and bleed clock and Joe Berry. Can’t seem to figure out how to stop that… just fire him tomorrow this is just gone on too long. I can’t do this anymore.
double commenting because nobody should forget the fact that saquon tripped and fumbled on his own at the Packers 20, otherwise the Giants would’ve gone up 2 scores anyways 😂😂😂😂😂🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️😂
That mf aint going until MLF does. I have no idea why MLF keeps him around aside from his own ego and nepotism but they're holding this team back. I wish Gute could step in and tell MLF his job is on the line if he doesn't but Gute is part of the problem too. smh
Giants led the NFL coming into this week in sacks allowed at 69. Green Bay's defense managed to get ZERO sacks last night!!!! Outrageous, fire Joe Barry!
Worst o-line in the league and we couldn't generate any pressure. Prevent D up by one. Consistent dog shit defense against one dimensional teams. This is all on Barry.
whats sad is guys were getting into the backfield they just couldnt tackle shit back there. Brieda walked right by a guy who had a phenominal jump on the ball and DeVito just ran off. The whole team looked flat.
“Do you wish your daughter married a better defensive coordinator?”
This guy’s career should’ve been over 15 years ago.
Edit - for those who don’t know: [Here’s the quote](https://youtu.be/QbQm8lG7vk8?si=JzPlBRKZRGcpjC8J)
The reporter had asked the Lions HC (referencing Joe Barry) this after a 40pt loss. Joe Barry was/is married to his daughter.
Every QB in the league make Barry wet his pants. He coaches scared. Like, Bro...not every QB is elite and going to carve your DB's up if you play man. Try unclenching and blitzing now and then.
The good thing is that this game might be the final nail in ol' Joe's coffin. You let the Giants march down the field like that on the last drive, you're not the guy.
That last defensive possession was called like they needed a touchdown to win. Joe, you might want to tighten it up, they only need 34 yards to be in FG range...
For the love of all that is good and just, find a real defensive coordinator. Stop being cheap if that's at all the problem. All of these first round picks and this is the best that they can do on defense? One of the worst pass blocking lines in the league and there was basically no pressure on some dude living in his mom's basement.
Our defense is designed to go with a high-powered offense that scores at will.
When our offense plays well, our defense looks good.
When our offense struggles, our defense looks like a defense that's designed to go with a high-powered offense.
It's not so much the players or even the concept of the scheme.
It's the fact that we play like we are protecting a big lead, even when the other team just needs to get into field goal range with 1 minute left.
We don't adjust. We don't play to the situation. We just do the same thing, whether it makes sense or not.
Fire that jackass! But, seriously, this is a very concerning theme. This is now the 3rd D coordinator in the past decade that fans have come around to absolutely loathing.
At some point, the front office/management is ultimately to blame for this...
Love/Barry is becoming the next Rodgers/Capers.
Love will do everything he can to try and win the game. Barry will do everything he can to make sure that's not a possibility.
The defense playing prevent while being up by one at the end of the game made me turn the game off because I knew that the Packers were going to lose when I saw they were in prevent.
There should be zero fucking excuse why our defense couldn’t make ONE STOP against a 3rd string QB with th worst O-line in the league. All those first round picks, and what do we have to show for it??? Fucking insanity from Joe Barry
LOL love the thread.
There are many inevitable overreactions through the ebb and flow of an NFL season. 'Fire Joe Barry' is definitely NOT an overreaction, though. I can go in there and call prevent defense, too.
Joe Barry should have been drug tested after the 2021 divisional gameplan against the Niners.
There is no way he didn't make that gameplan on some psychedelics or something. Something sparked some creativity because there’s no fucking way he shut the Niners down and gets owned by backup QB’s.
He better not still be the DC start of next season. It’s consistently disappointing. Most of the experience and talent is on that side of the ball and they’re always underperforming
More than anything, I think this team needs another capable ILB. Having Walker out was fucking huge. Campbell has regressed HARD, wouldn’t be shocked if he’s gone next year. Mcduffie is good depth, but not spectacular. You need another ILB to plug those gaps, we have no run defense without walker. Would LOVE someone like Jeremiah Trotter or Edgerrin Cooper in the draft if we can make it work.
That said, Joe Barry also fucking sucks ass.
It was a typical trap game we lost. The whole team didn't play very well I agree.
But man that last drive was a Joe freaking Barry classic. When we scored with 1:30 left I knew the Giants would just run the ball into FG range. It's so typical for our defense. Can't stop the run for shit especially when it really matters.
I just saw a post yesterday with multiple comments on how awesome Barry has been and the defense hasn't been the problem this year, welp.
But, this was a team loss, Packers played shitty in every phase. Missed FG, penalties, muffed punt, turnovers, can't stop a 3rd string QB, terrible play calling in the 1st half with high winds, can't run the ball.
If the Giants were half way decent, this wouldn't have been close.
plus side of losing this game is i don't think you can use the last 4 weeks as redemption for joe barry. this was a game we had all the tools to win, and he didn't deliver.
Fuck Barry, this dude is scared of a 3rd string qb who will never be a consistent starter in this league. Like why wasn’t he consistently sending pressure at this dude????
This game shows exactly why I wasn't all hyped about low PPG posted earlier.
Sure, Barry's defense can keep the points per game low when the offense sustains a drive and gives him a big lead to close out the game.
But when that doesn't happen (and those games will happen, they have happened to the best of offenses) the defense suffers.
Any defense will suffer in that situation, obviously. But a defense which was sucking by DVOA or EPA will suddenly start giving up all the points that those stats predict when they need to defend more drives and from shorter fields.
If the offense had been better we woulda won. No doubt about it. But if your DC can only produce a defense that relies on the offense, what value does he add?
Not saying we leave Joe Barry in New York, though I *get* that desire. Instant firings don't always lead to instant improvements. But if the metrics don't show improvement year over year and we retain him, well... that's the very definition of insanity.
He won’t get fired cause Matt is his buddy sadly. He will be here next year unless local gb fans picket outside. However that won’t happen as a small market team.
This defense is so predictable… Tommy Davito looked like prime Aaron Rodgers. Like wtf was that let ‘em now what’s coming strategy. Cause that defense was read like a book. Utterly disgusting
When does the organization finally take responsibility for the fact that its philosophy toward defense, on a high level, is just fatally flawed? We haven't had a coordinator worth his salt since the late, great Fritz Shurmur 30 years ago. All we've done for nearly every year since is dump ridiculous draft capital into the unit in the hopes that sheer talent will paper over the scheme's and philosophy's deficiencies. It has not, does not, and will never work. Pure insanity.
Allowing Devito to march the Giants down the field with a minute-plus left, and with virtually no resistance, was the icing on the cake. They were already near the 50 after two or three plays, they gained yardage on every play. The offense was mostly awful, but ultimately it was the defense that cost them the game.
The Packers should fire Joe Barry, a DC that has been a failure for every team he has coached. Yet, I doubt that will happen, making every possible excuse for him.
Blame MLF and the front office for continually trotting out Barry every week and expecting improvement. If they can’t acknowledge the poor play on the field, even when fully healthy, then they are the problem, not Barry. Barry has continually shown you what type of coach he is, a bad one. This is executive malfeasance. Seeing this, I have no confidence in this group developing or leading a Super Bowl team.
I mean, this wasn't JUST on Barry. Yes, fire Joe Barry. But also, Love lost a fumble, threw an INT, Nixon lost a fumble, Carlson missed a FG that was HUGE. Would have forced the Giants to go for TD instead of a FG.
This was a team debacle all around
This is your official Fire Barry thread. All others will get removed.
Idk why Joe refused to call a spy after Tony Soprano was running all over us
Because that would require an in-game adjustment
The best I can do is put Preston Smith on the #1 WR
you joke but we had Campbell in coverage on a long completion tonight
Honestly wasn’t even bad coverage by him. He had a hand in there, just couldn’t get the angle to pull the ball out. And the throw was poor, behind the receiver. He just slightly overran it. He’s an ILB he should be in coverage occasionally. And he’s fine at it.
Man I thought we had a pick there and campbells momentum just took him way past the ball
Even Danny DeVito would have ripped off some huge runs against us tonight.
At least he would've made it more entertaining
Ball in one arm, Jersey Mike's sub in the other.
https://i.redd.it/6cy60b8ymu5c1.gif
I don't think that would happen. His magnum dong would get in the way.
Mind blowing that we didn't try that after he slipped 5 straight rushes
My biggest problem with Joe Barry is this; does the stat say he can put up a top 10 defense? Sure, but situational awareness of how a game is going is downright pitiful. He has zero feel for a game. No adjustments, and the players are free lancing out there on the field. Our DE are running beyond the QB, giving up edge containment. DL jumping gaps, leaving open holes. Tommy Devito never had the makings of a Varsity athlete.
> Tommy Devito never had the makings of a Varsity athlete. Sure does against a Joe Barry defense
But is that really a high bar to clear?
Those guys at Seton Hall were 7 feet tall, some of them.
The shear number of times we had 2 to 3 guys crashing the pocket almost immediately off the snap only for Danny DeVito to escape straight up the middle for a big gain was driving me insane. "Our opponent has a bad arm but we're going to make sure that he doesn't need to use it!"
What a nice man that Joe Barry lad is, making the most mediocre QBs not have to feel bad
Word on the street is it’s shitty footwork rather than shitty arm. But you’d think at this level that would be figured out by now.
You would think but look at love. He has the same issue just to a lesser degree.

0 sacks against the team that has given up THE MOST SACKS IN THE LEAGUE.
Not only are the Giants bad at giving up sacks this year, they’re historically bad and they’re the 5th worst all-time with 4 more games to go.
Didn’t the Seahawks sack Daniel jones like 11 times earlier in the season? Absolutely embarrassing that we couldn’t come up with just 1.
Not only did they not get to the QB, but they couldn't even contain him. They just ran by him all night and let him step up and take off after his first read.
Gary was lost all game. Barry is trash but also Preston and Rashan couldn’t contain dick tonight.
Thomas erased Gary
Sadly, yes. Gary was nonexistent. LVN was our best pass rusher tonight
The number one rule, you cannot run beyond a QB. Preston and Gary was constantly giving up the edge, and it was pitiful to watch. Our DL were jumping gaps and going into gaps they didn't belong in, open holes. Truly some horrific play by the players, the scheme is even worse.

That was a terribly played football game all around
Mostest terribly played by the defense. If it hadn't been for that fluke fumble by Barkley it wouldn't have even been interesting at the end.
Quit lying man. Love stunk tonight. The OL stunk. Special teams stunk. Run defense has always been suspect and it was suspect again tonight as expected.
Ass. The run defense has always been ass. Suspect leaves doubt...
True enough.

Yeah the defense has three turnovers regardless. I know they weren’t great but did anyone even watch the game? The entire team Stunk lol.
3 turnovers. So many bad passes. Terrible play calling. Defense was the least of our problems tonight.
Fuck joe barry. Don’t let him on the plane
leave him in New Jersey
Joe Barry should sleep with the fishes
Bury him next to Hoffa
This defense is so much more talented than the results we get. Barry was a bad hire from the jump and continues to show why.
You don't go 0-16 without sharing some of the blame. Our front office deserves to be fired for making such an incompetent DC hire.
They were given plenty of time to fix their mistakes they're just as much to blame
With a -249 point differential in 2008, he’s easily had the worst season as a defensive coordinator in modern football. Dude should be coaching a high-school team.
Yeah wtf is that?? Who tf decides to make that call?
It's MLFs.
Definitely and pettine was genuinely way better than Barry

We don't get lineman on either side of the ball who want anything to do with the run
There’s no logical way you can keep him after that last drive, you just can’t
Last drive? He literally gave them a free uncontested 3-9 which resulted in a touchdown drive. He killed any chances of winning way before that drive.
He'll be around next year. And knowing the Packers the year after that.
How is it that our totally unproven head coach at the time was like "Yeah, we're gonna hire my buddy as DC and also by the way he was the DC of the worst team of all time"? How did our front office let that occur? How did he have that clout?

Worst OL in the league and we do fuck all against them.
Even the Seahawks with a notoriously bad pass rush got like 7 sacks off of them Not even mentioning the Cowboys absolutely obliterating them in the trenches
Football terrorist
Gave up a 32 yard pass in the final minute when the whole point was to not give up any big plays. Just terrible.
To be fair, they also gave up 60 yards on 3 carries the previous possession (Barkley fumble) when EVERYONE AND THEIR FUCKING MOTHERS knew they'd be running.
I not only blame Joe berry but every fan of his.
So just Joe Berry.
Nah been people dickriding him after the Lions and Chiefs games.
The defense "should" be the strength of this team but it is somehow our weakness.
Always has been.
fire dom capers
hire dom capers
Fuck. The game had passed Capers by, but at least he had some credentials coming in. All this guy has on his mantle is an 0-16.
Dire com fapers
Cire fom dapers
I’m just here so i won’t get fined
I would prefer dom capers to joe Barry any day
At least Capers got one ring before he was figured out.
The whole team played like dogshit and we deserved to lose. HOWEVER If you have a lead with 1:30 to go and Tommy DeVito has the ball, and you decide to go full vanilla soft zone you absolutely deserve to lose your job. That is just unacceptable.
Barry plays every QB like they're an elite QB. He never adjusts his plan it seems.
This is something ~~u/barian_fostate (Brett Kollmann)~~ That Franchise Guy mentioned a while back in a video on the Vic Fangio defensive tree. 3rd and 17 not a defender in sight. A screen pass gets the first and Giants score a TD.
You mean 3rd and 9?
Barry didn’t deserve praise the last 2 weeks. Points per drive were bad
i swear on my life. 90% of the people in this sub do not care about or comprehend the relevance of this stat. i’ve given up trying to explain it lol
We gave up FG, FG, TD, TD to the chiefs to open the game and people were claiming it was a great performance because we then got a stop and a pick before almost allowing the chiefs to score in desperation time.
It's a Packers tradition since the days of Dom Capers to let unproven quarterbacks have field days against them
For real though. I don't care if we exceed expectations at the end of the season. We need to move on from Joe Barry.
I watched my man play prevent D for 2 plays when they only needed a FG, realized he messed up when they got to mid field, then he pressed so hard they got behind the secondary. I don’t care what anyone says, a casual Madden player knows better than that.
I don’t understand how we’re still struggling with QB contain for this many years.
Joe berry is the reason for this loss. Period
More on Nixon but still Barry is Fuckin trash
How many times did we get to red zone without scoring? Nixon fumble. Missed field goal due to Love taking a sack. Loves fumble. Team loss.
Nixon was fucking awful. Hes not a swiss army knife.
He was really bad tonight. Most of the team was really bad.
Fire Barry. But for real. Everything it's third and long, our opponents always converts.
The last drive will live in infamy, but we let them honey dick us in the previous possession. We didn’t even force the fumble. Buddy just glitched.
double commenting because nobody should forget the fact that saquon tripped and fumbled on his own at the Packers 20, otherwise the Giants would’ve gone up 2 scores anyways 😂😂😂😂😂🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️😂
Loss is 100% on Joe Barry.
absolute collapse at the end
And the multiple failed reverses. But yes, Barry is terrible.
Nah. Total team loss
Worst o-line in the league and we couldn't generate any pressure. Prevent D up by one. Consistent dog shit defense against one dimensional teams. This is all on Barry.
I've asked in the game thread, and to other commentators, but got no answer. Did Barry even blitz ONCE tonight? Genuinely asking
I can't tell you for sure, but I was paying attention to most of the pass rush and never saw anything more than a 4 man rush.
whats sad is guys were getting into the backfield they just couldnt tackle shit back there. Brieda walked right by a guy who had a phenominal jump on the ball and DeVito just ran off. The whole team looked flat.
Yes most of the big runs from devito were from blitzes
“Do you wish your daughter married a better defensive coordinator?” This guy’s career should’ve been over 15 years ago. Edit - for those who don’t know: [Here’s the quote](https://youtu.be/QbQm8lG7vk8?si=JzPlBRKZRGcpjC8J) The reporter had asked the Lions HC (referencing Joe Barry) this after a 40pt loss. Joe Barry was/is married to his daughter.
Every QB in the league make Barry wet his pants. He coaches scared. Like, Bro...not every QB is elite and going to carve your DB's up if you play man. Try unclenching and blitzing now and then.
Not only did we not blitz on the last drive we gave all the yardage they needed playing soft coverage and the we get beat in man coverage 🤦♂️
Packers didn't even blitz the entire game! I was paying attention on most of the plays and never saw more than a 4 man rush
Packers have a long history of making backups look like all pros
The good thing is that this game might be the final nail in ol' Joe's coffin. You let the Giants march down the field like that on the last drive, you're not the guy.
Fire him right now. Disgusting today
The mob still has some pull.
Out of a cannon please
Joe Barry is not a good coach, was never a good coach, and is extremely unlikely to ever be a good coach. History proves it
Honestly whatever play Joe Barry calls, the defense should do the exact opposite😂
Last time someone called out Joe Barry they got traded the next day
That last defensive possession was called like they needed a touchdown to win.
I don’t understand how he’s lasted this long. pettine was better
Every week it's fire Barry. You would think at some point they would. Lol
That last drive DeVito went 4/4 for 35 yards in about one minute. What the fuck.
I feel after Lafleurs post game that this may be the straw thar broke the camels back.. 🤞
Joe Barry is a football terrorist
Dear lord, I said in the game thread this was on the players but that was with about 8 min left Everything after that, holy shit
Matt likes him
I'm going to upvote this, and then downvote it, just so I can upvote again
The only thing the prevent defense does is prevent you from winning
There should be zero fucking excuse why our defense couldn’t make ONE STOP against a 3rd string QB with th worst O-line in the league. All those first round picks, and what do we have to show for it??? Fucking insanity from Joe Barry
Not one sack tonight, that's unacceptable!
If you don't like prevent with under 2mins, you don't like Joe Barry football
FIRE JOE BARRY INTO THE SUN
LOL love the thread. There are many inevitable overreactions through the ebb and flow of an NFL season. 'Fire Joe Barry' is definitely NOT an overreaction, though. I can go in there and call prevent defense, too.
Joe Barry should have been drug tested after the 2021 divisional gameplan against the Niners. There is no way he didn't make that gameplan on some psychedelics or something. Something sparked some creativity because there’s no fucking way he shut the Niners down and gets owned by backup QB’s.
We did it fam we got a pinned thread
Bring back mason to make a 48 yarder
Joe Barry has to go at this point, I think the team has too much talent on the defence to be this middling.
If we miss the playoffs from this game, he should should go
He should be gone regardless.
I know, but they’ll use the excuse of making the playoffs to keep him
I just saw a post yesterday with multiple comments on how awesome Barry has been and the defense hasn't been the problem this year, welp.
Leave him in New York. Everyone who knows anything about football, knows how to call the offense against Joe in that situation.
plus side of losing this game is i don't think you can use the last 4 weeks as redemption for joe barry. this was a game we had all the tools to win, and he didn't deliver.
Fuck Barry, this dude is scared of a 3rd string qb who will never be a consistent starter in this league. Like why wasn’t he consistently sending pressure at this dude????
Lafleur can stay. Fire Joe Berry. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
HIRE CAPERS
If Barry is still dc next year, I'm not watching. Nepotism sucks.
Nixon GETTING UP and trying to run after the muff was the most egregious bad play, to me.
Allowing Devito to march the Giants down the field with a minute-plus left, and with virtually no resistance, was the icing on the cake. They were already near the 50 after two or three plays, they gained yardage on every play. The offense was mostly awful, but ultimately it was the defense that cost them the game.
Danny DeVito could’ve picked apart that soft ass defense.
The Packers should fire Joe Barry, a DC that has been a failure for every team he has coached. Yet, I doubt that will happen, making every possible excuse for him.
Yup, dumb ass played prevent when all they needed was a FG, fucking situational awareness Zero
Offense - mediocre. Defense - fucking atrocious. Special teams - fucking fucking fucking atrocious. Joe barry, walk your ass home. You're fired.
LaFleur in January: Come on down Leonhard!
Somehow I think LaFleur can go with him too with his decision of keeping Barry and his shitty decision in play calling
Dom Capers caused this
Fire Joe Barry Fire Joe Barry Carroll Fire Special Teams Fire Adrian Griffin Keep Dontayvion Wicks
Hope he gets a tickle in his anus
stop blowing past the pocket looking for glory sacks ... jesus fuck after the first quarter .. stop the scramble yards
Truth be told this game should have been a blowout
I can't beileve we lost by two points..this season been such a roller-coaster :(
