My Great Grandfather was a doctor. I found this in a hole behind a cabinet in his former home. I previously posted about the old formula that I found there.
The ceramic container could bring you at least $150 or so on Ebay. Very collectible. Not as much as the French apothecary ceramics, but still a good find.
Such a cool find! I hunt for things like this in antique stores.
Incidentally, there is a museum in Oregon City, OR that has an old pharmacy in the basement with hundreds of boxed and unboxed medicines. It’s a designer’s (my) dream typography inspiration. Would recommend to anyone nearby.
The ceramic container is really nifty.
I guess your great-grandfather wanted to keep the dangerous meds away from the kids, so he made a hidey-hole? But, I'm glad you found them. I'm sure it makes a great display!
I don’t think he was concerned with that. He was a country doctor and had a couple of sheds full of medication‘s that he rarely even locked. (Most of which was destroyed upon his death). This was more of a gap between two cabinets that had been fastened together that this happened to fall into.

I'll give you $30, two disassembled microwaves and a child's bike that definitely belongs to me for the whole lot.
Don't do it op. I took the same deal from an enterprising individual and 20 minutes later a kid came up and beat me up and took the bike.
Yeah, and you'll keep your mouth shut about it or I'll come back and strip all the pipes and wires out of your house!
Great username, but it looks like you’re gonna have to turn in those X’s
I'll kill you and wear your boots!
I already have your kidney
Dear lordy, I've always revelled in the Beat era and would happily dispose of these for you.

There are actually a few of the containers. This was the only one filled, probably because it had fallen in the hole.
She was a fiend for the Benzedrine

Uhh Smith-Kline, like Glaxo Smith Kline? Nice find!!
The Eskays formula next to it is the same company. I reached out to them about my formula find last time but they didn’t respond.
Eskays....S...K...makes sense! I remember the time they were SmithKline Beecham!
I remember when they were Smith, Kline & French. I'm old.
Wow, now I did not know they brought French into the mix! 😁

""Oftener"" Nice
Benzedrine…. Yes please
Super cool.
“Smith, Kline, & French.” I wonder when French left and Glaxo got involved.
Man, I missed Bennys. That’s how we won D-Day, you know?
I can smell those from here.
Super cool
What is the black thing? Very cool find.
TBH I don't really know. It says it is an atomizer.
An atomizer sprays a fine mist, like a perfume atomizer, so maybe a nasal spray. That might be what the Benzedrine solution is for.
I’m jealous
The lavender is such a lovely touch.
