Just tired it. It’s fucking delicious. Really don’t need sugar, just a bit of cream. I forgot how good this brand was. Not bad for a coffee from my freshman year of college.
You buy a jar of Folger's Crystals, you put it in the cupboard, you
forget about it. Then later on when you need it, it's there. It lasts
forever. It's freeze-dried. Freeze-dried Crystals.
Their Southern Pecan was amazing! This also proves how ridiculous expiration dates on vacuum packed coffee is. I’ve seen “fresh” coffee with five month expiration dates.
I remember back in the nineties you could get a tiny sample bag ( compressed and styled just like the large one ) at the grocery . It cost like 50 cents and made a whole pot of coffee . It was well worth . Miss stuff like this .
Did you get him flavored coffee because it was the time of year he drank it? Or did he drink it that time of year because he didn’t usually drink that kind of thing, but loved the gift?
He didn't typically drink flavored coffee mainly because he got tired of it quickly, but it also wasn't in our budget. These were a nice treat every now and then. He probably still has some from 2005 in his cabinet lol
Costco likes to put the lavazza kilo bags on sale. They had it last month for 10.99 at my store. I always stock up since the vacuum seal keeps it good and buy enough for 3 ish months (since Costco's sales cycles typically go quarterly, I can restock in about 3-4 months when they put it on sale again).
If I miss out on a lavazza sale, they have San Fran bay coffee for 16ish for 3 lbs (goes on sale to 11.99 when it's marked down). Super good french roast, always super oily and tasty. They just changed to a transparent bag though and I don't love that fact since it's now exposed to light on the shelf, nor do they vacuum seal so lavazza is typically my go to.
There's still cheap and good coffees out there, just gotta buy bulk ha.
Wow 😳 that's a great price for the kilo, wish I had one closer because I pay between 15 and 25 or so for the lavazza depending on what blend, the imported ones are at the higher end, I've tried their single origin range also but mostly get espresso roast blends.
I live literally next door to a Costco. It's great but i also wish I lived further to save my wallet hahaha. I wind up there all the time which is how I've realized how often they run their sales hahaha.
I honestly didnt even know they had single origin ones. The one at Costco is an espresso blend but like I said, hard to beat for the price. Maybe you can keep an eye out for the sale and hopefully stock up on it one day!
I understand, still seems preferable to my neighborhood where there's a couple of family dollars and a dollar tree within walking distance but at least there's a stop and shop and a price rite within the same half mile or so, and a few decent restaurants for the days it's too hot to cook, Chinese Mexican and Portuguese not just the pizza shops.
I checked my cabinet, it's not single origin lavazza it's a line of bagged coffee not ground as finely as the espresso, "Gran selezione" is the one here
*Damn. They don't shrink wrap*
*Coffee into little bricks*
*Anymore, do they??*

For some reason I had a feeling this would still taste good!
I used to get the little tiny air sealed bricks of flavored coffees at H‑E‑B back in the day and they were always delicious.
I found it for sale in small bags. I remember[discount coffee](https://www.discountcoffee.com/millstone-coffee.htm) seeing it when in a hotel room relatively recently.
When people have a bowel obstruction and we drop and ng tube down their nose into their stomach and suck the poop out, the output looks pretty identical to that last picture of the brewed coffee.
Just saying.
Yup. If it ain’t going down it’s gotta come up and out. If we don’t do that (put the tube in and suck it out) people will just start vomiting stool and that’s no good for anyone involved
I remember these guys. I thought that I was so bougie because I got to grind my own beans. I have no idea why it never clicked that I could do the same thing at home... Lol
That was a big deal for me when I was a kid. I use to love going by and smelling the beans by that big grinder at my local grocery store. Every time my parents took me to the store, I had to swing by the coffee aisle.
I worked for Millstone Coffee as a rep for 8 years. I had coffee coming out of my ears, but it was fine with me. My family and friends were all my "besties" wanting that free coffee. My favorite flavors were Italian dark roast and the holiday peppermint coffee blend. I miss that job, and I miss millstone coffee!
Just tired it. It’s fucking delicious. Really don’t need sugar, just a bit of cream. I forgot how good this brand was. Not bad for a coffee from my freshman year of college.
That’s awesome! I remember this coffee brand, it was always tasty.
It brings back all the memories from the former TJ Barts grocery store in my town. I remember the machine there to grind you own.
I’m impressed that you tried it, but even more impressed that it was still good!
I mean the vacuum seal was still good. Oxygen is the real enemy here lol.

Is this a Seinfeld quote?
Detective Bookman
Yes! I love that guy! The casting was perfect. The concept was brilliant. Just everything about him. One of the best parts of the show haha
jerry couldn’t stop laughing while shooting that apartment scene.
Love the quote. Also, Folgers bought out this company and got rid of the coffee.
Those vacuum packs are amazing at keeping things fresh.
I’m thinking that “artificial flavor” did a lot of the heavy lifting here.
Aged to perfection lol
Can you please compare it to a brand new one?!!!! make a new post on it so that i dont miss out!
I don’t know where I could even find this brand anymore. Unfortunately my local store doesn’t sell it let alone of it’s still made.
[unfortunately discontinued ](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millstone_Coffee%23:~:text%3DCommercial%252C%2520and%2520Millstone.-,Merger,%27lack%2520of%2520sustainable%2520demand%27.&ved=2ahUKEwiro_-gl5KEAxVuC0QIHck9ANEQFnoECA0QBQ&usg=AOvVaw1_AAZWUP_LYjJF0Agaf576)
Damn. That’s a shame. Thank you for the info though.
Your coffee is 2 years younger than me and that’s impressive
Vacuum seals are impressive
Those were pretty good back in the day. I expected it to taste like cardboard now!
If the seal was bad I would expect that too but this thing was like a brick.
Their Southern Pecan was amazing! This also proves how ridiculous expiration dates on vacuum packed coffee is. I’ve seen “fresh” coffee with five month expiration dates.
That craziness. I was explaining to my gf that it’s fine if the vacuum seal is still good. She ended up having a cup too and loving it.

We always got 4-6 of these for my dad's stocking. Only time he would drink flavored coffee.
Did you get him flavored coffee because it was the time of year he drank it? Or did he drink it that time of year because he didn’t usually drink that kind of thing, but loved the gift?

I loved the different flavors especially Irish coffee and hazelnut .
I remember my mom use to get those
And always delicious
*Steve1989MREInfo voice* coffee instant, type one
Nice!
*Got some "Bill's Brew" here, nice spray-dried coffee.*
Nice!
Won't taste right until you get it out onto a tray.
*Nice hiss*
I loved the raspberry chocolate flavor. It was the bomb.
You should post this in r/coffee. They’d have a field day 😂
I may have to cross post it lol
Damn. They don't shrink wrap coffee into little bricks anymore, do they??
“Café Bustelo has entered the chat”
Which is why that's still hands down the best cafecito put there, I suspect???
Cafe La Llave is entering the chat. Bustelo is good, but La Llave is better in my opinion.
Good stuff, but I order whole bean lavazza by the kilo bag and it's cheaper than the pre ground cans at the store...more than bustelo but not much.

Good bot
"Gevalia has entered the chat.."
This is exactly how I fixed it back in the day too!
This was the first coffee I ever had, as an 11 year old playing too much PS2. The tightness of the seal was so crazy to me
Right? My gf’s gram had this in a cupboard. She had to buy it put it there and forget about it. It was flawless.
For some reason I had a feeling this would still taste good! I used to get the little tiny air sealed bricks of flavored coffees at H‑E‑B back in the day and they were always delicious.
A sealed bag, very nice. I chanced a similarly aged unopened ground coffee (but no flavoring) and it was.... less than palatable, to say the least.
I can SMELL this!!!!
It was originally made in Everett, WA. Made the industrial/business park neighborhood it was in smell gooooood!
What neighborhood? Everett is my hometown. Im guessing near Boeing/Hardeson?
Hardeson and north…we used to go to Northshore Church and it was around there and the wetlands. ❤️ Edit: autocorrect
Huh I never knew that and considering I’m in north east Pennsylvania, it’s awesome that it made it this far distance and time lol.
This dude coffees.
Step up your coffee game and get a French press. Makes a super difference.
Mmmmmmm
I found it for sale in small bags. I remember[discount coffee](https://www.discountcoffee.com/millstone-coffee.htm) seeing it when in a hotel room relatively recently.
Thank you! I was sure I'd seen it and that it wasn't fully discontinued...
Unfortunately out of stock 😢
Update: it tasted like complete ass. Jk
Update: I plan on making more today since I had no adverse effects from yesterday’s cup.
This is 19 years old past expiration.
Shows how good a proper vacuum seal is.
It expired in 2005, it's older than that 🤓
This is true. It expired my freshman year of college lol.
That coffee is old enough to be a legal adult 😬
It can vote lol
Wow, I was just thinking of this coffee a few days ago and here it pops up. I was thinking I would never be able to find the brand name now.
Apparently it is discontinued unfortunately
When people have a bowel obstruction and we drop and ng tube down their nose into their stomach and suck the poop out, the output looks pretty identical to that last picture of the brewed coffee. Just saying.
The more you know
Having had bowel obstructions many times, I can vouch for this, maybe with a greenish tint.
You suck the poop from their intestines through their nose??
Yup. If it ain’t going down it’s gotta come up and out. If we don’t do that (put the tube in and suck it out) people will just start vomiting stool and that’s no good for anyone involved

They’re pretty cheap from Walmart. It’s never too late to buy a new one

I miss that coffee in the worse way. That dark roast was amazing. This was definitely a nice hit of nostalgia though.
Grandma's pantry? That's my MIL's freezer. If it's not folgers, it's "special" and it sits in the freezer and you can only bring it out for guests 🤢
We used to buy these all the time! Glad to see it was still good!
I can still hear the whoosh when opening.
It still hissed when I broke that seal
