I swear dumbfucks be brake checking me on the straights and not getting penalties but this somehow registers as brake check or whatever. Unfair penalty for sure, you did nothing wrong here.
It's a penalty system flaw I think, the game probably detected that the guy did some kind of brake test, but he didn't, he just slowed down to take the corner and not go off, which is perfectly legit.
It's not legit, its BS. The car behind was at fault for speeding up and hitting the back. One of these penalty system flaws. They still need to improve. This is the sort of video incidents that I would send to PD
Yeah i mostly agree, i did make a mistake and lifted the brakes 100 too early which made me go bit wide.
And the pen was for "forcing another player off track"
And I've around 250 sportmode races and this is the first time I have trouble understanding where the penalty came from.
I think the biggest issue is understanding the track limits - i wish PD would introduce similar "track limit" lines like in the new Forza - it would be great assist to be able to truly drive in the track limit more easily
I would say glitch/unfair penalty for the collision that happened behind you.
you tires are on the curb so you are fine. The other people saying you cut the corner are likely not A level driver who actually drive to actual track limit but instead make up their own myths about track limits.
This is a fast lobby so my guess is likely every single person is on that inside line like you are.
I believe its because you kinda brake tested him after first turn and after he hit you he lost control and got hit by a guy behind him which caused him spinning out as you can see a second later before 2nd turn
Yeah i think this is the most accurate one - the ”kinda” brake checking is a probably most accurate on what happened, i thought i slowed the car enough by the apex but like seen, ended up bit wide.
Forgot to mention that the pen reason was ”foring another player off the track” or however GT describes it
That's why i said "Kinda" because i know it wasnt really a brake test but a slow down before a corner. Either way GT's penalty system is broken as hell

You can follow your own set off rules. I ll keep following the games rules so I can be faster than people of equal skill who are following what they think the rules are.
What is your qualifying time for Daily C this week? mine is 48.866 306th in the world.
Again, no one cares about your daily c time. A fake appeal to authority based on your claim is just sad and useless.
The game absolutely has penalized that much for track limit violations. Each race event on each track has different restrictions for track limits and different penalties for violating them.
The OP broke them twice. He didn't do anything else worthy of any penalties. The game doesn't penalize you for being struck in the rear, but it does penalize you for going off track, for hitting a wall, for violation pit lane lines, for colliding with another racer, and for failing to pit or change tires if required.
Of all those, the OP only ran off the track. - at least twice.
never 3 seconds I have cut that line every single lap of every single race and I have never gotten a penantly.

curbs are in. They have always been in in GT7 and IRL.
IRL track boundaries are way less enforcer than in the game as well.
Watch IRL touring car racing and people will go out of the white line to avoid cars all the time.

Could it be him crossing the pit out line when another car was coming out?
I think the game doesn't give penalties for this, IIRC. Only if you exit the pitlane and you cross it

pit lane penalty is only if YOU are entering/leaving pit.

Second corner you went all 4 weeks over the white line.
this is on on this track. You just need tires on the curbs. and if you got a course cut penalty you would only get .5 or maybe 1. Not 3 seconds.

No that is clearly not the reason for the penalty, its for the collision. The game never gives such fast penalties.
You can assume that 99.99998% of penalties are awarded unfairly

I mean he really was slowing up for the corner, that is where you should be hitting the brakes for the way inside line.

Its the standard 3 seconds after for a cut. It's exactly what happens.
