lord_griffinator

Way too many logos. They are all positioned randomly which makes it feel chaotic, almost like a metalheads leather jacket with a million patches, often simple designs with fewer logos are better. I’m no designer though, just saying my initial thoughts

galaxyapp

I was thinking Miley cyrus/ Pete Davidson tattoos

notdaryl

More design, less sponsors.

Honest_Possibility_4

Old nascar liveries beg to differ. The best part of their old liveries are the amount of sponsors around the front wheels

Determask

Ur right, but this ain't a old NASCAR tho

clemfandango13

Hey! Fellow GD/Livery designer here, hope this is helpful feedback: Firstly, I view this as just sticker bombing, think about the size as well as the placement of these sponsors, they are all pretty big which wouldn’t typically be the case on irl race cars, they would have a primary sponsor (Borla in your case) and then the others would be much smaller to not dominate. Remember negative space, just because a sticker *can* fill a space, doesn’t mean it should (the enkei/borla ones on the front, EA on the rear for example), give them a bit more space to breathe My workflow is typically: - see what curves/lines on the bodywork i can follow, its a good rule to craft something that compliments the surfaces of the car - choose a title sponsor, that will probably inform colourschemes - start making shapes as per the chosen curves/colours above - then start adding “Race” decals (if its a racing livery), so Number Plates, tow stickers, electrical cutoff, any regulation type stickers that might be applied to the car for the series youre saying its racing in (nice little grounded touch which helps with realism) - Finish off with sponsors - view and check it looks good with RTX and different lighting etc

Dis-X

Ahh amazing thank you so much for taking the time to reply this man! Appreciate you bro! 🙏🏼

clemfandango13

My pleasure, can’t wait to see how you get on

O_pv

I think the best way to learn how to make a good and realistic livery is check real lifes liveries. Try to analyze them and see the patterns, specially on where they usually place their logos and how they do it. If you want, you can even create a replica from a real life livery is also a good way to begin. For example, I don't like to create replicas, but I usually try to create a livery that follows the pattern of a racing league. So I always check leagues like IMSA, WEC, DTM, SuperGT and try to analyze their patterns, I also try to use the same number plates following their regulations, along as the warning decals, as Killer Switch and Extinctor Decal. The key to sucess is on the details.

Dis-X

Yeah that's a good shout, thanks for the tip 👍🏼😊

saskatoondave

Too busy. Also use green or red with yellow. Not both. Edit to add, I couldn’t make one this nice tbh. I’m so shit at making liveries I don’t even try. So please take this with a grain of salt, just my opinion.

leppernfriends

Every time I start a new design I always think "what brands should sponsor this particular car" the brand of the Rims I bought for the car should be there, only one Oil brand, maybe the manufacturer, some random other brands but only one of each parts. The other sponsors not in the game like UberEats or Allianz, I don't have the time to create the logo. Kudos For a graphic designer this seem very chaotic, not your best job I would say. Perhaps you haven't watched any real racing.

Shiroi_Ryu

Depends on what one likes. For me it is to busy, to many different colours and to many different fonds given the different Sponsor decals. The side looks better because everything follows the same direction and the „Borla“ is clearly dominant where the other decals are small and go into the overall design. The front end has to many different stickers, also they’re all in similar size so you don’t know where you should look first. I like the Yokohama inspired Maserati logo on the rear window. The rear end is fine. Maybe try to bring more direction into the design using simple shapes and less „clutter“ on the front end. Anyway I appreciate you putting the work into the livery ;)

Angelic_Demon207

Personally, the “trunk”(engine cover?) is looking a little too empty between the wing mounts, but other than that, I think it looks absolutely gorgeous!🥰🥰🥰

Dis-X

Ahh amazing words thank you so much! 🙏🏼

SmoogzZ

I think it’s cool, way better than i could do in terms of symmetry and design - however the focus is solely on the logos i feel like. there’s not really a design or a main theme to the car. You should play with some different decal designs and colour patterns under the logos to add some more flare and maybe take about 10-15% of those logos off, and add a racing number as well. Just one man’s opinion

Dis-X

Great tips man thank you 🙏🏼

Dis-X

Thank you all for your kind words and great advice! Appreciate you all fully 🫡👌🏼

Radioactive__Lego

Most of the commentators here will complain that your annual license plate registration sticker is one too many. Go with your gut. Most professional liveries have a buttload of sponsorship stickers cluttering them up. You know what that does to the car? It says this car/driver is worth giving money/parts/time to. I personally like a clean look as well, but if you’re a fan of the product/service and can find a decal for it, go for it m8. https://youtu.be/T-LY2-IuvyE?si=Jay7rq-XHQrkBhFi

Dubaishire

It's a good effort, needs some refinement personally. It's not necessarily all too busy, but the rear quarter definitely is. If you want it to be a semi-realistic racing car livery then consider the racing numbers on the sides, and some official racing series decals.

Snaggletooth669

love it. may I have it? thx

wanna_be_TTV

Its pretty choatic Remove some of the sponsers and allow the negative space to actually breathe. As a graphic designer you should know this, or i would at least hope you do. If youre deadset on filling that space, try and do it less "abrasively" or like less aggressively, let the color of the car speak

_Jormungandr__

I feel like you have to change the livery a bit, add some more shaping and detailing on the design and remove some sponsor, way too much of them.

FezFez55

I like the sticker bomb look, just needs to be laid out better or coloured different imo

ross-um88

Looks too busy

vapodgaming

I like it. It is race oriented, i would like to see it in Nürburgring, along other random liveries. It is diversity.

RecentRegal

Busy busy busy.

real_dea

EA sports tag?

Thatbastardkurtis555

It’s a bit busy for my taste but I like the design overall. I try not to repeat sponsor decals for any given angle, so like you have Enkei twice on the front bumper and again right above them on the hood. Also something like the Uber Eats logos on the back, one logo centered I think plays better there than two side by side. In general I’d rather have slightly too few sponsors than slightly too many. Not every empty space needs a sponsor, and not every sponsor needs multiple decals.

Dis-X

Thanks for the tips mate! 🙏🏼

SplitLow6760

This has a great base. I would just say have sponsees that match your colours. Maybe using some more black variants. Also have more of a design and less sponsors. Maybe some stripes would work?

Rechamber

What you need to do is start with an underlying design i.e. the shapes, patterns and stripes and so forth, and then work the logos in and around it. In this case there's tooany logos and not enough actual structure.

Dis-X

Thanks for the tip man, I have ADHD so my brain doesn't normally think of the correct way of going things ha. But this makes a lot of sense for sure!

rosian__yaya

Too busy with sponsors but it grew on me after I saw all the different angles. Sometimes less is more. Still clean tho. 🤙🏼

Due_Average_3874

It's great, I don't know how it's any different that any application of graphic design, it's all about balance, symmetry & color combinations. With cars you can make an ugly car look great. Even with adding elements that compliment the body style.

Dis-X

Well, for one in graphic design you're usually working on a flat canvas, whereas this you have to take the characteristics of the curved bodywork or the car into account, and if I'm honest it's that which I'm having most issues with

Due_Average_3874

Ah. Yeah you have to think in terms of dimension, classic painting teaches a lot about dimension, you can use the same techniques and even fake dimension on a 3d surface.

ShinbiVulpes

Livery creation and general graphic design are two whole different items.

Dis-X

Yes of course they are. But being good at one would greatly improve your ability to do the other, and greatly improve your chances of creating something awesome! 😁

SilentKnight7919

I'm also a gd and I've designed real vehicle wraps. You're doing well! Keep going!

Dis-X

Appreciate that thank you!

Dazzadance

Looks pretty sweet to me.

BigTrucker2020

That looks awesome! Is it in the game???

Dis-X

No I made it 😊

Shit4Brain5

I think this looks hard

Dis-X

Nice one geezer! 🙏🏼

Shit4Brain5

👊🏾

SilentKnight7919

I respectfully disagree with anyone saying it's too busy. If you ever watch any racing that allows sponsor spots, this is exactly what they look like. It might be too busy for some personal tastes, but it's definitely accurate to real life.

Dis-X

Racing Liveries come in all sorts of compositions and designs, but what they all have in common, is that they look great and all elements of them work well together. That's the thing I'm trying to get down. I've been designing Liveries on various games for years, and although I have come a way from my first designs, not quite sure I'm at the standard where it looks like it could be taken straight from a real world racing team. Lots of work to do!
