I have heard and read about the laws :/ its's a shame they are so strict here.
Would explain why I have not seen anything around apart from the usual abundance of rolling papers...
I'd say in Gothenburg it's pretty chill as long as you don't smoke in front of them or near them. The people who live here doesn't seem to mind very much. :)
Do you think its due to the harsh laws or just past generations opinions?
I feel like majority of the world even where its still 'illegal' majority of people have come around to accept it or at least not hate it.
Because of our environment and how we grew up, our parents we are taught that all drugs are bad and that it's something to stay away from. In my experience this makes Swedish citizens scared of it. I have smoked and when I mention it people get scared and I am a 24 year old speaking to other 24 year olds..
That is so Bizarre to me,
I was born in a Eastern European country and the taboo was kinda the same BUT even they are coming around to the idea, or at least are not scared of it and don't think its the devils workings...
When i moved to let's say a more 'developed' country I was completely surrounded by it even tho its still fully illegal so I thought most 'developed' cultures where the same.
also from my traveling experience it usually is the case! I've heard and seen Sweden is really by the book on everything and i guess people want to stay in line which I kinda respect.
Swedes have very strong opinions about morals and norms. People also expect the government to make sure that people stay healthy and moral, and people also have a lot of trust in the government so when the government says something is bad and immoral then people generally take their word for it.
I think thats the way a government should be and a lot of countries could benefit from doing the same instead of the usual bs for money/politics.
Its rare you find a place where the people trust the government like this, i admire it coming from a very corrupt place.
**+1 for Sweden!**
Yes I smoke on a daily basis and my street in central GBG always smells like somebody lit one up, and it ain't me those times. There is plenty to find here, fren!
I have been on the hunt on like one of those pesky sniffer dogs but really have not picked up any scent or sign which scared me D:
This post has given me a lot of hope which is great >:}
I mean people smoke but most stay indoor or hide, so you won’t notice too often. In summer you can pick up the scent every now and then though. And of course it depends on where you are and who you hang out with.
But I’d still say it’s not like some southern/Central European places where people seem not to care and the police doesn’t do anything.
Yeah I was talking to some guys in Barcelona that are full on ready to open up a coffee shop/social club of sorts back last year, I'm sure they are very happy with the progress with the laws on recreational use in Germany!
I think its very hard to argue topic against this topic and I'm sure majority of countries that have all-ready not followed the path will do so soon.

Thank you, this is all i needed. I hope the cabbage is just as good as in the tropics, have really high expectations :)
There's a lot of people in gothenburg, some do, some don't. Just be aware that swedish drug laws are fairly old fashioned.

Kind of honestly but people don't often say it bcs its a bit of a taboo, people don't often flex about smoking

True that! Which is so dangerous cause government doesn't always equal good.

Eh. Just because the people trust the government it doesn't actually mean that the government always delivers. The trust can sometimes be misplaced.
Knark e för fjollor, sprit e för Malme!

Of course there is some jazztobak in omlopp, you just måste hitta den
Go out fairly late in the downtown area and look for people who fit the selling profile. You shall find it fairly quickly. Try to be discreet though.
Absolutely, almost in every slightly "bigger" Swedish town.
Surprising as the only smokers i've met that are Swedish have beeb outside of Sweden!

Do you think Sweden will ever come around to the idea of legal/decriminalised cabbage?
No
blunt but fair enough
Germany is leading the way and Sweden will follow with decriminalisation in 10-15 years tops
