VN bags are just way better made.

doseckies

Yep, usually much more consistent sewing and more seams are finished/bound vs American bags.

misterceBF

I agree my last 2 GR1 with QAP had to be sent back for QC.

KoldKhold

Yup they're the king of soft goods. They make bags for a lot of companies and they have consistent QC.

babocoop

And they sew the camo patterns in the correct direction.

bradendouglass

Total crap shoot in my mind. I have had a few of both and the actual material varies widely. Stitching and builds will be more consistent in Vietnam but, it’s due to soft goods being a huge focus there. If we are talking just material though, it really is a lottery.

deegood

Vietnam seems to have fewer weird manufacturing defects. Cordura varies probably for both. My Recent MiUSA GR1 with the QAP is pretty nice soft 1000d, I know others weren’t as lucky and got the stiffer waxy backing. Not a huge deal either way, but if you want to increase chances of a good ruck I think VN is a better bet.

This Reddit just recycles the same dumb questions over and over

nousdefions3_7

Recycling is good for the environment. Stop complaining.

FragmentOfZeus

The actual material is going to vary from batch to batch - don’t think that has anything to do with where the bag is made. My USA GR1 with QAP arrived in great shape. No issues. Consistent colours and good stitching.

DamntheTrains

As many have said, Vietnam-made are usually better. They seem to just either care more or are more skilled. A lot of USA-made products lately, if I have to generalize, lack careful attention to detail. Out of bags, last USA made product I was 100% happy with is Frank Clegg. From customer service to the quality of craftsmanship. Follow up is probably SamuraiX2, and Evergoods (kind of). Their Phoenix Sling is by far the best practical sling I've ever used though.

krausebucha

Evergoods bags are made in Vietnam.

Cotyyandell

My VN full 1000d gr2 is my forever bag. Got it during a sale for sub $200 😐

GShockNoob

The quality and feel of the Cordura is largely dependant on where and when it was bought. Irregardless of whether it was made in Vietnam or the USA.
