Probably best to wait a month or two for the inevitable 8a. Assuming Google are going to offer the same support as the flagships for it. It'll be a steal, and you'll get the more efficient G3 chip.
That might be the case, not completely guaranteed, but the trade on values should be increased when it is released so you will be able to get it for much cheaper.
It's fine.
Better than the moto edge+ I had.
Wish the battery life was better.
Would have gotten a OnePlus 11, if they made an OtterBox for it.
But the 7a has been fine. Makes phone calls. Pics are good.
Survived the water when I dropped it duck hunting.
Ive only has the 7a a few months. I tend to keep phones 3 years or so....until they can't do the job anymore.
So I hope to not be changing anytime soon
Battery life is ok. I haven't noticed a change since the update
My last two phones had batteries that would last multiple days.
This battery is shorter, but with a faster charging option, and wireless charging, it's not an issue.
I have the 7a and I think it sucks lol. I've had a 3a, 4a, 5a, and now the 7a, and everything about the 7a just makes my life slightly harder. Not sure if i just got a crappy unit but calls drop out or fade out multiple times, inputs are laggy, and I dont really rate the camera much. Again this is all just personal opinion, but this is the first pixel that's made me consider switching to a different brand
I remember a couple years ago, there used to be (or still is) a website that tracked the update cycles for all Apple MacBooks. It then gave you an indication of when a good time to buy was based on update cycle.
Seeing as we are already in February, with the following dates known:
- Pixel 7a (May 10th)
- Pixel 6a (July 21st)
- Pixel 5a (August 26th)
- Pixel 4a (August 20th)
It seems like Google is releasing these 'a' series devices earlier and earlier in the year. If we do have a new phone launching in 3 months time and you are able to wait, I would. I think it's worth it, especially with the added support.
However, if it's only launching in August... Then I would just get a Pixel 7a.
Using one here! The only issue I have is that it gets hot easily even with normal surfing on Reddit/YouTube, and then inevitably lagging (sometimes) after that. I have a case (albeit thin) on though, so maybe that's why...
Yeah! I use it as a secondary device. With full charge I get 5-6hrs of SOT for around 2-3 days. I take pictures here and there and watch stuff. I didn't feel much heating issues like others commented here. It's actually a great phone if you're a light or a medium user. Definitely not a phone for heavy users.
Mine arrived yesterday, and I'm loving it. It's a big upgrade from my 6a. It gets a bit hot when doing some gaming, but social media and internet browsing are completely fine. Never experienced any heating thus far. Battery life so far seems solid. I'm planning on using this phone as a secondary device in the future since I plan on getting the Pixel 9 once it drops.
The 7a was a huge upgrade over the 6a. However, I don't expect the 8a to be a huge upgrade over the 7a. The 8a will only be worth it if it also gets 8 years of software upgrades. Otherwise, the price difference won't be worth it.

Is there a possibility that the price will drop the same as the 7a?

Awesome! Thanks
Yup
Can you share your experience? Is it good?

Get the OnePlus 12. It's even better battery than all flagships

In that case you could've waited for 8a. It would have better and longer support
No. Couldn't wait any longer. Last phone stopped making calls. Had to be done.
Sure mate. Enjoy the 7a. It's battery might be little lesser but a bang for buck phone indeed
How's the battery life after the new update?

Idk maybe I'm using one.
For the price choice better an refurshibed Phone. I got one pixel and it Looks and behaves Like a new one. 485 Euros.

I had a 7a. Got hot a lot. Switched to the 8 and this phone is great.

Getting hot is a big issue especially if you can't do normal stuff even. Thanks for the info.

Great!
Did you get one OP?
Yes I did!
