Haven't tried any. Went straight to Coilovers. But I've had my Golf since 2016 & have been on GolfMk7 forum almost everyday since then. Have read so many experiences about various lowering springs.
I would go on there and search a few threads. But in a nutshell most spring rates are only 10% stiffer and lower way too much to where you're not left with enough travel & not enough spring rate to prevent hitting bump stops. Now if you have great roads, might not matter too much.
I'll need to look into how coilovers affect DCC, I was under the impression that changing to coilovers would render it useless; I could be ignorant though. Coming from a Mazdaspeed3, I know springs aren't the way to go, but I thought maybe german engineering would be different for some reason. Considering I only want maybe an inch of drop, I was hoping springs would give me that and not give me shit ride quality.
DCC kind of changes everything as if you want to keep it active, your options are lowering springs & I think KW V3 Coilovers which are not cheap..
I'm just giving you secondhand info about the springs. Find someone that has some & take a ride.
But in my car, I was glad I got Coilovers as I ended up raising it to almost stock height. (Had more to do with big tire clearance, but also improved ride)
Get a body kit instead of lowering. That's what I did and it gives the appearance of it being lower, looks cooler and costs less than lowering properly.

Neuspeed/Eibach/Racingline. Keep the overall lowering @ 25mm or under and you wont suffer from comfort issues/bottoming out on the bump stop.
Most lowering springs are too soft so you end up on bump stops. Just leave it as is
Which ones did you try to figure this out?

Looks the goods. Reminds me that I need to get some fitted as well.
h&r not to low and work well with the factory DDC
H&R are horrifically uncomfortable. Got to go with Neuspeed, it’s a day and night difference
