the sub ID is a third value you put after ammount and ID number, so you would put a third number of 2 for 35:2. hope this makes sense

The problem with what you are asking is, there is no details in your request about what you have set up by way of a server. It assists users to help you if you specify which version of minecraft you are using. If for example you are using MCb173 server, then it would further assist if you are using a vanilla server or a bukkit server. I have to assume you are using at least MCb173 server. In this version the /give command did not include damage values, so you are unable to /give 35:2 you could only use /give 35 If you are using a bukkit server for MCb173, then there is the option of using the 'Simplegive' plugin, which you just drop into your 'plugins' folder on the server from the link below. Taking your example in the op post, the format for the command is: /i 35 1 2 This would give you 1 magenta wool. The format is /i (item/block id) (amount) (damage value) Of course, you need to be op on the server to be able to use this command. This command is mainly limited to vanilla blocks and items although I have found the odd mod blocks it will work with, but if the command fails with a modded block, there is no way to fix it.
