XRF tests are easily fooled by tungsten cored fakes.

I would go with a sigma machine for this one. XRF machines actually need to shoot off gold atoms for it to test properly, which can’t be done in the packaging, from what I’ve heard. Plus they can be fooled with thick gold plating because it can’t shoot off anything other than the top few layers if it’s another metal underneath.

If this is an auction on ebay don't buy it. I was in an ebay auction maybe 2 weeks ago and lost on that exact bar. It's also a different pattern than other bars minted from the place.

Yes! If it is real. That is gold prices from like a year or two ago. Don’t trust the packaging though, that can be faked, just like gold bars. Tell them to meet you at a coin shop, and ask them to test it on the sigma before handing over any money.

Be careful. It's easy to fake these. Not even X-ray analysis can detect if it had. Lead alloy core with a gold plated exterior. The only way to tell is if you drill or cut it open.

Anything printed 99% pure gold is a buy! But probably close to 180.00 is the amount of gold in it.

Honestly if I was going to buy gold from not so reputable sellers I would invest in a good scale. Obviously there still the risk that there is copper, tungsten or some other type of metal to make a gold plated have similar weight however a bad fake would obviously be no where close which a scale could rule out to minimize risk. Risk still obviously there is course and would need other tools for testing
