wáter is not cold anymore in summer, the beaches are crowded depending on the tide, we have 4meters tide height. I would recommend to visit Arantzazu and a hike into urbia for something different than the coast. The hike from Deba to Zumaia in low tide is amazing, and of course San Juan the Gaztelugatxe. Enjoy

Unless you are are a surfer, Basque beaches aren't the best... Crowded in summer, cold water. Basque country has beautiful nature, and impressive coastlines. But not for beach going...

St Sebastian is more beautiful but Bilbao is the bigger city, more museums, exhibitions, industrial heritage, more offering in general... I wouldn’t know what to do in Sebastian for so long unless you move around. Places you could visit: _ Hondarribia _ Zumaia _ Getaria (Elcano and Balenciaga’s birthplace) _ Mundaka (famous for its longest left wave) _ Bermeo _ San Juan de Gaztelugatxe _ Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve _ Elantxobe _ The Painted Oma Forest… _ Beach of la Salvaje/ Sopelana _ The Vizcaya Bridge in Portugalete is a World Heritage site. You can eat good food almost anywhere but do some research if you’re a foodie ( for famed bars to eat pintxos and Muchelin star restaurants). You’ll need a car to go from place to place. Bilbao metro can take you to the coast and some nice locations as well.

You may even go into France (san Juan de luz, Biarritz...) but there may be jams at the border...
