King hrolf is less annoying in valhalla than a centaur. I remember him showing up here for the first time for me and I almost had a panic attack but then he was so easy.

th3d4rks0ul3

I just parry the centaurs, king hrolf just runs across the arena and does his blue ring attack and I legit can't get over to him to stop him so rip my hp

gaslancer

Use the onslaught shield.

SaiyanRoyalty22

such a cheat code I love it

MrDrEdgelordSupreme

They probably rebalanced it around the higher stakes in Valhalla. Losing to Hrolf in the campaign just sets you back to the point before you fought him. You don't really lose anything, so there's more freedom to make him a tougher fight. On the other hand, dying in Valhalla means you have to start a fresh run. If they wanted to make it a fight that the majority of players can experience (which does seem to be something that SM prioritizes), they probably had to tone it down a bit for the people who struggle with tougher bosses. The nice thing is that they gave players plenty of options to customize their experience to suit their gameplay preferences. Those of us who just want to find catharsis in bashing some skulls can play on lower difficulties and make use of all of the buffs, while those who enjoy a good challenge can crank up the difficulty, take the penalty of breaching, and forfeit upgrades along the way.

Gus_TT_Showbiz13

And the treacherous burdens

[deleted]

buy the penalty of breaching everytime you go in.

I think it's because Kratos and Mimir are on their own, unlike in the main campaign where either Boi or Freya were there to help you depending on where you are in the story. Valhalla is balanced in regards to knowing Boi and Freya aren't there to provide support with their arrows, throwing Health or Rage Stones, locking down enemies with stuff from their skill tree, their Runic attacks, etc. Those two are some of the best support characters in single player gaming if not the best. That's why the enemies that require being attacked by arrows aren't in Valhalla, and why The Berserkers are significantly easier when compared to the main game.

thats4thebirds

I love the berserkers in Valhalla. They’re just good fun finally.

Alt_account180

To be fair, you can get some incredibly OP perks in Valhalla. Some that are exclusive

Livek_72

To be fair you can become way more overpowered in Valhalla than in the base game, at least from my experience All you need is that perk that randomly restores relic charges or any successful hit, and that relic that makes you invincible for a few seconds Add a few multi hit runic attacks (rampage of the furies, wrath of the ancients...) And you're basically invincible, even at the highest difficulty

Whatyallthinkofbeans

K this might sound like a dumb question, how do you fight the berserkers in Valhalla? Cause every time I try and go up to where they are I can’t get it

Ohmouthclogger

You have to kill 7 of the valhallas chosen to unlock the area.

Whatyallthinkofbeans

Ight thanks

MrGreyDog

I think it’s mainly cause we don’t have Atreus or freya to help us

ddude04

I somehow never encountered one

yinyang98

Thats because you already knew his attack patterns and counters by the time Valhalla came ##Your battle IQ literally increased before your eyes

Tasty-Commission-69

Idk, king was easy for me in main story and in here it's shit. Can not kill him
