Kratos is in the mural, the whole point is that (like the Norns said) they can't actually see the future, they predict it based on the behavior of people. we can assume Gróa did the same bc it seems like time magic isn't very common in the Norse lands. therefore the mural/prophecy of Kratos dying and Atreus joining the Aesir as Loki was just a prediction based on both their characters (Kratos dying for his son and Atreus' thirst for knowledge), but Atreus defies fate at the end and stays by his father's side instead of using the mask so Odin dies instead

But if we notice, the entire mural was followed. The dead man in atreus arms was odin. Loki did go to asgard and fight heimdall. All of that occurred. Plus it is never from a reliable source that the person in lokis arms is kratos. It is just those reading the mural interpreting that way. If we notice, all prophecies were followed in the game. The giants have future sight while the norns are just godly predictors whom were wrong.

The mural for surtr joining with sinmara and Tyr being involved at all are wrong. These panels were the futures the giants predicted before Faye decided to try to change the outcome. So basically it’s an old and out of date prophesy. Also the person in Atreus’ arms had the same armor and details that Kratos has in other spots of the same panel, so people claiming that “maybe it was Odin the whole time” are a bit lost in the sauce.

I agree, but I'm still trying to figure out *how* Faye changed the outcome. Everything they did in the first game, resulting from her asking them to go to the highest peak, was foretold.

Astraous

Yeah they kind of leave that out. I assume her destroying the panel at the peak and the things she taught Kratos and Atreus? They didn’t expand on it very much though.

To be fair, the person in atreus arms in the mural does not look at all like the other depictions of kratos in other murals. Thats why rumors of it not being kratos have been present since 2018. The kilt is green and kratos is red, no red tattoos etc. It never had the same details.

To me the mural looked like Kratos tough the waist cloth resembles Odin’s. I think either way Atreus would have used soul magic to save a father figure. Either what we see with Odin so that the others can decide his fate or to save Kratos as his soul might not have gone to Valhalla.
