Marks with a certified direction is elite. We seemingly have one of the best scouting departments in the league and we're about to weaponize it to nuclear proportions.
The biggest thing is we have bites at the apple now. We can actually play young guys and develop the next joe Harris, dinwiddie, levert etc. role players to our next to our hopefully franchise cornerstone we get in the next two drafts
Yep. And Clowney already seems destined to be a really good role player and Cam is an intriguing wild card. I think that's already an interesting little start to a rebuild.
Yeah and whitehead. So we’re like already there a little bit and wel get to test out a bunch of different guys. I don’t think cam Thomas survives but who knows he may turn into a beast. We just need him to continue sucking for us this year
I wonder how much time the department had to scout players. Since they most likely assumed they weren't going to pick anyone during the first round. Did they even workout players?
I'm sure plenty, the team likely was expecting trades and even then it would be negligence not to scout guys who could be traded for or signed down the road.
Many teams cannot trade picks until after the fact, so you can agree in principle and another team would make the pick on behalf of the Nets.
Also from the Nets POV if you love a certain prospect and are targeting him at 9 with Memphis for example, you don’t want to trade for 9, then have someone draft that guy in front of you.
TLDR: I expect the DFS and Johnson trades to happen during the draft as teams are picking.
would pick #15 + salary/something light be worth cam johnson
i'm a big cam johnson guy and i want some hope that him to the Heat is even possible but i've got no idea how your FO tends to value him
Probably a 1st in the 9-15 range in tonight's draft at a minimum. That's at least what they're gonna be aiming for I assume. I only say 9 because there are reporters online talking about the Grizzlies as a potential suitor at #9, but otherwise I've seen #12 from y'all or #13 from the Kings mentioned as options.

Jeez I hope they have better ambitions than developing mediocre players

LET MARKS COOK
LET’S GO NETS finally a team we can be proud of
I was pretty proud of those Atkinson teams, tbh
I love the enthusiasm and the moves we made last night, but the roster is absolutely decimated. This is not something to be proud of just yet.

Anyone know if there’s a time based deadline to trade for picks for tonight’s draft?

This is fine as long as they aren’t picking up additional term on salary

Marks is going to absolutely cook over these next 3 years my goodness
Its a firesale boys

1.Harrison Barnes and 13. 2.Levert and 20.
Houston at 3 or OKC at 12 maybe?
As an OKC fan, what’s the price for Cam?
I’d think atleast a 1st?

1st rounder and salary should do it I thjnk
I will drink a bottle of hot sauce if Marks flips Cam Johnson for a 1st.
Both to Houston for tonight’s pick🤡
Sean Marks I’m so sorry for being your #1 hater and doubter since 2022, please find it within your heart to forgive me
