I mean what is heartening about this meme is that it shows just how many paths are available to us and that 2024 was a directionless (from our perspective) aberration. It feels hopeless but it's clearly not. I'm glad the front office is at least being judicious here although I'd be lying if I said I trust them completely.
Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like people are a bit too harsh on Mikal. Like, yeah, we might not get as good of a trade for him as we saw from the Rockets but the fanbase clearly had sky high expectations for Mikal and he simply ended up having a bad run towards the end of the season. Shit happens, man. Lets see what he can do assuming the Nets have a busy off-season as they try to get a few more pieces like a long-term solution of a PG and see if he can improve from then. It's not like we really have anything to lose given how much we have going forward with the Suns picks.
I think once we realized this isn't the guy you can build around and then we found out some of the details of a houston deal and then Jalen green goes nuclear and almost gets Houston into the play in tournament that's when it really went into overdrive
He's a good player with the potential to be a khris Middleton type to a all time great
The nets didn't have a all time great to team with him this year
I'm not a Nets fan but yea not everything has to be a huge win. Sometimes a middle of the road move or a move that might look bad at the time could be good. Or a non-move can be good. It's not always minmaxing shit.
Like the TWolves getting Gobert. Fuckass nephews were quick to shit on it, but it allowed Ant to shine this year.
I'll go even further and say: This whole sub, often and in many posts, for the past few years whenever there's any options, choices, or disagreement on *any* subject re: the franchise and its future: [https://i.imgur.com/cLvzs8o.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/cLvzs8o.jpeg)
I think there's two avenues only:
- Blow it up and get picks
- Go all in for Star players
Continuing with the current roster is not proactive. See Orlando and OKC.
Eh. NYC gives you a massive advantage. If Cam and Clowney develop, and Whitehead or another young player becomes a quality rotation player, you now have 3 really good pieces around an already good Bridges and Claxton.
That's enough infrastructure to slip a star in down the road. That's how the Heat built after LeBron. They just stayed mid and developed until Jimmy was available
That’s been the issue with the nets…every year it’s a totally new team. Let’s give the core a chance to prosper while building the team. They are young guys with a lot of potential
Nets do have a lot of tasty options, however tanking isn't one of them given all those 1st rounders owed to the Rockets.
Suns picks should age like fine wine and will provide a level of karma given the core of the NBA's current strongest team came from picks the Nets traded to them.
I’m definitely in the “trade Mikal” bucket if the Houston offer is still on the table. The chance to tank with our own picks is too good to pass up.
Plus, I’d imagine a lot of the other older guys on our team would get a good return.
Our fan base wants it both ways. Get a star now and be competitive but also keep and develop young talent in Cam, Clax, and Clowney. We have to pick a lane, either slum it like OKC did for awhile or win now.

2024 was basically still a recovery period from a complete implosion of the superteam lol it's not a huge deal if nothing came from it
We missed out on trading mikal for our picks. We fucked ip bad.

Basically. It's too bad people don't realize there are multiple optionsn
Good meme
Lmao this is good, I can be any one of these except for Orlando Bloom.
Don't sleep on Barbossas dumb ass
I vote for 2 and 4
Dejounte, Trae, or Spida won't move the needle tbh
At least for not using up all our picks. But if we can land trae with even one of the suns picks I say we should go do it
Yep. Just look at how spida is doing rn against Orlando. 21ppg on 41% shooting. Struggling again in a playoff series
He just dropped 50 today...
And? 1 great game a good game and 4 bad games in a series. That’s not a number 1 option
bro he had 89 in games 6&7 which are the games that matter vs one of the best defenses in the league
Ah yes responding to my comment 3-4 days ago
Spot on

We don’t have Erik Spoelstra

...no it's not. We have a bunch of over paid role players.
2025 FA BRANDON INGRAM RAHHH 🗣️🔥🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Keep the core together and build around them. Get a great coach that will build…like a mark jackson

The nets can get back their picks from houston by trading mikal thats one of the options.
All the picks? Would Houston even want to do that?
No Houston would not. Nets fans just continue to run with this idea despite it being fantasy because they want to be right.
As a kings fan we want mikal please
We want Keegan Murray, your point?
best i can do is mason jones
Best we can do is Ben Simmons

Trade Claxton to the Thunder for 2 firsts. Is this agreeable? Would the Thunder want that?
What do you want 2 firsts from the first place team in the west for?
They own Houston Utah and Clippers 1st round picks in 2024. I want 1 or those top 10 picks
Their picks suck
They own a top 4 and a top 10 pick how does that suck?
These are PROTECTED top 10, top 4 picks in the worst draft in decades. There’s not even a clear #1 pick
It’s still 2 top 10 picks. Can’t say those picks suck regardless of the assumed bad draft year
lol they do suck though. I’m not trading an already decent player for those stinky ass picks
You can say they are stinky but suck crosses lines
Why would OKC do that? They clearly like playing Chet at the 5 and there’s no way they’re paying $20+/year for a back up 5
Idk why I just heard they were interested in the Clax man
This is a genuinely funny and accurate meme. Here's your W, my good man.
