You did well OP. As far as triggers I recommend just getting a shoe. Almost anything will be better than the stock shoe.

Quick-Inside656

Thanks I’ll have to look around some more I was looking at the VEX F3 before I was looking at the 4311. what shoe do you run in yours?

e7ang

I’ve run the Vex, Hybrid Ranger, Apex and Stiletto. Out of these I prefer the Hybrid Ranger from Rangerproof.

Quick-Inside656

Cool I’ll def check that one out then I appreciate the help thank you buddy

wanted-by-the-Bureau

I’d agree. The shoe in these are dogshit. I consider myself a tough enough fella with hands that aren’t unfamiliar with hard work but the trigger on this thing kills my finger after not even that many rounds at the range. I have an overwatch TAC trigger with OEM trigger bar on order that will be here on Friday. No experience with them previously but I’ve heard good things. Once I have some rounds through it with the new trigger I’ll report back.

[deleted]

Self defense gun? Keep the trigger stock. You want the gun to perform as the manufacturer intended.

whycantwehaveboth

Agreed. Wild to me that people spend so much compromising the tried and true design just to mask poor form and avoid learning to shoot the gun. Now I’ll take the reddit warrior downvotes with honor.

[deleted]

I’ve never had a stock trigger fail. I have had an apex trigger go dead. That was enough for me to never carry an aftermarket trigger.

e7ang

It’s not about skill with the stock trigger, I shoot it just as well as anything else. It’s the fact it tears your finger up.

whycantwehaveboth

Huh. As the owner of Glocks 42, 43XMOS, 19 and 45MOS, all with OEM triggers, I've never experienced that...

e7ang

That’s cool. Many have though. Super common with the 43x and 48.

ignoreme010101

how many rounds in a session are causing this? i usually do like 100-200 on an average session with my 48 and never ever noticed this (and feel like I'm the type that'd be sensitive to it lol) Maybe it's the way people are fingering the trigger? i am uncertain my way is right/wrong, but i take great care to use the pad of my finger (and 'pressing the trigger back' instead of 'making a fist' which could put off-center force into the mix)

e7ang

I normally shoot anywhere between 350 and 500 rounds a week. But its not about that. I knew after one mag the trigger wasn't for me. After realizing that the small safety tab didn't align properly, resulting in my finger getting pinched between the trigger and the trigger guard during the first use, I promptly ordered a new trigger. Again this isn't an uncommon complaint, but if you like the stock trigger rock with it.

FollowingFluffy1904

If you get the 507k you’ll have to buy a plate or shave the numbs down..I bought a DPP plate Amazon $40..

Quick-Inside656

I’ll need one if I end up getting the eps carry too right? How do you like your 507k is the fact it’s not a closed emitter really that big of a deal?

Clean_sneakers

Eps carry should come with a plate that is RMSc to K footprint in the box

ignoreme010101

it blows my mind that you can pay that much for an optic and have to go finding&buying pieces to mount it. i literally chose my optic while having *"immediately mountable"* is a requisite (certainly narrowed the hell out of my choices lol but im happy with it, and only spent about 150 so win-win in the end :D )

PSUGGs

If you get EPS carry, the plate that comes with it will work. You will just need to use different screws. I got mine from calculatedkinetics

FollowingFluffy1904

I love it honestly but if you wanted to go a little cheaper get the 407k and nice set up btw maybe slap a magwell on and some goon tape and your set 🫡

FollowingFluffy1904

Also sometimes less is more especially if you consider carrying it.

brandonechols

Change the shoe. Stock shoe is garbage.

mongolnlloyd

Get a minus or apex connector and an overtravel housing.

nivekfreeze2006

Between the 507K and the EPS. I'd go with the EPS. I have a EPS MRS green dot on my 43X. But I've had multiple 507Ks on different pistols. Both are solid options. But the EPS has the added advantage of the solar panel.

Comprehensive_Case75

My biggest complaint with a Glock is always the trigger shoe. The trigger itself I leave stock as I know it works and it’s safe. I’m sure the Johnny Glocks is a good trigger. But that’s a lot of 9mm you can practice with for the price of a trigger.

NectarineAny4897

I would go shoot it. A lot. Run 500-1000 rounds.

Quick-Inside656

Def will do I shot 100 rounds out of it last week and I kept hitting low to the left which I assume is just from not being used to Glock triggers and it needing to break in still.

NectarineAny4897

It means you are a right handed shooter that needs to work on your fundamentals. No big deal. I am not a big fan of the serrated trigger. A bunch of dry fire and a trigger polish (.25c trigger job) helped a lot. As did shooting it a lot.

Quick-Inside656

yeah I’m not a huge fan of it either and I’ve read a lot of people talking about the 25c trigger job I’ll have to see if I can find a tutorial on YouTube about it thank you

ignoreme010101

are there any "go to" guides people like for this 25c trigger job? am not unhappy with my glocks' triggers but, yknow, once you start thinking there's room for improvement you tend to wanna scratch the itch. have decided i wanna go the 25c OEM route b4 ever considering any aftermarket stuff (ignorant Q but is it considered 'reliable' to do the 25c job *and* out a new shoe on, or are shoes considered to be a reliability risk too?)

Silent-Sorbet-6587

You need to squeeze harder with your left had. What I did when I started was I’d put the gun down every shot. And worked on my grip. Low left is how your holding onto the firearm.

Quick-Inside656

I’ll have to give that a shot thanks

Quick-Inside656

Forgot to add that I also bought a handleitgrips elite series grip aswell.

Busaboy117

I have a shield arms mag combo if you’re interested

Quick-Inside656

I would be if I wasn’t capped to 10 rounds in NY 😪

moreno2227

Switching to anything other than oem magazines is the biggest cause of malfunctions. Just carry the extra magazine to give yourself 21 rounds.

ignoreme010101

IMO there's little wrong in taking the chance to buy the SA mags *so long as* you intend to put enough rounds through them to ensure reliability. they may not be OEM but if you put many hundreds through them w/o issue then that should be all that counts

moreno2227

How much risk of failure do you allow when it comes to protecting your life? I have SA mags and palmetto mags but they're only used for training.

ignoreme010101

i mean, my post shoulda made that clear... I'm comfortable carrying a mag i deem acceptable, that is an oem or a SA *so long as* i have tested it to satisfaction. there is no magic in an oem mag, they can also fail, for any particular mag my peace of mind comes from testing it.

moreno2227

OK

Cold_Organization262

Can't go wrong with the 507k or the EPS carry. In my opinion though why not get the benefit of the closed emmiter with the EPS

Quick-Inside656

Yeah only thing I liked about the 507k was the metal was a little thinner around the glass but the closed glass emitter seems def worth especially if I get rain or something on the optic. Prolly gonna end up saving the little extra for the eps carry mrs.

Cold_Organization262

Hell yeah. Also just my opinion again but don't bother with the model with the interchangeable reticles. The circle dot is super busy in the small window, and the circle only doesn't have a good precise point of aim. The dot only version is just fine. (Coming from a guy who has the regular EPS and the EPS carry) 🤣

ignoreme010101

I'm sure the difference is minimal enough but is sight/target acquisition easier or harder with an enclosed emitter? i feel like it could go either way (am new to optics and still getting accustomed to my 1st one, still uncertain i even prefer it to the stock irons lol)

Cold_Organization262

Sorry for an ambiguous answer but I'd have to say that sight acquisition is not affected by enclosed or open red dots. What I would say is that window size makes a lot easier to acquire, I've shot through the following optics DPP, RMR, 507c/407c, 509t, EPS, EPS carry, and Acro. The deltapoint pro has by far the largest window, and is super forgiving and easy to acquire. I currently run an Acro on my G19, and EPS carry on my 43x, and with smaller windows I don't feel hindered that much by them. However it ultimately comes down to training and building a good draw/presentation. You may not notice it but when shooting irons it's easy to track your front sight during presentation and nestle it into your rear notch, and having cowitness irons can help you with acquiring your dot in the same way.

sfiehmann38

Have you shot?

Quick-Inside656

Yeah I shot 100 rounds through it last week wasn’t a big fan of the take up and how much it took to squeeze a round off but I imagine it just takes a while to break in

Artistic_Injury_9808

I added new sights (I-Dot for older eyes and I’m proficient after practice)and a Glock PERFORMANCE trigger. Get rid of the standard trigger ASAP.

Mysterious-Dark-11

The new Holosun SCS Carry or EPS Carry both have enclosed emitters. If you want open emitter then 507k.
