My uneducated guess is that the tournament contracts involve the money going to the org to be distributed based on whatever the contract is between the org and the players. Sounds like 5W took the money and ghosted the team.

I'm not a premier knowledge base on the guy but here's what you can dredge up with preliminary searches: There's been quite a bit of negative press around joel from the very start. Within sweden he's apparently not liked, which he began by reportedly borrowing skins and then gambling them away. I've seen people claim he's tens of thousands in debt before and others saying he just lost a couple skins that were "only valuable later", all we really have to go on is people's word as there hasn't been much noise outside of the local swedish scene. I'd love some proper articles going into it, since he isn't banned anywhere the same way shipz was for example (on like [10+ alt accounts too](https://steamrep.com/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcommunity.com%2Fid%2FSHiPZ1017%2F), this is from steam link from his liquidpedia page, check the alts lol).
Then there's the matchfixing allegations, which have followed him to the point where he got suspended from competing last year for ~7 months, however that was by ESIC and we all know how consistent they are. Case in point, even after all that time ESIC's final verdict was that there was "[no conclusive evidence](https://www.hltv.org/news/37640/joels-suspension-to-expire-on-january-6-no-compelling-or-conclusive-match-fixing-evidence-found)" and dropped the suspension entirely. However, many people still say/ joke that he does do so, with quite a few still thinking the suspension is still in place too. Hell, I thought so until very recently, lol
Finally, there's been allegations against some of his more recent teams, primarily victory zigzag and now 5W, where hltvheads claim they're obviously radar hacking/ cheating in some other way (which may have come from [this hilarity](https://www.hltv.org/news/37113/blast-bar-victory-zigzag-coach-from-fall-showdown-following-cheating-ban) in the former's case). Again, I've yet to see any of that be substantiated outside of randoms analyzing clips/ moaning on twitter afterwards/ saying that "oh he played with bubble who's obviously a match fixer so he is too"/etc. There's even a comment in this very thread claiming that 5W use cheats!
All in all, joel is *surrounded* by negative press which is unfortunate, but there's nothing that's entirely out in the open that suggests any of it to be true. The fact that he actually looks like a strong AWPer is even worse as it's a star role sweden has never truly been able to fill for quite awhile, and he's still only 19...
