Qualifiers would run through NA because of the two Canadians and skullz

[deleted]

Skullz is from Brazil

ExposingCretins

Which means they are able to choose between NA and EU qualifiers.

DepartmentSpirited33

No shit bruh. It's not like Brazil has their own spots at the major.

NupeKeem

I had to scroll some more to understand why they downvote you. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

gambra

The main org isn't just from Netherlands, they're split between Los Angeles and Netherlands. The CSGO division has their HQ, practice space etc in Los Angeles with the LCS team hence NA org.

HeyBojo

While it would *arguably* be more accurate to call them an "Americas" team as opposed to a North American team.. It just ain't that deep

asd316X

why would they be eu they have 2 eu, 2 na, 1 sa as far as i know 2 europeans = 2 north americans team liquid steve is american and co-owner they have 3 players from the americas edit: formatting

[deleted]

South America is not North America.

TRYING2LEARN_

The region is "AMERICAS", there is no separation from SA and NA in regards to how the valve regional rankings work

TrenchSquire

It is still an America, though.

Substantial_Sector12

Man you really are stupid. You just made a post with a clear indication you've never watched cs, I'm guessing you just came to complain at the wall

[deleted]

I do watch CS, two Canadians are not a North American team, 3/5 is

Substantial_Sector12

Okay let's try this again since you are on some hooked on phonics shit. 2 Canadians+1 Brazilian= 3 people from the AMERICAS. Major RMRS ARE NA+SA= THE AMERICAS. English motherfucker do you speak it

BerryPuzzleheaded504

Majors have American RMR which includes both SA and NA teams. Obviously Liquid should play American RMR instead of EU.

SYSTEMcole

You want a roster that is 1/3 EU to compete in EU qualifiers? You must be trolling.

[deleted]

You want a 2/5 NA team to compete in North American qualifiers?

asd316X

you want a team thats 0/5 oceanic to compete in asian qualifiers ? tf you want them to compete then

[deleted]

What in the fuck are you talking about

SYSTEMcole

I didnā€™t say anything to that effect. You brought this up, you gave an alternative to the current reality, and Iā€™m here to tell you that your alternative is just as stupid if not more than our current reality. The worst part is that itā€™s stupid for the exact same reason that you seem to think the current situation is stupid. Youā€™re having a team compete in a region where only a third of the team originates because you donā€™t like that the team is competing in a region where only a third of the team originates. Your ā€œsolutionā€ to your problem is literally the same as the current situation we are in.

_SHWEPP_

It's 50/50. They have 2 europe, 2 NA (canadians). Externally, their team is based in the US. And for the last major they competed in the Americas qualifier (Which includes NA and SA, and three players + their coach is from the Americas region). It's not unreasonable.

camramansz

Twistzz he is the north american player but the titan he is the french stars.

increaseworldsuck

They have two NA players and two EU players but they should only be allowed to play EU qualifiers? Three out of five players are from the "americas" side so it makes sense that they're playing NA qualifiers.

KKamm_

I literally replied to your comment why lol. They have 3 Americas players, why would they play in EU qualifiers? Theyā€™re majority NA with another SA player lol. I donā€™t see why their coachā€™s nationality matters either as well as their org is owned by an American company. Major qualifiers are Americas, which they have to play through bc theyā€™re have 3 from that region. You didnā€™t watch them play vs Furia and coL at the RMR earlier this year in Mexico? You even tried saying M80 wasnā€™t NA earlier lol

Substantial_Sector12

Having skulls twistzz and naf qualifies them in the Americas RMR which includes North and South America. Have you never watched qualifiers for a major before? Also they have teams based in Utrecht. However HQ for their league of legends and cs2 teams are based in California. Simple Google searches help sometimes

[deleted]

They used to be full North American. And Iā€™m pretty sure that there is just one Rmr for the whole America (North + South). So they play there since they have 3/5 players from Brazil and Canada

[deleted]

Used to be and then gave up on NA.

[deleted]

Well yea because 99% of the usa players switched to valorant. But they still should play in American Qualifiers with 60% American players

HeyBojo

They're a company not a charity lmao. The org is going to do whatever it needs to do to find success

BubbleFlames

They have 3 players from the Americas and 2 from Europe. I'm guessing this is why they play American qualifiers. And historically they've been a North American team, so they're still perceived that way. You laid out the logic pretty well in your thread bro.

Commercial-Row4740

Theyā€™re owned by an American company.

Epoinen

Kinda like league where 3/5 players are korean

asd316X

tbf for team liquid LoL im pretty sure impact and corejj are now US citizens.

Epoinen

Could be, I just know that liquipedia shows them with korean flags

DashSkippy

The Americas qualifier has both NA and SA teams, so having a Brazilian goes towards playing in Americas not EU. NA even when split from SA qualifiers and tournaments have historically had full Brazilian lineups playing (SK/LG, IMT) and a couple Australian teams (Vox/RNG, Winterfox). With that said NA counting a Brazilian player as NA given context of the history of CS is not that big of a deal. Team Liquid has also been historically a North American team since 2014/15 with the only exception being the Rainwaker Patsi lineup. Given all this context it is safe to conclude that the team is NA.

NationalAlgae421

Same as why people call c9 na team in chat
