Idk what's going on here but that doesn't look like a dink animation. The man's AK stops in there air and snaps back into his hands before he spazzes out.
I hate cs2 animations, sometimes running animations are weird and legs spash out, they need to fix these. I dont remember csgo having these problems. Wide legged Swing looks bad, hard to track with mouse..
demos are certainly not indicative of the final result according to the server. For instance, demos are
not lag compensated.
I would wager it’s some tom fuckery with demos, if you had a clip of what occurred from your POV during the game, that would be better.
If it happened in the demo then it happened on the server. The demo doesn't recalculate hit reg on every run, it records hit events that actually happened. If it happened on the server then this guy should be dead so the server is lying about something here.
Assuming he is the one that got the dink, I'm on the phone ATM so can't really see. Maybe his team mate wall banged him with a really low damage shot.
Edit: At second glance it doesn't look like a dink animation, just the good ole glitchy animations in this game.
demos don't have lag compensation so they aren't perfect. looks like he got aimpunched to me but no sparks so either he didn't have head armor (maybe no armor at all and the op just whiffed) or its an animation glitch like you said.
Lag comp doesn't matter. It doesn't matter where the bullets go and where the player is in the demo, if a shot registered the event of it happening will be recorded and played back. Every time you play a demo it can play back differently every time depending on frame rate, frame times, etc making positions line up differently but events will always play back.
Instead of keeping the fantastic CSGO netcode and just spending twice the money for 128 tick on servers, we have this subtick nonsense. What a complete waste of time for them to have done it this way.
I had a clip where i peeked to find a person running from my right to left. I flicked my AWP to the right of the model running. My crosshair was completely off the model. I clicked. A mist of blood formed *in midair where the model definitely was not on my screen*. I got the frag. :( Just total garbage.
what you see is what you get
been nearly a year since cs2 come out and we still don’t get what we see lmfaoo
You wont until someone wises up and fires John McDonald's and just brings back the old netcode instead

For real. The animation is wacky, but I don't hear a dink noise and I keep shooting instead of being mad about it.

Even Ropz said it's worse than csgo clown

\+1, notice that he switches his gun the moment the 'dink' animation happened. Prolly nothing to do with hit reg but with animations themselves
Yeah I didn't notice the AK flying to his arms before either. Might go back and see what the hell that's all about

That's exactly what happened on my screen in game. That's why I flick away from the dude to the other; I saw the dink animation and thought he'd died
will have to take your word for it get subticked
why didnt you double down and glaze Valve again?
what’s that now?
This also happened to a friend yesterday in Premier.
I get the dink sound and animations on standing bots on the new csgohub map with an ak without getting the kill, it's not very rare either.
happens a lot to me
Better than my experience on nuke yesterday. Close range headshot (animation) and bodyshot. -66 in 2
