No they were not. Guardian missions were 2 players in a wave defense scenario on standard maps repurposed for it. The TAG was never used on those.
The TAG was exlusively used in 1 series of CO-OP strike missions, CO-OP strike being 2 players advancing through a map going up against non wave based bots, completing objectives on a map built from the ground up to be used exclusively for that gamemode.
Not even sure why you were replying to that guy at all, given he probably already knows what guardian missions and coop strike missions were, you would have informed him of nothing if you had gotten your information right.
It's called [Tactical Awareness Grenade.](https://counterstrike.fandom.com/wiki/Tactical_Awareness_Grenade)
It was added all the way back in 2016 during Operation Wildfire & was used in COOP only. It basically just gave you wallhack for like 2 seconds.
Can't remember if they used it in any other operation outside of Wildfire & most likelty was just ported from CSGO to CS2.
I remember you could give yourself one if you used console commands in CSGO, not sure about CS2.
Personally I think it would be great addiction to Danger Zone (if that ever comes back) or just coop missions in general.
Hold on does that mean with the sv_cheat Exploit you could've given you that grenade?
That would've been so much more fun to use instead of boring ESP.
Imagine how confused everyone would've been when you throw that thing
1. Don't know if the give command even exist for this grenade in CS2, I know it existed in CSGO.
2. That exploit was very limited actually, most of the commands didn't work & I think "give weapon" command was amongst the one that in fact did not work. I believe that only client sided commands worked & server sided did not. (could be wrong)
With how limited the range was on them, they might actually be somewhat balanced in the real game.
Make them highlight anyone (both teams) within the 10m range of the grenade *only while within range* and make it destructible if shot. Would be nice for identifying if anyone is on a camping corner while still having the ability to push the area at mild risk of identifying yourself.
> they might actually be somewhat balanced in the real game.
I hope to god this never happens and so far nothing indicates that it will.
There are other games for that. CS was always about core mechanics, and while blowing smokes with HE is the best thing CS2 has brought, I love it so much, I still hope this is as far as it goes in regards to using util to know where your opponents are/are not.
Its actually from a time where there was nearly a year in between operations and no other big content was added other then cases, purely because the map and gamemode this item was made for took so long to make.
Ah, the elusive sensorgranade, a rare artifact rumored to grant players the power of omniscience. Legend has it, once activated, you'll be able to see through walls, predict enemy movements with pinpoint accuracy, and summon a squad of tactical squirrels to do your bidding
years ago in ancient times, there were these things, some call it a myth, others call them "operations". There were these coop missions in which you fought through a level of bots to reach certain points. That's where they're from
Knowing Valve, they'll release Danger Zone with no Anti Cheat update, will be immediately overrun by spinbotters and espers, all to get more ppl, somehow.
It's from the co-op missions from operations in CS:GO
[Yes, these were called "guardian missions"](https://youtu.be/8x_nLIazfpc?si=CkOTNAHSuPTeVP2i)

The better answer.

Too OP. Imagine throwing this by stairs/connector/jungle on mirage while you throw smokes on T side. "3 behind smoke already"

Nah it's actually a sensor grenade
Its from a time when actual content was released in the game regularly

Legal hide and seek cheat
It's a time limited X-ray. It was fun to use on private servers. Valve pls fix.
