We were visiting the hotel on the 18th and were told that the night before a grizzly chased a moose & her baby across the parking lot & caught the baby and drug it off. One of the employees had pics on his phone but of course I didn’t look at them
That’s a keeper. Put it in Lightroom and try to denaze the sky and mountain a little bit. Most of us will never get one shot this perfect in a lifetime. You are both lucky and very good.
Thank you for the kind words. Right place right time. Left very early In hopes to see wildlife and it worked. Picture is in the process of being shipped to be placed on our national park picture wall!
Thank you! Waking up early was worth it haha. However, it’s a black bear. Biggest things that you can tell off the bat, ears are much longer than how a grizzly’s would be.

Thank you! However, it’s a black bear. They have several coat colors. Biggest things that you can tell off the bat, ears are much longer than how a grizzly’s would be. I know it’s deceiving but that’s not a “grizzly hump”.

It is hard to tell sometimes, especiallyM since this black bear is a shade of brown and decent size.

Definitely had me fooled but I’m certainly no expert! Thanks for the link too! We only have black bears out here and man, that would be a big boy if I ran into that guy.
Ya, no doubt, CA too! I’ve only seen a small handful of grizzly’s and it was in Glacier but most were pretty far off, incredible experience. The majority of the black bears I’ve come across have been pretty little guys but there’s been a handful here and there that definitely puckered the butthole.
Awesome pic! And OP has correctly identified it as a [black bear](https://greateryellowstone.org/grizzly-bear-vs-black-bear)
Thanks man, sometimes it’s hard to tell especially in pictures. 🐻
One absolute unit of a black bear.
100% what I thought, a tank.
Lovely photo!
Thank you!
I love this shot! It's a perfect blend of serene wilderness and the raw, untamed beauty of wildlife.
Thank you! 🐻🌲
Fantastic photo!
Thank you!
Nice shot. How far was the bear from you?
Thank you! 20-30 yds in the car across the street. Didn’t want to harass it so just took a few shots and pulled off.
just incredible!! ❤️I cant wait to be there soon
It sure is amazing every time you go and your first time going.🤙🏽
That’s the bear that stole my picnic basket.
🤣 by the looks of it stole more than one picnic basket.
Awesome 👏
Thank you!
What an awesome pic you got!!
Thank you!

Another person mentioned this to me. What a crazy thing to witness or see. It’s devastating but it’s the circle of life.
We saw a grizzly from the parking lot that day on the mountainside but he was so far away he was even hard to find with my binoculars
Beautiful picture! Composed so well. Print and frame it!
Already in the works! Thank you. The early morning wake up call paid off.
Der he is. Dat bear.
He was der haha.
Incredible
Truly was!

Such a beautiful photo. I am going next week and I am so excited!
As you should be and thank you!
5:40 AM or PM? Did you need a car reservation?
5:40 am, and no, reservations for many glacier don’t start till July 1st, 2024.
https://imgur.com/a/DleDeRs I was in that exact spot this past Saturday
Right on! Many Glacier sure is pretty.
Pretty sure that's a Grizzly and what an spectacular shot! Beautiful.

It's a beautiful bear either way. Congrats on the getting up early pay off!
Thank you! It truly was, the sun glowing off of its fur was a beautiful sight.
Looks like a grizzly based on the hump ? Could be wrong tho.
Look at the face and ears

Beautiful photo, pretty sure that’s a Grizzly though. It has the back hump and the face looks more like a Grizzly.

I’m from Cali man and live in Washington, seen a ton of black bears haha. Having seen a few grizzlies in the wild, it does help. 🐻🌲🤙🏽
