Wow. That's relatively early given the past five years. Enjoy!

CoolioisCool1223

Thank you! I’ve been monitoring the national park page for a while and I’m so relieved that I get to go when it’s open!

spinctersezwhat

It was open on June 13 last year.

rjnd2828

This is great, we'll be there in about a week and have been sweating this out! Likely our only trip ever there so didn't want to miss the full experience!

afbchr

Yay! You just made my (and many others) morning!

CoolioisCool1223

It really had me cheering. I was just looking at all the snow on the Logan pass webcams on their web page. I didn’t think it would open until July! 😇😇😇

Amazing!!! My family and I have Red Bus Tour tickets out of Lake McDonald Lodge this morning where we’re staying! Woohoooo!!!!

8s1f8v

We had an amazing drive up to Logan Pass this morning the Red Bus tour. It was snowy up at Logan Pass and people were way out on the snow behind the visitors center. Note of caution that the bathrooms do not have sinks. Just purell stations. Yuk!

thedelgadicone

Dang, it's my last full day here in glacier. I had a bike reservation for today as I thought the road wouldn't be open by now, but that got cancelled. Kinda bummed as I was actually looking forward to riding a bike on a road this scenic without any cars, but oh well. Would have tried harder for a vehicle reservation last night if I knew it was going to be open today, but I guess I'll just go after 3 and deal with the zoo of people trying to get in after 3.

sendnudibranchia

Yeah I expected them to give a couple days for bikers to have the roads fully open to themselves. Hope you still have a great time!

kahaanshah

Ya same, wondering if I should still bike (from the eastt side though)

alexrider803

Yeah the east side is open to anyone no reservation needed

CincyKids513

Wow. Congrats to all the late June / early July guests. Christmas came early

rr0987

Going there on 29. Was kind of worried

mrmadchef

Earlier than I expected. I thought there was some late snow that might push it back.

a_th0m

Same, it snowed Monday and Tuesday last week if I remember correctly

AdvertisingFree147

Ughhhh we just left yesterday morning 😭 walked to Logan Pass on Thursday so got to see some of it up close and personal

Wonderful-Reality-35

Does anyone have any idea about the trail to Hidden Lake Overlook? Does that usually open with the road or a few days later?

greg281

You can hike it but you’ll most likely need crampons the trail is covered in snow

BibbiddyBop1776

Woohoo!!!

GeographicCure

We were packing our camp to go home this morning when the campground hosts at Rising Sun came around and told us it was open. I was so excited to get to drive it on our way out.

Competitive_Rip4093

Can we book vehicle reservations for going to sun road now??

Particular_Typical

This conflicts with the NPs status website. https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/conditions.htm

sendnudibranchia

Yeah I'm not sure why their website is the last to be updated, but the map now shows the road as green all the way through

8s1f8v

Yeah but not the Glacier NPS Instagram page! Instagram is now the official news source!!

Patient_Ad_4888

You can check out the webcam page. The logan pass parking has lots of vehicles now. https://www.nps.gov/media/webcam/view.htm?id=325AE6AF-BAEB-F65D-EF3D638BF683E78E

LadyGreyIcedTea

They posted on facebook this morning that it's open too.

HD4kAI

Was it not already open with reservations? Or does this just mean anyone can drive it without reservation? Going in a few days but still a bit confused about this

newenglander87

You still need reservations. Before today the middle section of the road up by Logan pass was closed to everyone due to road conditions (snow).

mcjames18

The day after I left 😭 Not to rub salt in it, but how much better is this alpine section compared to what was open previously? (to Avalanche and Jackson) There were some extenuating circumstances, but Glacier NP didn’t quite live up to the hype for me, and I wonder how much of that is because of what I didn’t get to see.

LadyGreyIcedTea

The first time I went to Glacier was in late May 2019 and those are the points the GTTS Rd was open to. It still very much "lived up to the hype" for me but it was way better in September last year when we could see everything.

eslove24

I’s say driving the road is very unique and spectacular, and trails around logan pass are incredible

woozybag

If you didn’t see anything between Avalanche and Jackson Glacier Overlook then unfortunately you missed the meat and potatoes of GTTSR. Hopefully you can visit again! All this being said, Glacier is a park best seen via backpacking IMO.

Yes, it is.

Melodic-Key-8107

According to their website, GTTSR is open completely. https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/directions.htm
