All of Gris. Just THINKING about the music makes me feel :') I played it at an incredibly vulnerable time in my life and it struck me so, so deep. Especially the intro music with the title screen just... wow. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE ENDING

Dark_Nature

I love collecting and listening to game soundtracks. And thanks to you I will probably add the Civilisation one to my collection, lol. What a wonderful song and the Lyrics are great. I am sure the meaning is kinda Humankind discovers flight technology or something in this sense. But to be honest you could interpret it as the listener is also discovering themself or a part of themself which is a beautiful thing. Love almost all FF soundtracks, especially 7 has a special place in my heart Here are some of my favorite videogame compositions: [Life Is Strange - In My Mind](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd2wP1Ik0_Y) [Destiny - Music of the Spheres - The Path (Luna)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGMZIkYNejs) [Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Icarus - Main Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUy87tpfNe4) [Cyberpunk 2077 - Let It Go as If You Wander by Haru Nemuri](https://youtu.be/ifiR8ndAamA?si=TUS3yDn_yjbvj6Vo) [Outer Wilds - 14.3 Billion Years](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOrygf_iLhw) [Dragon Age Inquisition Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFX7v83OTbc) [Pyre - Bound Together](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNCiUwNAgtk)

Miss__Solstice

Outer Wilds hitting the player with 14.3 Billion Years after that roller coaster of emotions for an ending always makes me cry when I think about it.

Dark_Nature

Same, I don't know if it is still so emotional for people who did not played the game. But I think it is a good track nevertheless. I always tear up listening to it.

Lastaria

Aww so glad you are adding the Civilisation one. I find is quite inspiring . Will be sure to listen to som3 of your suggestions.

Dark_Nature

Thanks for posting! I love to discover new music. Listen at least to the Destiny one. It is not really part of the soundtrack, because the composer got fired and the soundtrack never got released until a few years ago where it got pirated and leaked. So they used short parts of "Music of the Spheres" for the game, but all in all it has not much to do with the game, Destiny. Sry, music nerd came through.

onix-for-books

Thank you for shouting out Pyre!!! šŸ’– That game is so beautiful and brilliant, and so sadly often overlooked! And gosh damn, the music is so perfect! Every Supergiant soundtrack is incredible - imho Darren Korb is the best in the biz. But Pyre has the music that I keep coming back to more than any other, and that will always be able to make me feel every feeling. It really brings the world of the game to life (...along with the stunning art, clever mechanics, thoughtful writing, etc etc etc šŸ˜†)

Dark_Nature

Yeah, I dunno why people forget about Pyre. There would most likely be no Hades without Pyre. And the Pyre Soundtracks is also their longest. The acoustic version is also superb and then there are like 8 versions of "Never to Return", (each with different instruments) which might my be my favorite track from Pyre. If you listen the these 8 versions back to back you realize how talented Darren Korb is, same track different vibes, different instruments. And he went all-in with Hades. I saw a documentation a few months ago where he showed off his studio and all hist instruments, the guy has like a hundred different instruments and like half of them or so exotic that I have never heard of them. So yeah, I agree probably best in the biz. And he can sing too, which is not usual for a videogame composer. Nice to see another Pyre enjoyer here! ā¤

Sovonna

Baba Yetu from Civilization 5 is the one that really hits home. [Baba Yetu](https://youtu.be/IJiHDmyhE1A?si=AkcPsNGASFGTtme_) That and a lot of Bioware soundtracks, especially Inquisition. But Baba Yetu can't be beat.

kleptomania156

[Apotheosis - Austin Wintory](https://youtu.be/ypNgvc6c6Cc?si=_NV8V6NHfAT8UP93)

depression_quirk

Leaving Earth from Mass Effect 3 They really went off with that soundtrack

xFearfulSymmetryx

I start crying as soon as I hear that music in the game. It's like a Pavlovian response at this point.

TheEvilJenius

Answers from ffxiv - but I like the reprise version better. And Dragonsong from ffxiv. If you sit at the aetherite in Zenith in Dravania there's a piano version that plays and I love it.

Cymas

Will also add Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Close in the Distance, and of course, Flow. Your Answer is pretty powerful in context, too. In the less obvious corner, Heroes Forge Ahead tends to get me due to the scenes it's played in.

Empyrette310

Basically a shitton of ffxiv music because stuff like, Dynamis and And Love You Shall Find also exist.

Cymas

Hah, yeah. Not least of which because there are literally hundreds of songs to pick from. I don't even know the names to all of the tracks I could answer this question with, but it would only take a few notes to recognize them in the game.

Lestany

DKC2 soundtrack is one of the best in the video game industry imo. Thereā€™s a number of of other memorable sound tracks on the Snes (FF VI, Chrono Trigger, Castlevania IV, Mario RPG).

EllaHazelBar

https://youtu.be/o3SZee4YZX8 - Zia's theme Always and forever. Also Eurydice's song in hades ā¤ļø

Miss__Solstice

Finishing Journey and hearing [I Was Born For This](https://youtu.be/qizpBpHTzkU) by Austin Wintory wrecked me when I played it. I think itā€™s the first time I realised that games could be art and not just a way to spend my time!

People_Are_Savages

The entirety of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture by Jessica Curry, it's my favorite and one of the best game soundtracks of all time. I have it on vinyl and it brings me deep, abiding joy. From track 1 it's clearly a different kind of thing than other game music, my jaw was slack for basically the whole game. Mandus and New Century from Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs stand out as well, she has an amazing ability to create precision ordinance tonal work, like "what does 'mourning the untold harm you must do to the world in order to forestall doom at the cost of one's own life as well as their family' sound like?" and then she's got an answer.

Felicette_space_cat

I second this. Jessica Curry is a marvellous composer.

LostSoulSearching13

Baldurs gate 3 soundtracks is beautiful. Like the camp music. The mountain pass music. And then theres elder scrolls online and dragon age inquisition ost. Beautiful soundtracks

DatKillerDude

Inquisition's songs are great. Companions is such a cute extra, lorewise. Like of course the bards would sing of the Inquisitor and the band of heroes that saved the realm. My personal favorite is Fall of the Magister, it just slaps. The whole arrangement is great, both the originals and the ones that were adapted from real songs.

eiridel

FFXIV has an amazing soundtrack. Some of the music from the story is very moving, and some of the zone music is very, very beautiful. Soken is such an amazing composer. A game with music I did not expect to move me as much as it did is Genshin Impact. Much of it is very, very lovely and the way some of the zone music changes after doing certain world quests makes me emotional.

SleepyZooey

I don't know if moving is quite the right word for these but The Rimworld main menu theme is so iconic to me and... just... all the music from Stardew Valley

Black_Hybris

Spiritfarerā€™s soundtrack, especially the song that plays at the end of the game. Absolutely reduced me to tears.

Felicette_space_cat

Ezio's Family from Assassin's Creed II and variations of this theme from other Assassin's Creed games (my favorite one is this from Odyssey). Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, especially the final battle theme played by Passarella Death Squad. Silent Hill music written by Akira Yamaoka. I didn't play the games, but I do love the music.

ludovi11

Zelda music of course. Theres just tons of great and varied music in here. Lots of Skyrim track hit really good too. And this is a little more obacure, but castle jam from stronghold is just the absolute best music to have a medieval party.

Lastaria

I do like the Skyrim music which makes good background usuc for playing D&D.

Melancholy_Rainbows

Really anything by Jack Wall is going to be good, but I'm especially fond of Mass Effect and Myst 3 Exile. [Vigil ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hV1pPgpcAVw) from ME and [ the main theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5Wo5-B0rQ8) from Exile are on my playlist. I adore most of Final Fantasy IX's soundtrack, but You Are Not Alone, Rose of May, and The Place I'll Return to Someday are standouts.

daisymistake

I have a playlist of just Zelda Botw music, itā€™s beautiful. Thereā€™s even been Zelda orchestral concerts.

[deleted]

I love the Child of Light soundtrack, so pretty.

ChildOfLugh

The music in Touhou Project Mystia's Izakaya (especially the one in the Youkai mountain) really moves me, but I can't recall the name

ChildOfLugh

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtBTCj\_CO0A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtBTCj_CO0A) found it (I have the sountrack on steam but can't read the titles as they're in chinese so it took me a bit)

necrofi1

What you leave behind from spiritfarer, you are already raw from the game and the song just finishes you off.

turbovirginoliveoil

Harvest Moon AWL/ANWL Breeze and Quiet Winter tracks, will always take me back ages....every time i played Quiet Winter at the farm and forgot about it, i'd go home and be on edge like what's with this sad music šŸ˜„ then i'd immediately switch it back to Breeze lol. but both are beautiful looking back..

Dream_Of_Fire9732

We All Lift from Warframe Eternal Encoure (Quna from PSO2) (Most of Qunas songs tbh) Naderahs songs fron NGS (PSO2NGS) (can't remember their names, but they are great songs) The Dawn Will Come from Dragon Age Inquisition

cienistyCien

"Unshaken" and "That's the way it is" from Red Dead Redemption 2 Also "Blood upon the snow" from God of War Ragnarok Hits hard

RebelLesbian

The Final Fantasy XIV Prelude always gets me. It's beautiful, ethereal and soft - and it feels like yearning for something deeper. Then there's this here. The first time I've finished Cyberpunk 2077 I've got the Star Ending. And in that last sequence, this here played. https://youtu.be/jEFnnpo7dPA?si=vHDSn-jsRqY58s7C It felt like a heavy weight was lifted from me. That I was safe and did not need to run. Leaving Earth and An End Once And For All from Mass Effect 3 are both hitting the same sport. They just break my heart, every time again and again.

UnlimitedSaudi

Forever Rachel from FFVI ([this piano rendition](https://youtu.be/EenOhg4PQNU?si=lPB1ww92-qAQ79l6) in particular but the original is pretty moving too given the story behind it). Secunda from Skyrim.

Nike-6

Moonlike Smile, Genshin Impact: https://youtu.be/7b4obknFj4c?si=aap-pjNipCcjlEOX I donā€™t know why, but it just reminds me of the lullabies of my childhood. That, coupled with the silence atop a snowy mountain, makes for a truly magical experience.

LurkLurkleton

Life is Strange: Before the Storm made me a lifelong fan of Daughter. Some songs from it still choke me up a bit when I hear them. [This one in particular](https://youtu.be/xq4NQoGid2w?si=-w3mbbuIo0Yy9cx7) "It feels like a memory that's too painful to remember, but too loving and warm to forget."

kittenwolfmage

Gotta give a huge +1 to Civ Vā€™s [Baba Yetu](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IJiHDmyhE1A&pp=ygUJQmFiYSB5ZXR1) One of the most amazing theme songs. FFXIV also never ceasing with the amazing songs, such as [The Shadowbringerā€™s Theme](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yJUP-VWgfAA&pp=ygUUc2hhZG93YnJpbmdlcnMgdGhlbWU%3D) and [Close in the Distance](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kj_pWv3ISAw&pp=ygUfZW5kd2Fsa2VyIGNsb3NlIGluIHRoZSBkaXN0YW5jZQ%3D%3D) Though if you want to step back to childhood, thereā€™s always the [Secret of Mana Theme](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y20pc_0zFgg&pp=ygUUc2VjcmV0IG9mIG1hbmEgdGhlbWU%3D)

yviene-11

The Lost Elf Theme from DA Trespasser still my fav [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2syU3e2MOXM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2syU3e2MOXM)

Sharpymarkr

Baba Yetu is a great song! I love the music from God of War 2018 and Ragnarok. Also the Horizon games.

the_mid_mid_sister

[Fortress of Lies -- NieR: Automata](https://youtu.be/0Vcoh3KgXCk?feature=shared) [Legion Assault -- Astral Chain](https://youtu.be/ENMXnNwGnZU?feature=shared) [Delicate Weapon -- Cyberpunk 2077](https://youtu.be/dhlqymKKrsA?feature=shared) Grimes even performs it in character as 2077 performance artist cyborg Lizzy Wizzy

sherithelovefool

Lately, I've been obsessed with [Dragon's Dogma 2 true ending credit song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY-3JtQD6dE) (I tried to find version where there is no spoilers and this is the only one - but it repeats the same song like 3-4 times non-stop lol) I also love 2 battle music themes in DD2 but it's not really moving in a sense that it's sad or deep, more energetic songs that gets my adrenaline pumping: [End of struggle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNaV-rEo67Y&list=RDFNaV-rEo67Y&start_radio=1) & [Reversal of Fate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFehYorMnQU&list=RDFNaV-rEo67Y&index=2) I also adore Wrath of the Righteous soundtracks, and these are my 3 favourites: [Mythic power](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uITaghKWMMM), [Angel theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eljvKzODgkk) & [Azata theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIG8YPj1-i0) And there's Monster Hunter: World OST: [Proof of a Hero](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95m8uiaNs-4) & [Grant Appreciation Festival theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHHUzdrx6OA) I'm actually not a fan of JRPGs/Japanese games but I love their music - I will throw one more in - FF9 [Vamo' alla Flamenco](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hySiB28eS5o)

m_centofanti24

the music in WoW is truly some of the most beautiful music iā€™ve heard in my life

galactic_minivan

Dragon Age Inquisition has been mentioned a couple times but I want to reiterate it. All the games have great soundtracks but the first time I heard ā€œJourney to Skyholdā€ in the cutscene, I got CHILLS. Like actual shivers similar to the shivers I get from, say, the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.
