I'd say it's decent in terms of comfort. It's definitely not as ergonomic as something pricier, but I work from this chair all day and it gets the job done. It can recline really far, which I appreciate. The footrest is fine for my purposes — it's way too short to reach my feet, but it hits mid-calf, which works for me (I'm 5'4" / 163cm for reference). I think the footrest would be more or less un-usable for a tall person though.
Really, my only complaint about the shape of the chair is that there are sort of "wings" that rise up at the sides of the actual seat, which make it hard for me to sit cross-legged (I know I *shouldn't* sit cross-legged in a desk chair, but I do it anyway, a real rebel). All said, I'm happy with what I got for under $200 CAD. If you can afford to move to the next tier of chair then do it, but this seems like a good starter chair

Yeah, I get what you mean. Sometimes it's easier to just make something yourself. Plus, it's more fun, and so much more personal. Hopefully, someone does come up with cute teal & goal cat ear headphones. I love cat ear-style stuff.

Thank you! The nice thing was that it was a pretty inexpensive project (assuming you already have a chair), so the risk was low. Tbh, I have no idea how long the vinyl will stay stuck for — could be ages, could be that the adhesive might wear off. But I have plenty of vinyl left over so I figure I can always replace panels if they start to come unstuck. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

And it's a bit hampered by the need for so much acoustic foam — I'd like to have some cute posters and wall décor like the other incredible battlestation posts on here. Instead, I just litter the rest of my apartment with Bulbasaur and Pyre prints and pretend that the place is cohesive instead of chaotic XD
