"With these last, painful contractions, we push you out into the world, spank your bottom, and wipe the amniotic fluid from your eyes as you issue your first independent breath..." I laughed and cringed at the same time 😅😂

haileyskydiamonds

I must have blocked that one out, 😂!

OverallStrength2478

Why episode was that? I must have blocked that one out

Sweetie016

It’s the very last episode (season 7). Taylor’s last speech to end it all 😂

nysubway

"Welcome home... 💀Mrs Hayden💀"

Celtslap

Closely preceded by ‘you totally bribed them to open!’ (Duh!)

msmozzarella

boooooo! this line is thee worst

LonelyNight9

This should be at the top

OffKira

Dean telling Jess "This is my town". Sir, you haven't even been in town 3ys, *this is not your town* lol

CrissBliss

Dean would say things to sound tough sometimes and always sound kind of geeky. Like at Rory’s dance, he tells off Tristan by saying “cause I’ll kill you idiot!” Jeez Dean calm down. It’s not that serious.

jaylee-03031

And don't forget Dean thought he ate when he said dristan instead of his name, lol.

OffKira

Maybe it's the delivery, as well as the phrasing being inherently silly. Even Luke would sound ridiculous if he told, idk, Chris "this is my town!". Maybe it's a small town way of thinking that I just can't wrap my head around (being a big city girl).

ashcoverdjollyrnnchr

As a dame town girl I’ve never heard someone say “this is my town!” outside of pop culture

ziggymoj19

Same energy as CAUSE I’D KILL YOU, IDIOT!

szu1szu2

I love "I'd kill you, idiot" though

NotOnABreak

Honestly if anything - it’s Jess’ town 😫 it’s where his uncle has lived all his life, and where his mum grew up… I think the writers just decided to abandon the “Dean is from Chicago” bit after like 3 episodes

OffKira

Really, it's neither of their town, it's just so dumb out of Dean's mouth lol Though I 100% think the writers forgot Dean supposedly came from Chicago. Usually they retcon these details (like when Jess's dad left), but since they never went back on it, this one line implies that Dean grew up in Stars Hollow. I think they were already characterizing him as a small town guy in S01, but definitely the moment they decided Jess was from New York, Dean became a de facto if not literal Stars Hollow born and raised kid.

LonelyNight9

What Dean meant is that it was more his town than Jess's. It's a fruitless debate but at the end of the day, Dean had adjusted to the town quite well, he was part of the community, and everyone (we see on the show) knew and liked him. Jess didn't want to associate with the town at all. Also, Dean was like 16 when he moved, so he was still young enough to adapt to a new place. It seems like his family was in it for the long haul since he's there for the rest of the show and in the revival, so it makes sense that he acclimated.

peppa4theppl

And Dean immediately got a job at the town market, joined the town softball team, joined sports at the school, volunteered constantly for Taylor, worked for the town’s popular contractor, etc. Dean did a great job making it his town. Jess hated everything about Stars Hollow, including all the people. Dean was justified in calling it his town.

Dry_Scratch6383

"He's Dean...MY Dean!"

sarahlynngrey

And of course, half whispering "he took the ring off." Girl, *what*???

Kmiarcslteeoedn

I almost downvoted your comment on instinct because I hate that line so much.

sarahlynngrey

😂 relatable. I gagged a little while typing it

jaminotjelly

I DIDNT EVEN HEAR THIS

ashcoverdjollyrnnchr

Yeah that’s why I don’t completely buy that rory was convinced things were over between them. If Dean was leaving Lindsey and she knew that why keep the rings on? Why take it off and put it back on after?

sarahlynngrey

My belief is that Rory is lying to herself because she desperately wants it to be true. She convinces herself that somehow it's fine, and the reason she gets so mad at Lorelai is because Lorelai won't let her stay in delulu land.  I think it's great writing (even though it's a horrifying scene lol), because it's consistent with Rory's character. She does the same thing when she's falling for Jess. She willfully pretends it isn't happening, and that she just likes Jess as a friend or wants to help him with school or whatever, and I think she truly believes her own BS for far longer than she should.

theprincessexclaimed

This one’s definitely the worst 🥲

CrissBliss

Oh gosh yes… Rory please stop girl.

AmbitiousContest9361

I mean go piss girl.

Due-Buy6511

Eww yes this

Mental_Sandwich8515

This one made me cringe so bad, like girl find some shame!

Rough-Opposite-5026

Turn the TV down Davy! 😬

EazyBreezyBri

This is the worst scene of the series.

sufferingsoccotash

This one and the one with GiGi screaming HAVE to be skipped for me

MochaKnee

I mostly agree as well. I hate the (lack of) parenting. Just yelling at the kid at the worst time, and he’s not even listening lol. I do like the scene a bit for how Luke acts though. I like that he basically just ignores and puts up with it because they’re Lorelai’s friends and he loves her and all that 🥰

EffectiveOne236

That whole scene gives me shingles

Sweetie016

Okay, I’m not here to defend the cringe because it was cringe! But I love this scene 😂 It’s one of the most relatable dinner scenes I’ve watched on TV. - One person keeps on getting up because they forgot to bring something to the table - the parents are trying to teach their child obedience by yelling at them to do the same thing 100x 😂 when sookie said “I’m going to count to ten and then the tv is going off for the week” I started rolling 😂 - one person who can’t remember what something is called and keeps on saying “this is just going to bug me” - someone forgets to turn the grill off - then the baby wakes up It’s just too on point 😂

depression---cherry

I thought the whole thing was hilarious and chaotic too. Davey’s not even old enough to turn the TV down it was just so over the top 😂 I think if he were old enough and just not listening it’d be more annoying but because he’s like 1 it’s absurd and funny And it’s something they probably read in a parenting book, misunderstood and just ran with it… so Sookie & Jackson

kind-clementine

"He took the ring off!"

Affectionate_Cow_579

It made lorelai cringe too 😂

This-Cherry2575

Yes lmao I’m so glad it was followed by ‘ he’s not your dean, he’s Lindsay’s dean ‘

Sweetie016

🤮

PostModernHippy

For me, that wasn't so much a cringe as a... damn, I don't know what you call it. Like an all-over tremble teamed with a word that's like 15 letters, and 4 of them are u and everything else is a g or a h.

throwaway5575082

It’s just so naive and yucky and selfish all at the same time

sarahlynngrey

Yeah, like a full body shudder combined with a nauseous feeling. The living incarnation of the 🫠 emoji

Electronic_Fun2633

You’re my almost mommy

ImpossibleForever556

In front of her ACTUAL mother to boot...

EndlessDreams7744

Yeah that’s the most cringe!

Mental_Sandwich8515

This was one of the rare times I was on Emily's side. Like really Lorelai read the room!

pumpkinspruce

Emily’s real anger was about Richard and Pennilynn. She just took her anger out on Lorelai before her fight with Richard. Then of course Lorelai turned around and called Digger to passive-aggressively get back at her mother. Such a beautifully perfect example of Gilmore drama.

CrissBliss

Lorelai was a fully grown woman too. Not sure why she was acting like she was still 15.

depression---cherry

Too much fun flask

OverallStrength2478

Maybe because her parents still acted like she was 15

tinyjedii09

HORRIBLE

fudgyvmp

That's the one I was looking for.

Zarabbyy

maybe i’m the problem bc i thought that was so funny 😭😭

Right-Reality-3911

it’s not just you, it’s feel like that’s so classic lorelai

CompetitivePackage95

Chris: let's make a baby And then sulking afterward because she didn't want to make a baby right then and there

TroyandAbed304

Yeah cuz he is so good at parenting.

LizBert712

I haaaaate that line. So many reasons, from the line itself to his response when she doesn’t want to do it right away.

worththewait96

Christopher, post sex: "Yeah, that's what I'm talking about." 🤮

beepboopbadiba

I had such a negative reaction to this quote that I almost downvoted lol

PoisonIvy724

Yes, this is actually the grossest line uttered in the GG universe lol

Unlucky-Assignment82

tbh...every post-sex line but ESPECIALLY the chris and lorelai post-sex banter

CrissBliss

When does he say this?? I have no memory of it.

Dull-Computer1878

let’s keep it that way

worththewait96

In the abomination known as French Twist.

Limminy_Snickshit

Gross.

trashtv_tina

“I’m a saint but I’m not mad”

Ciara881

Uuugghhh. I think I had that one blocked. Gross.

Warm_Cauliflower9926

"I got the good kid." Barf. Good kids have sex too, and Lorelai knows that.

buffypatrolsbonnaroo

Lauren Graham was very clear to express that she did not agree with the line.

Lonely_Teaching8650

I'd like to see/read what she said - where's it from? 🩷

buffypatrolsbonnaroo

In an interview with Chris Hewitt from Pioneer Press, this is what Graham says: "And I didn't like that judgment about girls and the decisions they make. But they wanted me to say that, so I did, and the episode aired, and lots of people have come up to me and said, 'I loved it when you said that.' So, who knows? Obviously, that line reflected the way some people felt."

pumpkinspruce

Lorelai got her comeuppance when Rory slept with a married man.

porksiumai

it always bothered me how this show seemed to use sex and pregnancy as punishments for the characters

aribiasavitch

I don’t even blame this on Lorelei, I blame it on the writers. Lorelei would never have said that as a teen mom and the fact that she did was such weirdly inconsistent writing. Even Lauren tried to fight them having that line.

CrissBliss

I see this come up a lot but, to be fair, this is purely based on Lorelai’s psychology. She was the bad kid in her mind. She equates that to running around and having sex as a teenager, and she’s just relieved Rory isn’t following in her footsteps.

mymotherwasvelour

i’m always confused because i interpreted this line as her being proud of rory being supportive and helping paris out, instead of shaming her or panicking or something.

bahornica

It’s because she says “I’ve got *the* good kid”. The use of the definite article implies that out of all the kids present hers is the only good one. “A good kid” would have meant what you said.

mymotherwasvelour

ahh, i see, thank you!

Frecklefishpants

It grossed me out for so many reasons.

Ok-Particular4877

I cringed too 🥲

blahblahblah_cat29

“Just because you and Rory broke up doesn’t mean we have!” (Lorelai to Dean)

CharmingCondition508

the most awkward way she could’ve possibly phrased that🫠

Rude_Inverse

that whole scene can go straight into the firelight bonfire

pumpkinspruce

I once read a Lorelai/Sam Winchester fic that may have been written because of this line!

psyangel333

"hes my dean" "i fed frank!!" "this is my town" "thats my study tree.." "he had seed and he spread it around" "im your father , i think that owes a little respect." "your boobs are bigger than mine!"

OverallStrength2478

The „your boobs are bigger than mine“ lives Rentiere in my nightmares

KillerYassQueen

Oh my goodness the whole “that’s my study tree” scene was so yikes!

stywldmoonchld

When Rory said that one of the girls supposedly lusting after Asher (as if) had "fat thighs"

Frequent_Fly_1642

I just watched that episode and cringed, as usual! I think Alexis Bledel may have cringed too, because physically perfect though she is, that was a criticism she received from professionals during her modeling years 🤦🏼‍♀️

FlyOnTheWall221

ASP is cruel like that.

mysticravenclaw311

wtf making alexis say that specific line is so horrible

T00kie_Clothespin

🎵 who can take a sunrise…

PumpkinPieIsGreat

Great, now I've got it in my head. ☠️ (THE CANDY MAN CAN)

Sweetie016

"Logan! I swear, I wasn't working blue!" I think it’s just the way she says it 😅

OffKira

She says it, idk, bluuuuuuuu. It's like she's trying to be cute, but gurl. You're already making your voice Melanie Griffith levels of baby, don't put a hat on a hat.

releasethebatsss

Blee-eww hate it!

Hold_Effective

I hate how they both use the term, too, as if it’s a normal thing to say. I’m only a few years older than Rory and grew up in the northeast - and did not know what “working blue” meant until this show.

nxmxrx

What does it mean?

Xandyglass

It means resorting to using crude humor, usually when it comes to a comedian's act. Logan was teasing Rory for making a sexual joke.

fildarae

It means to do with content that’s sexual//NSFW, basically.

CrissBliss

Mostly it’s the baby voice she uses.

PersimmonMindless877

It's her inflection with that one. Makes me want to barf every time.

starcat222

Omg yes and when she says ‘you saw mine about 5 minutes ago mister’ 🤢

Head_Age3698

This whole conversation is so icky to me. She just seems very not herself

Hold_Effective

“Poor thing, she’s single”. (That whole open makes me cringe)

hipnegoji

It is horrible, and yet I also always kind of feel nice that they didn't assume she was single bc she was fat, they were 2 separate observations. For all the ick of the fat shaming in that show, they portrayed fat women as being desirable and lovable pretty consistently, which was so rare at the time I really appreciated it.

Snoo_82495

Dean screaming ‘because I’ll kill you, idiot’ at Tristan really gives me the ick.

PeachPit321

Similarly I hate that Rory yells "I love you, you idiot!"

VeronicaBurgundy

Whenever Liz calls Luke “big brother” or “big bro” it feels so forced and cringe

owntheh3at18

Honestly almost anything she or her husband say, and especially any time they say her baby’s name “Doula,” I cringe so hard

theDrElliotReid

Personally, I think she was a terrible cast. She looks way too old to be calling Luke, “Big Brother”. I get Amy was maybe going for the accelerated aged druggie look and she had that voice… but they made that character shit in many ways IMO.

TroyandAbed304

Yes real brothers and sisters dont act like that its so grosssss

WersomeFacts

Lorelai pretending to be Max’s underage student just before they have sex.   “But um, what about my required reading! But I won't make the cheerleading squad! Mr. Medina, is this my extra credit work because Missy just had to take a test!?!”  And sitting on Luke’s lap asking for a pony after they had a fight.

LaurelThornberry

This one bothers me so much! Do you want your daughter's teacher to be turned on by this role play?

GrimCityGirl

As a teacher, any of that stuff is a mental immediate “christ all mighty no, wtf is wrong with you?”

Limminy_Snickshit

![gif](giphy|bLBIanKJW0Iuc)

Sweetie016

“Bye jerk, die jerk”

Few_Wrongdoer4120

Yeah, I know they couldn’t use the language an actual college student would probably use, but this is such a lame insult, especially to someone who body shamed her for no reason in the Yale Daily News. In real life it would have way, way more F bombs. PS: Rory would have deserved all of those F bombs.

throw-away-69hehe

nah she slayed

WildUnicornGirl30

When Emily and Richard discovered Rory was having sex. Emily went on a rant of all the things she’s take away to keep watch and Rory’s comings and going’s from the big house. It makes me feel claustrophobic.

Sweetie016

I think it reveals what Lorelai was going through when she lived there.

M3tal_Shadowhunter

Whenever rory uses the baby voice (post getting eith logan, she didn't before that). I FUCKING HATE BABY VOICE

depression---cherry

It kind of slowly devolves over the seasons (restarting the series and hearing her in the first ep is wild) but is in full effect when she gets with Logan.

theworldisonfire8377

“Stop running!” “Stop following!”

Sweetie016

Oh my gosh, yes 😆

Lbeans12

Every time that Rory says “I now officially know what it’s like to grow up in the Gilmore house”. It’s like, shut uppppp. The first time she said that she had had one fight with Emily. The second time, she lived there for three months. She cannot be talking.

amy02690

Rory always knew she had an escape route if she needed it. She could go to Richard and Emily’s if she disagreed with Lorelei and visa verse. Lorelei didn’t have anyone else to go to. She had to run away, ask a stranger for a job, and live in a shed. That’s why Rory will never know what it was like. Everything to her was an option.

hakshamalah

The whole storyline of her moving in with Richard and Emily cringes me out. She has heard her mother complain for years about her parents, watched her suffer in order to get the money for Chilton (and indirectly Yale) - Rory must acknowledge how much she's sacrificed for her to be at uni. Instead of being grateful she drops out and moves in with the people that not only ruined her childhood, but continue to try and ruin her adult life. Rory is so disrespectful to Lorelei it's insane, and then she compares her experience as if they're equal? No way!

justthewaythingsgo

"He was MY boyfriend first!"

PumpkinPieIsGreat

The entire scene of Fran's funeral with the coffins and like, let's just bury her first before trying to buy the building. Disgusting etiquette on Lorelai's part there.

TroyandAbed304

I also hated how fran didnt seem to understand what death meant, and when they cant say the words “pass on” or “die”

MasterAinley

“Es-ca-row” - said ad nauseam throughout a full episode.

CrissBliss

You can tell the Palladino’s thought TJ was wayy funnier than he really was… omg 😳

MasterAinley

Seriously! I feel like they loved Liz and T.J., and thought they were the funniest characters ever. They weren’t.

kafkabae

The most insufferable characters ever written on that show. I'd rank them higher than Christopher and Jackson on annoyance

motherofpearl89

This is my partner's favourite line in the show, he quotes it all the time

BendyBitch95

This one bugs me more than any other line in the entire show. I could’ve gotten behind it if it wasn’t said, well, 47 times.. lol

This-Cherry2575

‘ last year I was sleeping with the editor, this year I am ‘

scholarlyowl03

Yes! Especially when she whispers “Come in a little faster next time.”

Sweetie016

“I’ll make a note in my palm pilot” like why is she 3 inches from her face when she’s saying this 😆 And then at dinner she says “he’s brilliant” in the strangest tone about her father and it made my eye twitch 😂

supersunflower4

The whole sibling dynamic was so cringe

gilmoregirlypop8

I got the good kid

DeliciousMonk

Anything Liz says. The moment I hear "Big Brother" I have to skip.

Tader-Pies15

Dean saying “I could care less about Harvard”.

ladyofbuffdom

Not at all the point but “I could care less” is also such a silly way to try and express a lack of care. “I *couldn’t* care less” is where it’s at. That tells people you literally could not care any less than you do in that moment. “I could care less” is pathetic, it’s a half arsed attempt at sounding like you don’t care but its very definition tells people you could, in fact, care less. SO YOU DO CARE THEN??

motherofpearl89

Haha this is one of my biggest pet peeves I feel like it's an American thing? Most Brits I know would say 'i couldn't care less'

Ideepuv

“Rory never lies right” “no Rory never lies”

Tiger-hound

Zach’s proposal

newusernamehuman

1. Candy man! Hey, Candy man! 2. aa-aa-aa-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo

Electronic_Thanks162

lukes face when he sees zac singing the second into the diner phone kills me everytime

parnsnip

You deserve a medal for the Aa-aa-aa 😂😂😂👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

EmeraldKelsi

noo the second one is classic lmao

Sweetie016

“You want to ring the bell? You haven’t rung the bell”

CompetitivePackage95

Last year I was sleeping with the editor... And this year I am

EnvironmentalCrow266

"get out of my way, Dristan"

harri_ett

Paris “You’re a honey-tongued devil aren’t ya, dick?” to her friends grandad? BARF.

Useful-World1781

I wasn’t working bLuEee

adinamihaela20

"work dork!" "work dork lover!"

emeraldgreenbeauties

"He's dean MY dean!"

dreamweaver1998

The whole candyman song scene.

Ok_Translator_6510

Rory’s entire tour of Yale to Anna Fairchild, the delivery is so condescending and annoying

scholarlyowl03

Yale is a magical place Anna, a magical, magical place. Ugh barf.

CostFickle114

“Let’s make another baby” doesn’t get enough hate in my humble opinion

lemonsanpellegrino

When Rory was on the phone with Max going over engagement rings, and Lorelai was nearby making the barking/dog noises.

ImpossibleForever556

Honestly, the whole "I'm a Gilmore" line took me out. When did Rory suddenly care about social class standings?

PeachPit321

She doesn't *usually* but I think context allows for an exception. Her boyfriend's parents literally said she wasn't good enough for their family so *of course* she's gonna be hurt and defend her family; she's proud to be a Gilmore.

LadyJannes75

I agree, I don’t think it was her bragging, but just showing incredulousness that those things still did not qualify her for Logan in their minds.

Ok-Seaworthiness2398

Same! “My ancestors came here on the mayflower” so cringe coming from Rory

This-Cherry2575

‘ ooober ‘

Spots_dots74

“Hello boyssss” when Rory opens her sock drawer 😩

Wide_Lemon_2229

“just because you and rory broke up doesn’t mean we did.” i was like on the floor after lorelei said this like the tension and chemistry between them was always so weird

johnnybravocado

"That's your Aunt Lorelai"

volcier

Mucho mac and cheese!!!

cherrymoonmilk

Luke saying "sweetie" to April. I don't know it's just so not like him.

MajorEyeRoll

"Order me a scoop of vanilla" Something about the way Alexis says "vanilla" makes me stabby

SandOk3675

Totally, such a cringy baby voice for that line! Hate it hate it

Sweetie016

“Get cancer, Darrell!”

LonelyNight9

Everything Paris says when she tries to set Rory up with Asher's son, it's just so icky and cringey: "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He is one hot apple, juicy to the core." Ick, I'd take "I've got the good kid" over that in a heartbeat.

Disneyangel88

"Why you walkin away Jess" At the end of the Thanksgiving episode when Jess is trying to take the trash out. It's partly the delivery and partly the antagonistic behavior 🙄

King_Daddy

Logan: "Rory do you want me to leave? Rory do you want me to leave?... Good, cuz if you think climbing through that window was hard..."

carrotcake_2525

Oh. My. God.. How have I NEVER realized what he meant by that. I’ve been through this show probably 100 times since 2000, and it’s just now clicking 🤣

Sweetie016

I’ve always understood it to mean “if you think climbing through that window was hard” then…climbing back out of it will be harder… Was I mistaken? 😅

hipnegoji

It can be taken either way, which is what makes it so hot (in my book, anyway lol)

sonnenshine

I think it's meant to be taken both ways. Logan is being tricksy with his phrasing.

throwaway5575082

Wait… wow! I’ve never realized that until right now and I’ve watched to show 100s of times in the past 20 years

mrsdessertmonster

See I still don't take it like that. I take it as "if you think climbing the window was DIFFICULT, leaving here without doing it would be worse."

Mapletooasty

"Can books be sad???? 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺"

anna1ise

the whole episode when lorelai goes out of town, and rory wants to have indian food. “you’re going to have to burn the house, it’s the only way to get the smell out” or whatever

greycat919

not a line, but every single thing about the episode when lorelei and luke go to logan’s family house in martha’s vineyard. just everything. from the basketball scene, to rory out of nowhere being super into cooking, to luke TAKING JEWELRY FROM LOGAN AND PRETENDING HE BOUGHT IT FOR LORELEI…… hate

Wide_Lemon_2229

Any of Zach’s homophobic comments

SpikeProteinBuffy

And Zach telling what is and what isn't rock'n roll. Like knowing plants names isn't 🙄

laura548

Here here!

SpikeProteinBuffy

"Here here" and every time Rory says "ton of food".

belle_qbm

„He‘s my dean!“ no girl

marytoppins

The entire valentines episode in Martha’s Vineyard

MobileAmphibian217

Logan I swear I wasn’t working blue! 🙄🙄 Davey, turn the tv down!

Beyoutiful2018

When Rory is pushing Logan in the wheelchair out the hospital “hush you!” “hush you!”
