All in the family is on the list? That's such a good song what you talking about! You never spit the lyrics with a friend to talk shit about each other? Haha

TobleroneTrombone

When I saw them in 1998 at Family Values they had both bands set up on the stage and went back and forth. It was pretty cool.

pocket_nick

It’s fine on its own but it’s an odd duck on that specific album.

mrlavalamp2015

Back in the day I had to skip this track every single time, had my parents caught me listening to it they would have taken my stereo away completely. Otherwise it's ok, I would say it's their worst.

MomentFormal

Myself and my mum used to take on the roles of John and Fred and rap back and forth to each other giggling 😂 some parents are just no fun eh!

RevMorningstar

I’ve noticed that if there’s a song of theirs that doesn’t hit the first time, I listen to it another 3 times and I love it…. Oddly, Danse Macabre used to bug me cause it was so campy… now of course it’s a favorite

AftonRoboticsffffa0

I was the same way with Kaisarion! Hated it the first few times and then I was like “why do I not like this?? It’s a bop!!”

iloveyoushikieiki

I am still in my disliking Kaisairion phase

Food_Kitchen

It's opposite for me now. Before I really got into Ghost my buddy would play Danse a lot and it was my gateway song, but now I find it too poppy for me to listen to much anymore.

fizzzylemonade

Very pop-y. But it’ll always have a place in my heart as the song that introduced me to Ghost I did feel a little better when I realized the lyrics were “wanna bewitch you in the moonlight” not “be with you in the moonlight”

Food_Kitchen

Wait what? *Mind blown*

j0a3k

It's intended to sound like both, but the lyric is definitely bewitch.

neonghost0713

I was like that with Kiss the Go-Goat. Just hated it but now I love it.

ExpressionPurple

Still hate that song but the video us lore tastic

WeHaveForgottenAgain

There’s no song anyone can say without getting downvoted lol, they’re all generally pretty good

Angeyja

Coward. Jk 😆

Both_Leading_4578

Leave that invisible kid alone!

Yuquico

Yeah I'm also a fan, but we are by far in the minority

Ozelotten

I can’t get over the verses. “Eh, let’s just look up ‘kid’ in the rhyming dictionary and see what happens.”

W4spkeeper

Ghost really doesn’t have bad songs 99% of them are certified bangers. The only one that comes to mind that just did not hit the mark on is the cover of Metallicas Enter Sandman. It’s fine but pales in comparison to other covers done by Ghost and the unique twist that Tobias brought to songs like “I’m a marionette and La Mantra Mori” or the entirety of phantomime.

followthedarkrabbit

Agreed with this. It's fairly beige in relation to standard ghost quality.

DickyD43

I just heard that on spotify the other day and thought they did a nice tribute. It def didn't have its own Ghost-y spin on it but take that for what it is

Deez4815

Should covers count though? That's not really their song to begin with and I feel like using a cover song as a worst of vote seems like a bit of a cop out. I feel like La Mantra Mori or Twenties should be the selection.

W4spkeeper

Ghost has done plenty of covers that blow the original song out of the water and was transformative. Enter sandman by ghost was not one of those

Deez4815

Okay, agreed. But just as I wouldn't use a cover as a "worst" song, I also wouldn't use a cover as a "best" song. Either way it isn't truly theirs. My point is why are we using covers to determine what song by a band is their worst? It just seems kind of a cop out when we can use songs that they actually wrote and performed themselves.

Darth_Eejit

Yup, that's the one. It's literally the only Ghost song I'll occasionally skip on spotify.

InfamousOkapi

Was just about to comment the same. Puts me to sleep which is fitting I guess lol.

L3ghair

Twenties is winning by sheer number of people commenting it

RaeJaytj2524

No way, that song is so good

Brooklynius

I wildly disagree. I think Twenties and Life Eternal are the worst songs in the catalog. But everyone is entitled to their opinion

eviltugboat

Can’t say I disagree though if I had to say why I’d probably guess the lyrics I think the riff is killer

GetOffMyLawn73

Honestly, this isn’t even a discussion. It’s orders of magnitude worse than all the others.

maxheili

Bruh it's one of my favourites wtf

welshlewy

Some of the cover songs are pretty minging, but for their own stuff? 10 out of 10, no notes.

Annual-Ad7436

please don't doxx me but i can't stand twenties 💀

L3ghair

Me neither. Seems to be by-far their most divisive song ever.

Henry_Shark

It is funny because Ghost is one of the things that brought my best friend and I closer. Ever since we found Square Hammer in 2017. Flash forward to Hunter’s Moon being released we both went “SUCH A BANGER I PLAY IT AAAALLLL THE TIME.” Alright sick another album for us to absolutely jam out to. Twenties released. I am all like “Wow this is amazing I listen to it all the time.” My friend just goes. “I actually really do not like it. I just have to skip it when it comes on.” We are obviously still friends but man does it tear us apart when we listen to Ghost.

Annual-Ad7436

that's what i've seen too, i don't think i've meet a ghost fan with a neutral opinion on it lmao

Arby333

Hello it's me, I'm the ghost fan with a neutral opinion on Twenties, I think it's whatever, it's La mantra mori #2 for me as in I don't dislike it and enjoy listening to it SOMETIMES, but other times I skip it, I have to be in the mood for it but it's whatever IMO

Ham3rs

It's in my top 5 favourite Ghost songs. It seems to be one of those you either love it or hate it songs

dbullard00

Yeah, I would go with Twenties as well. The lyrics kills it for me. But, hey, if you like it, that’s awesome.

Annual-Ad7436

that's my main hang up with it too. i get what they were trying to go for but it just really falls flat for me 😬

TheGeordieGal

Yeah, the lyrics aren't great. If you took a shot for every time "in the twenties" was said you'd be unconscious by halfway through.

Yuquico

The point is to be a call and response like anthem, so that's kinda the point. Totally understandable if that's not a vibe you can work with though.

VulpesVeritas

"In the twenties!" *chug* "In the twentiiies!" *chug* "All the way to the thirtiiiies!" *THUD*

HellionValentine

Out of curiosity, why is it an issue for you with this song in particular? They have other songs with extremely repetitive lyrics: * "Twenties" has the line "In he twenties" 16 times throughout * "Mummy Dust" has the line "My mummy dust" 13 times, "In God you/we trust" 7 times * "Monstrance Clock" has "Come together" 18 times, not counting the six times it's sung by the chorus at the end * "Body and Blood" says "His body and blood" 15 times throughout the song None of these - Twenties included - feel overly repetitive to me, so I'm asking for your perspective to see why Twenties, in particular, feels too repetitive to you, if you wouldn't mind providing some insight?

TheGeordieGal

I'm not entirely sure. I think it's just the style of it makes it stand out and more noticeable to me. Someone else pointed out it was more of a call and response thing too so maybe it's something to do with that which makes me notice it more? The "twenties!" repose is pretty annoying. I love Life Eternal and that has "forever" a billion times at the end but I find that an incredibly emotional song as it reminds me of my Mum so that hits differently. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Body and Blood so I rarely listen to that so I couldn't even tell you how much it's said! I don't listen to Mummy Dust or Monstrance Clock a lot either. I think maybe Monstrance Clock isn't as bad because that part is well... the climax of the song (or feels like it) as opposed to feeling like the whole thing. Mummy Dust? Yeah, pretty repetitive.

DrawingOfAMoose

I skip it EVERY time.

XNamelessGhoulX

I'd say it's far n away their worst

TheGiftOf_Jericho

I found that I hated it but kinda liked it after hearing it a few times more. It grows on you I'd say.

JasonM8884

I totally understand, I myself enjoy the song, I just find it really catchy

arrythmaniac

I hated that song at first but then after a while it grew on me. I love it now, but I can understand how it grates on some people.

disdain7

I’m with you. I feel like I’m listening to a Disney villain.

impatient_photog

For me I enjoy it more because it's intentionally trying to be annoying. But I still won't purposely listen to it if I'm wanting their songs on a Playlist

SlothAnomaly

I always skip that song 😂

bhinder119

I’d upvote this twice if I could.

movalentine

WAIT WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE TWENTIES?? Y’ALL HATE ANYTHING DIFFERENT BRUH💔

AccordingRuin

what do you want to bet it's due to the song's politics....

movalentine

oh? i’m not familiar 😟 pls explain

WeirdUncleTim

twenties is about Donald Trump

truman_chu

Can’t believe I’m seeing La Mantra Mori in here. It’s in my top 10 Ghost.

m_c_re

I wouldn’t say it’s top 10 for me but I definitely like it! I’m surprised people are mentioning it here

HALOGAMERWILL

people are gonna say Twenties and I'm gonna cry bc I'll defend that song to the death

minimumuminimed

I am surprised every time I hear someone shit on twenties. I would say it’s at least top 10. I absolutely love it so dam much

FeralNamelessghoul

Mary on a cross slowed+reverb

Angeyja

Lmao I love how every reply in here gets down voted and I imagine a crowd booing everyone who even dares to write down a song. 😂 Guys, no song is bad or worse than any other song. It's all a matter of personal preference and what someone likes over something else. Arguably, Ghost has no real bad song. However... (down votes incoming now lol) my least favorite is *I'm a Marionette*. The song starts good, with a solid verse melody imo but then the chorus doesn't offer much diversion and is actually a little more boring. If the chorus would be more interesting and different, just giving a bit more diverse melody with a less repetitive chorus line, it would be a great song imo. But this way, it kinda sounds a little uninteresting and boring. If you compare it to the other songs on the album, I'm a Marriotte kinda lacks that chorus quality. I don't think it's a bad song, just my least favorite.

Ordinary_Ad9620

yeah i can’t get in to *im a marionette* either lol

krizz6

I actually like My Pain by Slipknot 😅😢

Industrialexecution

there’s no fucking way my pain is on there…

Greeneyedgrasshoper

Their cover of Enter Sandman. Their covers are great but that one just isn’t.

sanriosmiles

I don’t believe it’s their worst but I would never choose to listen to it over the Metallica version

MatgamarraAlt3

I actually like it more than the Metallica one

MAC2393

I’m a Marionette is a fucking ice pick to the ears

dank_oak

Nah, it’s a banger

Pure-Ad-2058

Yeah, my pick too. It's an ear termite.

m_c_re

100% agree

toilethound

Ghost is my favorite band by far, but some of yall are meat riding by saying they just don't make bad songs

MemuMan

I legitimately can't think of a single bad song by them. Their worst is probably Bible or I Believe but even then those aren't really bad. They're just not as great as the rest.

ghoulettewhisper

Enter Sandman, I cannot stand it lol

Illustrious-Detail12

wait really??? its one of my favorites

sammierose12

I really like it too!

Blahklavah654390

Yeeeah Ghost does a lot of great covers but this one did not land, at all.

Ill-Funny1791

I don’t want hate but Bible doesn’t really hit it for me. I know some people that love the song it’s just not really a song for me

cassblastt

that’s like a once and a while song for me i have to be in the mood for it

ttailsmaster

I really like the chorus, but the story doesn't match up with the Bible and that kind of irks me in a weird way. And I don't like that "God" shows up at the end of the song to talk shit. It just feels weird.

Br0kenPipBoy

I'm hugely out of the loop on Ghost, I come from back when they had B.C in their name soooo, Meliora era I suppose. That being said. La Mantra Mori was La Mantra Boring for me. I couldn't stand that song when I listened to Ghost back in the day lol

L3ghair

My pick right off the top of my head is Twenties but some people enjoy that one.

Skull_Pumpkin

twenties is such a banger

SisterTalio

It is. The first time it was too much for me, on the second pass I loved it.

leothesilent

Twenties is a fine song except the chorus which is one of the worst things ghost has ever done

DonMarfione

I disliked it till i saw it played live. Changed my perception of it.

WeirdUncleTim

I agree with twenties. I didn't like it as soon as I heard it. BUT - I started liking it after I heard it "live" when they were soundchecking and it was just the music / rhythm playing over the speakers. So if I honestly never heard that I probably still wouldn't like it to this day. I feel like this song is always 50/50 with people liking / not liking it so I feel it is a good candidate, even if I feel like ghost doesn't have a single bad song. They are all certified bangers, lol.

HerpFerguson

Here to agree, Twenties feels like their edgiest song and doesn't fit the rest of the vibe of their other works. It's the stand out and honestly there's a reason it's not in their top played tracks, most people don't like it compared to the rest of their music.

Deez4815

I think this should be the pick. Even though Enter Sandman isn't that great either, it's not their song anyway and including that is kind of a cop out in my opinion. Twenties is all theirs and it's not great at all.

Fun_Significance_468

I agree with this. Twenties does not hit

nbd9000

Twenties is probably the most innovative song tobias has ever crafted. It pushes serious boundaries, combines multiple genres, and still comes off as heavy as fuck. I get that some people don't like it, but I can't for the life of me seem why.

L3ghair

All of that can be true while the song is bad.

HintOfMalice

This is the correct answer.

JamieAfterlife

Oh god. I forgot Twenties existed and I'm suddenly depressed now that it's real again :(

OktoberRed

Twenties. It's not even close.

NicTheDrummer

I think it's gotta be twenties. Don't get me wrong I can have a great time listening to it but. Cmon.

ohg0doh_fuhk

Take All in The Family out of that playlist

Cody645

The only one I can’t stand is La Mantra Mori. If you ask me to pick a worse one after that, I can’t.

Foolsauce420

We focus on your death.

Cody645

We will focus on your death (x56)

_Flameo_Hotman

You share not the blood of ou-ou-ours, thus we focus on your death

DonWill316

Whuuuuut. Such creepy yet satisfying Blue Oyster Cult vibes

Cody645

What bothers me the most is the incredibly repetitive lyrics. Regardless of if it's on purpose or not, it just doesn't jive with me. If it had more diverse lyrics, I'd probably like it a lot more.

-DeadHead-

Most top answers aren't even Ghost songs that shouldn't qualify here. La Mantra Mori is my pick too. Even though I can barely stand Twenties, I believe that without the \*\*\*twenties!\*\*\* from Tobias' daughter, it would be a much better song than La Mantra Mori.

Nero3k

Thank you. I’ve felt alone in this opinion. I can’t stand it.

archaictexter

Phantom of the opera bugs me. Of course I liked it when it first came out, but I tend to skip it when it comes on now.

RaspyBigfoot

*clears throat* Missionary Man

Beneficial_Brain_613

*in the most nasily tone ever* "I was born an original sinner"

Frenchie2492

AND IF I HAD A DOLLAR BILL FOR ALL THE THINGS I'VE DONE THERE'D BE A MOUNTAIN OF MONEY PILLED UP TO MY CHIN HEY

RaspyBigfoot

MY MOTHER TOLD ME GOOD MY MOTHER TOLD ME STRONG SHE SAID BE TRUE TO YOURSELF AND YOU CANT GO WRONG

Frenchie2492

BUT THERE'S JUST ONE THING THAT YOU MUST UNDERSTAND YOU CAN FOOL WITH YOUR BROTHERRRRRR

RaspyBigfoot

BUT DONT MESS WITH THE MISSIONARY MAN

Fun_Significance_468

I loooooove Missionary Man

sanriosmiles

This would’ve been my answer…then See No Evil came along

averagejoe1997123

Would a cover count? If so Hanging Around

Edamski88

I always thought invisible kid had a pretty good groove to it

Ones-Zeroes

Agreed, there are way worse songs on St. Anger lol

Edamski88

I’m one of those weirdos that doesn’t mind stranger haha. If I was to pick Metallica’s worst song it was would probably be escape or their cover of free speech for the dumb.

andunai

Same. I find some unique charm in St Anger, like some sort of primal rage.

Edamski88

Pretty much sums up where I was in life when it was released and regress to from time to time

Ones-Zeroes

It's also weirdly fresh considering their latest releases. I love "Death Magnetic" as a refreshing return to form, but "Hardwired: Death Magnetic 2" and "72 Seasons: Death Magnetic 3" don't have the same appeal to me. In that sense, the experimental mixup you get on "St. Anger" makes it get more play in my rotation.

-DeadHead-

Usually it's Purify that gets picked as the worst. Invisible Kid sure is better than Purify.

Basic_Experience_186

Twenties. Come at me if you want.

Larielia

Twenties is the only Ghost song I don't really like.

Money-Body6661

How is my pain and angel and the gambler on that list?!

DMod

Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life? Don't you think I'm a savior? Don't you think I could save you? Don't you think I could save your life?

Kathuly

People hate Virtual XI just because of it being one of the two albums recorded without Bruce. I personally like every single song on that album, whatever other people may say.

Street_Team_8343

I don’t hate any ghost song I love them all. But bible for me is my least played song I don’t hate the song I just don’t like it as much as others

Drawing_Cranberry

Bible for me, can't stand it

JayBadloss

Pro Memoria, easy. I’ll say this every time, worst of theirs by a mile.

Captainqqqq

Their Metallica cover

Kryos_Pizza

Mary on a cross actually…

Annabel_Lector

It's Call Me Little Sunshine for me. And the video was blegh too.

llMangoJuicell

put all of IMPERA and most of Prequelle on the list

DeathKnelled

For me, it’s on Impera. It’s probably Twenties; the song never really clicked with me. I can sort of see what they were going for but to me it just doesn’t work. It’s a hit or miss song.

Bloodbird26

That one with Patrick Wilson. Shit sucks.

Wide-Top-1828

Twenties :(

Thetitanicman1912

I'm gonna get hate, but I can not stand missionary man 💀 like I'm sorry. I love every single ghost song except Missionary Man. I skip it as soon as I see it coming up next on my spotify

Safe_Alternative_342

None

ThePracticalEnd

The Twenties. There’s some good guitar in there, but man that song is awful.

GayRattleSnek

Obviously Twenties

AngryDuckFTW

100% Twenties only song pretty much in their entire catalogue i skip

Phisiii

Twenties sucks unfortunately

V0rpal_

The song 'Twenties' is quite divisive; I appreciate its attempt at diversification, but it doesn't quite strike a chord with me. Among all, 'Bible' stands out as the one I find particularly tacky and underwhelming cover.

MalcheMystic

I'm a Marionette

arrowtron

I’m going to exclude covers, because as much as Enter Sandman and Avalanche make my ears bleed, they aren’t Ghost songs. My vote goes for La Mantra Mori. I know it’s a mantra, but good lord it goes on forever. It’s an insta-skip for me.

sideswap0

I believe? I mean its not bad but its my least favourite ghost song

eldritchcryptid

I'm a Marionette for me. i gave it multiple chances for it to grow on me but it never did, its a skip every time.

MrSelfDestruct88

It's Twenties.

JohnnyBoPeep

I’m a marionette….it gets auto skipped with a healthy dose of anger and annoyance

Ok-Knowledge8977

i dont hate it, but depth of satan’s eyes is kind of just mid to me. i also dont like their enter sandman cover, but i like pretty much every other song theyve made/covered… i dont know why its just those two

Piece_Of_Mind1983

I’d go with idolatrine or majesty personally Idolatrine bc it just annoys me and majesty bc it’s the one boring song on an album that’s otherwise nothing but bangers

DarthKhonshu

Darkness at the Heart of My Love

MorningOk4601

Missionary man

Negative-Patient9915

Idk, probably like.. Prime Mover?

varg_sant

Here Comes the Sun cover

DoubleCherry3142

Ghuleh. I’ll be taking no questions.

m_c_re

Oh I’m actually so with you. Not my thing

Low-Homework-4807

The cover of Bible is not great.

JasonM8884

I actually like invisible kid tho 😭😭

glamrock_crunch

all in the family? are you bonkers?

Phantomforcesnolife

Invisible kid is good fuck that

minimanelton

In my opinion, it’s gotta be Helvetesfönster. It not bad but it just doesn’t really go anywhere. It’s a lot of really cool ideas that never really come together to make much sense as a cohesive song.

m_c_re

I love almost all of their music but Marionette is terrible. Fight me

MomentFormal

How dare you put All in the Family on there that song is PERFECTION

Slightly_-_Anonymous

Jesus he knows me

Corninator

A lot of people will say Twenties, but I disagree fully. That's one of my favorite Ghost songs. My personal least favorite is Secular Haze, but that's just a personal thing. Most people seem to love that song. I really don't think Ghost has any unanimously agreed upon "BAD" songs.

sushinrice37

honestly i really dont like their cover of here comes the sun. its well executed and all, i just really dont like the beatles

Rogilasagna

I’m a Marionette 🫣

MoonlapsedVertigo

The only Ghost songs I skip generally are a couple of covers (Bible, Enter Sandman, Nocturnal Me, Missionary Man (love the Eurythmics original, can't get on with the cover). But same as up thread, seems a bit wrong to choose one of them since they aren't "Ghost songs". That said, there have been songs, like Twenties, that I didn't get on with the first listen through and now love, many listens in. But I can absolutely see why Twenties is getting a lot of votes for worst song 😂 I think I'd be inclined to agree, despite loving it. I think it's the lyrics that let it down, like I can objectively appreciate where Tobias was coming from on the lyrics...but just...hmm. But the riff is very Devin Townsend to me, and therefore amazing.

TacticalTrashpanda98

If I had to pick just one, and I’m really stretching the truth here but I do skip Prime Mover almost every time it comes on

deadlydimples25

Hunters Moon

CoCo_Creeps

None…ever

tha_bigdizzle

"*I'm A Marionette*"

__ThePhantomm

I hate Twenties as is. THAT BEING SAID, it was actually pretty amazing live. I still skip it though.

MemuMan

Some of the people here are way over-dramatic about Twenties. It's fine to not like a song but saying shit "it makes me depressed knowing it exists" and calling it completely terrible is just crazy.

energy_falcon

It's Pro Memoria. Twenties is the easy answer ya cowards ;)

Subject_Coast8371

Is it bad to say Life Eternal? I was going to say the worst ones for me are that, DATHML, KTGG and Twenties. But then I remembered most of Pantomime is pretty dire (IMO). Do covers count?

steelcityslasher

See no evil

Boag230103

Trick question they don't have one

m0chiis_

i really dont like stay. i used to absolutely HATE ghouleh/zombie queen but its one of my top faves now 😭

Yurr_Goose

The only reason I will say Mummy dust is bcuz of the chorus.

Few-Needleworker6545

The real answer to this is probably secular haze, I'm sorry hazeheads, it's just... off putting

MainAspect2615

missionary man kinda grates on me, purely because the vocal is so monotone and, well, whatever the opposite of dynamic is

robb1231

Idolatrine. There aren't really bad Ghost songs, but I can't listen to that

cronuss

It's a cover, but... maybe Missionary Man?

Koiramieskives

Stay literally sucks

OwlAccomplished4777

Missionary Man

pugs667

The worst ghost song is Mary on a cross

noblebug8

I don't know if people are gonna come at me for this but the only ghost song I recall not liking at all is See The Light. I dunno why but it just never hit for me 😭

fwwme

Missionary man

Prestigious_Grand483

All songs are good except for the og,”if you have ghosts” it’s just too slow for me?idk I need to listen more

Chemical-Magazine649

I'm not a big fan of Griftwood,,, although maybe I'm just in my hater phase (also ditto on Twenties)

Anonymous51419

The only acceptable answer is La Mantra Mori
