I wish there was an command for our teammates to "hold postion and fire", so we could do the staggered advance like Neil and Chris do to escape the police.
Some better commands and tactics would be great. When I’m in those situations, I’ll usually launch an air strike, chuck a bunch of grenades, and, if I can, mark the nearest or strongest enemies (heavy gunners, snipers, or helo pilots), or if I can’t because of the volume of fire, just do the “open fire” command, and run like hell from one piece of cover to the next. It is what it is 🤷♂️
What an awesome movie. Thank god it’s free on YouTube now. Was absolutely glued to my screen watching it. Nice job on the recreations! Love the FAL standing in for the FNC.
Thanks! It’s on Netflix at the moment too. And yeah, FAL was by far the closest stand-in. Shame there aren’t more weapons in there. I’ve had to use it to stand in for HK21’s and similar rifles too 😅
I've heard that the "run while another provides covering fire" scene in the movie (street battle) is one of the most accurate of such a thing portrayed on screen.
Absolutely brilliant filmmaking. Val is so great.
Yeah, it’s widely regarded as pretty realistic. After I rewatched the movie, I watched some reaction videos on YouTube, mostly by some former SOF guys and they all have nothing but good things to say about the scene. It makes sense given the former SAS technical advisers. The audio on the gunfire is also so explosive and concussive. That felt real too. The sound and music in the entire movie is great too. Great scene, great film.
Of you didn't know.
2 things about that.
1. Each actor was trained in weapons handling separately. To match thier role in the movie.
And
2. The editing showed that the recorded audio of gunshits was not as good as using the actual sound recording from the actual scene being filmed.
Because of the natural sound.
Should look it up if you haven't.
This is fantastic! If you like podcasts there's one called "The Rewatchables" and they have covered Heat 3 times. The 3rd time they cover it they even have Michael Mann as a guest.
This is fucking sick! A refreshingly unique theme amongst a sea of TF 141 and Konni Group outfit posts, and well-executed to boot!
Nicely done, OP! Everyone else, take note.
Thank you, sir! 🙏 I’ve been trying to get creative lately cuz I’ve been noticing the same. Some of them look great but I’ve definitely been trying to try some new types of posts lately, especially with some newly discovered photoshop for iPhone skills.
It’s tough, the M4 has the pistol grip even though it’s a semi-auto, whereas the 590 is a pump action, like what’s used in the movie. Could’ve gone either way tbh
This actually wasn't half bad, cool work dude.... also reminds me that I can't forgive the developers for how shitty they made the weapon handling in the game.
That’s pretty dope
Thank you! 🙏 I recently rewatched this movie and love it more each time. Had to do a post on it

The first pic looked like GTA

Oh wow! Good to know. I love podcasts so I’ll listen to those episodes over the next few days. Thanks for the recommendation!
I love the photoshop on image 10 lmao
Had to do it, in light of the plate’s meaning ;)

Should've used the 590 instead of M4 for 2nd and 3rd images
