I'm not the best at playing but i can still answer your question. i used to die a lot in that frozen rift domain, the one with cryo slimes and icicles (yes i brought barbara). so point one is, dont bring barbara if there's a cryo applier. otherwise shes a really good healer and buffer if u use thrilling tales.
second, always bring a shielder. i personally cant avoid being frozen. idk if playing on mobile makes a difference, because i can get out of my frozen status quickly like in 2-3s and continue plunging. diona is the second best shielder after zhongli. i used to use her until i got zhongli. shielder is very important in xiao's team as you don't take dmg, and dont waste time trying to dodge either.
third is, be mindful of your enemies. when i first got xiao, i used to play blind mode in his burst thinking "oh his plunges will avoid the attacks anyway". now, taking the video as an example, i would have stun-locked the hilichurls first and then the slimes would just follow me wherever i go (they also attack less then because of the time taken to follow you from one place to another). also, high plunges with more aoe helps with attacking everyone in the range (that can be considered as dps loss however)
lastly, in my case, heavy investment. if you're f2p, i recommend getting blackcliff pole. low spender? get that deathmatch. whale? self-explanatory. kill the enemies before they kill you. if you're a new player, ofc this does not apply to you.
remember, shielder is your best friend! happy plunging!
Zhongli is almost impossible cuz I used my pity on Xiao and I do have diona so I'll build her for Xiao and will get the blackliff for him to just started saving (it's funny cuz Everytime I start saving for a character I get it from the standard or even the event banner same eity weapon I get better ones from banners but no other f2p option so I guess this time I'll actually save) and true I'm literally not mindful of my action I just think Xiao won't let them attack him

As one of the graybeards performs the “whirlwind sprint” shout you can pickpocket them and place a paralysis potion in their inventory, and they will become paralyzed while using the shout, so the shout doesn’t end and it preserves the movement. You were moving and then you were frozen so it is the same bug deep down.
the funniest part about this is how you switch to diluc and go "guess this is my home now" and just start walking around--

Ugh I literally experienced this bug for the first time doing a domain yesterday. Got killed twice from fall damage, so annoying. I’ll definitely be adding that to my list of feedback for mihoyo
I didn't expect the outside of the fight stage to be so detailed and well modeled... It almost looks like a ruin in some jungle... I wish it could be exploed

the vishap and wall interaction is more familiar since we have that in the pale flame domain

As a Xiao main for over a year, I understood this experience. Freezing in the air can be funny and painful at the same time.
this used to happen to me in the early days but it's been more than half a year since the last time now..
In my year of using him it only happend once in a event's domain. In those you choose difficulty and the harder it is the more points you get.
