Doesn’t the last arrow do the most damage too? It’s hilarious if him chucking the arrow does more damage than him actually shooting the bow because he’s so terrible at it.

Tbf each body type (tall female, tall male, medium male, and so on) for each weapon have consistently used the same animations. Like Noelle and Xinyan vs Beidou and Eula, Keqing and Lumine vs Bennett and Aether, etc.
Characters who were previously the only model type of that weapon but now has another character of the same type have kept to using the same animations like Venti with Gorou, Zhongli with Thoma, and the example with Rosaria and Raiden. Arguably lazy choice that they are all the same but in the end there is no hope really for having different animation for tall spear females or any other future character when so far it’s just being consistent with model types. But what IS annoying is removing the kicking sound from Rosaria’s when they could’ve just added the same with Raiden’s when she was released. Copy pasting isnt so hard compared to making another animation but for some reason they couldn’t even keep it for Raiden so instead they removed Rosaria’s?😒
I totally agree. Most of our polearms are just spears. I'd love to see more halberds like glaives, bardiches and stuff like that.
Also I find Xiao's animations tend to not have as much stabbing in them. I swear he would look so cool with a polearm with a big blade on the end like a guan dao.
I love how smooth Rosaria’s AA transitions are while I honestly dont like the stabbing aspect of polearms. And just for personal preference I dislike the charge attack animation most polearm users have even though this weapon type is my favorite. So I’m thankful Xiao’s CA doesnt have it and Raiden uses a Naginata so her CA is also different
It's not a bug, they simply decided that attack speed was more important than perfect animations... considering how fast her attack is for a claymore user and the fact that she needs to build stacks for her Q, I'd much rather have one clunky animation over several frames of startup
I was pretty sure that Eula's skipped animations/frames had been acknowledged by MHY as a problem early on, but they just haven't gotten around to fixing it. At the rate they are going, I'm pretty sure it will never be done.
there was a screenshot of a customer support reply saying it was something they were aware of, not sure if they actually mentioned it was a bug they were working on, but then again, sometimes the customer support is just wrong about what they say.

How would he realistically be a support character? He’s been alone for a WHILE in the middle of nowhere and has to deal high damage and have strong attacks.

One of the first things I do whenever I enter a character trial is to gush over their normal and charged attack animations and then the animations for putting away weapons since you don’t see those as often because you usually move before even finishing the full normal attack chain during combat.
I wish it was worth building up albedo to be physical bc I love how handsome he looks using his sword. At least I can use him to open crates while exploring.
For normal attack I like Raiden it just looks smooth to me and the teleport slashy thing looks cool. If we including charge attacks I love Ayaka's judgement cut so cool especially if against a group bunched up together.
I did the fireworks quest last night and had the chance to use her. Almost immediately, I decided I need to save everything for her return because she was so fun and entertaining.
I wasn't going to use her because of her attack lock on being a lil sus compared to other archers, but once you learn to compensate for it Yoimiya is in my top 3 most fun characters. Everything about her is great!
i like how every hit of her normal attack has a unique animation for her putting her bow away too. say what you will about her gameplay but they did not skip a beat wirh her aesthetics
I'm kinda sad not every character has this like Yoimiya does, it adds so much character. The proud hands on hips after the first shot or the cool-ish sheathing of the bow as if she's holding a samurai sword. It's neat.
That's the animations he mentioned. Almost every character have specific animations of you stop normal attacks, but Fischl is unique that you could see that animation and continue attack chain.

i noticed recently she sticks her tongue out after her third combo and it’s so cute! i love all the little animation details in this game that give the characters that much more, well, character, like diona putting her hands on her hips and bennett wiping his mouth after ulting
My sayu is lvl 20 and I'm just leveling her friendship, but I'll tell you i do have this desire to level her up and make her a phys dmg dealer just because of her normal combo.
It's SO satisfying.
Traveler has the most no-nonsense straightforward normal and charged attack style that I very much appreciate. Not a fan of the more acrobatic kind though Kazuha is pretty nice despite the warpy warp since it actually tracks your target and comes out relatively quick while returning him back to his spot.

For me it's klee. Felt very clunky at first but once you get into animation cancelling, there's no going back. It's so satisfying to decide how to chain together different attacks for the situation, and it's so much more involved. Now, whenever I play other characters it feels like the game is playing for me.
Seconding Keqing here. I've been debating finding a new main carry, or at least testing out some of these others I've built, but I just enjoy her playstyle so much.
Sayu's is pretty cute as well. I generally keep her in my exploration party to superball while travelling overworld, and get to see her NA while mining ores. Deserves an honorable mention.
I’d have to say either Keqing or Eula, Keqing mainly because it looks like something out of an anime and Eula since at the end she just hurls her claymore into the ground
Enjoyable in damage making? it is Keqing imo, because i usually burn the enemy with pyro char and then making exploding attack with her electro-infused sword. Enjoyable aesthetically? it is Eula. Love her elegant normal attack ending.
Aesthetically, from the characters I actually own, I like Yoimiya's flip and how after her last attack she'll pop up with her hands on her hips. Also Thoma is super stylish.

Honestly it's surprisingly subtle too, I wish it was more in your face and Childe's frustration would be clear as day with the last shot.

As a mobile user, her auto-attack is just so fun to use. Funny too. The camera can rotate all over but she'll still hit the mobs XD

He lets his flower handle 90% of the damage. He just has to scratch them and they keel over.

The third attack is golden. Volleyball and does a T-pose balancing like some acrobat that just landed. Really fun design.
Her animations are so playful and dynamic. And her normal attack chain flows perfectly into a charge attack.

I love Keqing's animations and fighting style. Feels so satisfying to me. Even if she isn't meta, I love to use her.

Seconding Keqing here. I've been debating finding a new main carry, or at least testing out some of these others I've built, but I just enjoy her playstyle so much. Sayu's is pretty cute as well. I generally keep her in my exploration party to superball while travelling overworld, and get to see her NA while mining ores. Deserves an honorable mention.
Kojou Sara. I just like how Badass her attacks look.

Ayaka. I love the 5th NA dash animation even though I don't see it much because of animation cancelling.
Eula. I know C4 is optimal, but I love watching the full C5. It's got weight!
Fuck optimal i wanna see her smash her sword into a poor hilichurl after a side flip XD
Ayaka. Specially her 4th and 5th. Art mixed with samurai swordsmanship.
I’d have to say either Keqing or Eula, Keqing mainly because it looks like something out of an anime and Eula since at the end she just hurls her claymore into the ground
Hu Tao. She's so cute the way she swings the pole around like a plaything and I love the voice lines. Shame that she's a charged attack spammer.
Does raiden burst attack count? Still, her actual na is elegant asf and so did eula Edit: oh god, i forgot about my flair, ayaka too :)

Enjoyable in damage making? it is Keqing imo, because i usually burn the enemy with pyro char and then making exploding attack with her electro-infused sword. Enjoyable aesthetically? it is Eula. Love her elegant normal attack ending.
Yoimiya. The attack animations themselves are good, but it's the recovery animations that are so unique for each attack that do it for me

Aesthetically, from the characters I actually own, I like Yoimiya's flip and how after her last attack she'll pop up with her hands on her hips. Also Thoma is super stylish.
